Standing outside the wall, Lu Weizhu waited for nearly twenty minutes.

After the sky had completely darkened, Miss Security came running back.

“Come in.”

The iron gate was opened, the scraping of metal harsh to the ears.

Lu Weizhu remained silent as she stepped inside the wall.

Inside, Lu Weizhu looked around.

Pebble Paths stretched in all directions, and vast expanses of lawn unfolded before her eyes.

Along the edge of the wall grew a large grove of trees, with vines dangling from the branches, looking somewhat eerie in the night.

Without a word, Lu Weizhu looked straight ahead.

The lawn extended endlessly.

On both sides of the Pebble Path stood various scenic spots and structures.

Lu Weizhu was a bit stunned by what she saw.

As Lu Weizhu surveyed her surroundings, the female Housekeeper appeared before her, dressed in a tailcoat.

A wooden suspension bridge hung over the water, with two fishing rods set up along the ropes.

Moving forward, Lu Weizhu saw several transparent Flowerhouses.

Under the soft orange-yellow light, through the glass, Lu Weizhu glimpsed hundreds of different flowers, blooming in brilliant colors, some almost dazzling.

Lu Weizhu pressed her lips together.

Once again, she realized that she, Bai Lu, and Ning Wan were not from the same world.

She tightened her grip on the bag she held.

Seeing the grandeur of Bai Lu’s Home made her feel an overwhelming sense of inferiority.

Her gift was so cheap, even if she had put her heart into it, would it truly move Bai Lu?

Without answering, Lu Weizhu followed the Housekeeper inside.

They walked through the magnificent hall, reaching the second floor, stopping in front of a room near the balcony.

“We’re here.”

The Housekeeper bowed slightly before leaving.

The second-floor lounge was left with only Lu Weizhu.

Swallowing hard, Lu Weizhu approached the door.

Bai Lu should be inside, right?

Without speaking, Lu Weizhu pressed two fingers together and gently knocked on the door, producing a soft knock-knock sound.

“Bai…Miss Bai?”

She had tried to prepare herself mentally, but just thinking that Bai Lu was behind the door made Lu Weizhu stammer uncontrollably.

“Come in.”

The voice was neither cold nor warm, and Lu Weizhu could not tell the speaker’s emotions.

Pressing her lips tight, Lu Weizhu cautiously pushed open the door.

She tiptoed into the room, trying to make no sound.

This was Bai Lu’s Study.

The room was lit with a pure white light.

Bookshelves on both sides were filled with books and files.

In the center stood a desk and a computer.

Under the desk was a large Storage Box, likely holding documents and the like.

The desk faced the Study’s door directly, and beside the door hung a piece of Calligraphy Lu Weizhu couldn’t understand.

Behind that was a large floor-to-ceiling Curtain.

Lu Weizhu had developed a psychological shadow toward such rooms.

Looking at the bookshelves, memories drifted away as she recalled her third meeting with Ning Wan—that was probably the most painful time.

Standing in front of the mirror in the Study, looking at herself…but no, Lu Weizhu didn’t want to remember.

Snapping back to reality, Lu Weizhu glanced at the Curtain.

A black-haired girl was wearing a white suit shirt.

Below, she wore a black pleated skirt and knee-high socks.

It was Bai Lu.

With her back to Lu Weizhu, Bai Lu had her hands clasped behind her back, gazing out the floor-to-ceiling window at the estate outside.

Lu Weizhu swallowed nervously.

“What are you doing here? And how did you find this place? I don’t remember telling you where I live.”

Bai Lu turned around and sat on a chair, fiddling with a Golden Fountain Pen in her hand.

A gray Tie hung loosely on her chest, the pen twirling in front of it, catching the light.

Looking coldly at Lu Weizhu, Bai Lu’s tone was unfriendly.

To Bai Lu, Lu Weizhu was like a little kitten she somewhat liked, but in the end, a stray cat.

Bai Lu was annoyed that Lu Weizhu had come to her Home without permission.

“Forget it, I’ll take this call first.”

Before Lu Weizhu could answer, Bai Lu’s phone rang.

She answered it.

“Hey? Xiao Bai, I’m almost at your door. Can you come out to get me?”

Ning Wan’s voice came through the phone.

Bai Lu glanced at Lu Weizhu and frowned.

“…?”

Lu Weizhu opened her mouth but didn’t say a word.

The bag in her hand slipped to the floor.

She had never imagined she’d run into Ning Wan here.

Why did things always have to be so coincidental?

She began to panic.

“Xiao Bai? What’s that noise over there?”

Ning Wan’s voice came again.

“The file bag accidentally dropped. Ah Wan, wait a moment, I’ll be right there.”

Bai Lu hung up.

She stared intently at Lu Weizhu.

“Ah…um, I didn’t know Miss Ning would be here…I’ll leave right now.”

She no longer cared about the gift.

If she appeared in front of both patrons at the same time, she might be doomed.

At this moment, Lu Weizhu only wanted to get away quickly.
