When I came home with a head full of chicken feathers, I headed straight for the sofa, used my legs for momentum, and dove in, burying my face in a cushion.
I got shocked again.
That’s the fourth time.
They say things only happen three times.
It was just a Silver Coin, wasn’t it? Why be so stingy?
Besides, it didn’t even taste good…
Still, at least I’m not hungry today.
Hehe.
I rolled onto my back, rubbed my little tummy, squinted my eyes, and showed a satisfied expression.
“Yeah… I know, when do you have time?”
Lu Xiu walked in through the door, still talking on the phone with someone.
“Alright… I’ll take her there.”
He hung up, then leaned back on the sofa, looking exhausted.
“I really think I never should’ve agreed to Qu Le back then… Maybe I’ll end up with a brain hemorrhage by the time I retire.”
“Is it edible?”
“All you care about is eating. Can you do anything other than eat?”
“…I can poop too.”
He covered his face and gave up resisting.
“Anyway, tomorrow I’m taking you to the [White Tower] to get the Silver Coin out of your body.”
“No! Once I’ve eaten something, why would I spit it out?”
I clamped my hand over the little mouth on top, and with the other, pulled my shirt to cover the big mouth on my belly.
“Whether you want to or not, you have to. This is important—it’s not up to you.”
“You’re a bad person!”
“Oh, thank you for the compliment.”
My eyes widened. How can he be so shameless?
My pout seemed to put him in a better mood. He stood up and headed for the stairs. At the top, he seemed to remember something, looked back at me, then scratched his head impatiently.
“Tsk…why is this so troublesome…”
Is this guy schizophrenic?
“Hey, Sui.”
“What do you want?”
I answered grumpily.
“Did you bring a change of clothes?”
“Is it edible?”
“…Why do I even bother asking you.”

In the end, Lu Xiu tossed me a really big shirt.
The oversized white cloth draped over my head, and I heard his voice above me, “Wear this for now. Tomorrow, after we come back from the White Tower, I’ll take you to buy some clothes.”
I struggled with the sleeves and poked my head out. “Then can I buy something to eat too?”
“We’ll see.”
“See what?”
“The situation.”
“What situation?”
He didn’t bother answering. Then, as if he remembered something, his expression suddenly turned serious as he walked over.
“W-What’s wrong?”
I hugged the shirt tightly.
“Give me your hand.” He lifted his chin in command.
“No.”
Bzzt bzzt
He took the chance to grab my hand, exposing my wrist.
Looking at the damaged Restraint Ring glowing red, he nodded—not really in approval, but sarcastically, “Impressive, all your brains go into this kind of thing.”
I didn’t answer, looking away.
“No wonder you’ve been so quiet. Turns out you’ve learned to pretend.”
I’m not pretending; you just didn’t notice.
He took a new Restraint Ring out of his Miao Miao Pocket and fastened it to my wrist before removing the broken one.
With a beep, the little freedom I’d pried open was once again firmly locked away.
“If you break the Restraint Ring again, I’ll apply for a hundred more. I’ll put them on your hands, feet, neck—everywhere.”
“I won’t break it, just don’t make me wear them.”
“Really?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“I don’t believe you.”
Then why bother asking?
I shot him a contemptuous look.
“Oh right, to keep you from sneaking off or causing trouble at night, you’ll sleep in my room tonight.”
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll eat you?”
“Would you dare?”
You wouldn’t taste good anyway, like a dried-up seaweed ball.
Besides, I’m full. I’ll consider it next time I’m hungry.
You’re off the hook for now.
He led me upstairs. As he opened the door, I saw the big bed in the middle of the room. I was about to leap onto it when he grabbed my collar, leaving me dangling in midair, legs swinging.
“What are you doing?! Let me go!”
Lu Xiu held me in one hand, turned me around, and pointed at a tiny beanbag in the corner. “That’s your bed.”
“Huh? Why?! Why do you get the big bed and I have to sleep in this doghouse?”
“Because it’s my room.”
“…You’re just a bad person.”
“Oh.”
I wriggled a bit but couldn’t get free, so I hung my head and resigned myself.
With a plop, he let go, and I nearly fell on my face, catching myself with my hands before I could eat dirt. Grumbling, I got up and shuffled toward my tiny nest.
“This is way too small… And not comfy at all, smells weird too.”
“Be grateful you have a place to sleep. If you’re really unhappy, you can sleep on the floor tonight.”
“No, I want to go back, back to the white house.”
At least that place had bigger beds, and there was food every day.
“This is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone whining to go back to the [Black Box].”
“What’s the [Black Box]? Can I eat it?”
He was stumped by me again and just turned away, lying straight down on the bed with his shoes still on, scrolling his phone.
Ignored.
A little flame of annoyance flickered inside me.
But I didn’t dare hit him. I didn’t want to get shocked.
Every time I get shocked, food tastes like nothing for a while. It’s awful.
“Puhahaha~ —How can someone be so dumb…”
Lu Xiu, with his dead-fish eyes, stared at the phone, laughing out loud at the video’s garbled music, showing not a shred of public decency.
I kept pouting. He was so noisy it hurt my eyes. My little body sank into the soft beanbag, which actually had a faint, clean scent—not really that stinky.
Everything I said before was just talk. Once I lay down, I realized… it wasn’t so bad.
But I still wasn’t satisfied. I wanted a big one, not a small one. Small things are bad; big things are good.
My silent protest had zero effect. He was lost in his joke world and didn’t spare me a single glance.
So boring…
I started chewing on my own toes.
Saliva trickled from the round, cute spaces between my toes, slid down my dainty ankle and heel, and seeped into the beanbag’s fibers, making my whole foot glisten wetly.
I didn’t bite my hand—hands can grab things, but feet can’t. So when I’m bored, I chew on my feet or play with my tongue.
My big tongue is soft and squishy—pinching it feels nice, and it makes a good pillow.
“What are you doing?”
I was happily chewing away when I realized Lu Xiu had put down his phone and had been watching me for a while.
“Mm mm (chewing on foot) …”
I answered honestly, but it came out muffled.
He scratched at the messy straw-like hair on his head, looking vexed, and finally reached a conclusion, “Nope…For my own sanity…I have to teach you some basic human common sense…Otherwise, you’ll drive me insane sooner or later.”
“Hmm?”
What’s this guy talking about?
