Gou Yu experienced for the first time what it meant to have seductive eyes like silk, and also, for the first time ever, what it felt like to be vomited on.
Heaven knows that the “thirty-nine degrees” Zhu Niao mentioned was actually the contents of her stomach.
But honestly, this sort of thing really was something only Zhu Niao could pull off—she never held back even a bit.
In fact, it was his own fault for ever expecting anything different from Zhu Niao’s words. This whole mess of vomit on him was just his well-deserved retribution.
In the end, after taking a shower, Gou Yu returned to Zhu Niao’s room with a face full of misery.
His little bird was very good to him, very partial to him. All the vomit had landed almost entirely on him, and even the floor just needed a simple mop to look clean as ever.
Now Gou Yu deeply regretted agreeing to go out for barbecue with Zhu Niao last night.
He also regretted getting close to her when she had that mischievous grin. He knew from experience that nothing good ever came from that expression, and, in fact, he’d already suspected Zhu Niao was about to throw up at the time.
But he just had to lose his head to some unknown impulse at that moment and blunder right into Zhu Niao’s trap.
It was an obvious, blatant trap, but Gou Yu still stepped right in.
Who knows if he was possessed or simply lovesick, but in the end, Gou Yu received a reward of a whole body full of vomit.
Just like how, when Zhu Niao first got a fever, she pitifully begged him not to see the shop manager anymore, and he agreed without a second thought.
But when he thought about it later, there was no way he could stop seeing his own sister.
Gou Yu figured maybe he’d caught a cold himself back then.
But thankfully, today was already the second day of Zhu Niao’s fever, and her condition seemed much more stable.
At least this morning, Gou Yu saw Zhu Niao get up to pour herself a drink of water.
She even poured half a cup for the little cat as well.
Then, as if her invincibility timer had run out, she clutched her head and burrowed back under her covers.
But it seemed she didn’t notice that the cat’s bowl was already almost overflowing, so she ended up pouring water all over the floor.
So, once again, Gou Yu, who was up early, was called by the little cat, urged to take out the mop and clean the floor.
And yet, he even saw that little orange cat trailing right behind Zhu Niao, following her into the room and into the bed.
Zhu Niao was in much better shape now, at least not so unstable as to throw up on the spot like yesterday.
He got to “enjoy” Zhu Niao’s vomit, while the little cat got to enjoy the overflowing lavender scent, the warmth, the softness—a gentle nest that couldn’t be replaced.
Gou Yu didn’t think there was anything wrong with that, but his mopping was a bit more forceful than usual today.
Suddenly, he had a sad thought: maybe in this house, his status wasn’t even as high as a cat’s.
Looking down, he saw a message on his phone from his good little sister.
[I’ve prepared a gift as compensation for sister-in-law. She’ll definitely like it.]
[When you bring sister-in-law home during the National Day holiday, I’ll hand it to her myself.]
[Big bro, please don’t be mad, okay?]
Gou Yu wouldn’t get angry just because Zhu Niao got a gift and he didn’t. He wasn’t that petty.
Shrugging, Gou Yu put away his phone.
He still had to give Zhu Niao her medicine soon.
He really hoped she’d get better, but at the same time, he wasn’t in a rush.
If Zhu Niao’s fever lasted the whole National Day holiday, maybe he wouldn’t have to bring her home.
But as a good brother, he couldn’t actually wish for Zhu Niao to stay sick. If she had a fever for almost ten days, she’d probably be seriously ill.
Still, judging by her condition, she might be mostly recovered by today.
Today was the last day before the National Day holiday.
Not only Gou Yu and Zhu Niao at home, but everyone at school also remembered how important this moment was.
Liu Xie and Ye Qingchang were still in the classroom attending class, but there were noticeably fewer students than usual.
“Yang Shuli.”
The teacher at the podium was calling roll.
When the Dorm Leader’s name was called, both Ye Qingchang and Liu Xie looked almost simultaneously at the empty seat beside them.
“Didn’t you wake up Dorm Leader when you left the dorm this morning?” Liu Xie asked Ye Qingchang.
Ye Qingchang pointed at her own eyes. “Class at eight, woke up at seven-fifty. I didn’t even bring my glasses when I left. You think I’d have the energy to wake Dorm Leader?”
Liu Xie massaged her forehead and let out a long sigh.
Then she raised her hand. “Teacher, Yang Shuli is in the restroom.”
The teacher glanced at Liu Xie, then looked down at the roster.
Then the teacher spoke, “Do you realize there are already… twenty girls in the women’s restroom right now?”
Liu Xie’s expression didn’t change. She looked down at Ye Qingchang sitting beside her.
“Why does everyone use that excuse?”
But on the last day before the break, for an easy class like this, the others had probably already caught their trains home. Only Yang Shuli hadn’t gotten out of bed in the dorm yet.
Ye Qingchang sighed too, raising her hand. “Teacher, I can vouch for her. She really is in the restroom.”
“So what you mean is, if I go check now, I’ll find twenty girls crammed into a five-stall restroom?” The teacher slowly put down the roster.
Ye Qingchang and Liu Xie nodded at the same time. “That’s right.”
“Then read your books for now, I’m going to check.” The young female teacher stepped down from the podium. “I’ve never seen this before, gogogo, let’s go.”
With the teacher’s temporary departure, the classroom grew noisy, but Ye Qingchang and Liu Xie fell silent.
“What do you think we should do now?”
“Just chill.” Ye Qingchang spread her hands and looked at the book on her desk.
She flipped through a couple of pages at random, then suddenly snapped the book shut and looked at the cover.
Great, brought the wrong book.
Ye Qingchang and Liu Xie both covered their faces, emotionally collapsing amidst the classroom’s chaos.
The wooden chairs creaked twice, and a familiar figure sat down on Ye Qingchang’s other side.
“Dorm Leader?” Liu Xie’s face showed shock. “How did you get here?”
“Huh?” Yang Shuli pointed at herself. “I just came from the restroom. I even ran into the teacher on the way.”
“You actually went to the restroom?” Ye Qingchang looked Yang Shuli up and down. “Weren’t you still in bed in the dorm?”
“No, I got up ages ago. Xu Nian said he’d treat me to breakfast. When I got up, you two were sleeping so soundly I didn’t wake you.” Yang Shuli put both hands on the wooden desk and patted it. “Come on, give me a book.”
Ye Qingchang held up her copy of The Secret of Human Nature, and Liu Xie held up her book on **Postpartum Care.
Yang Shuli looked down at her own empty hands.
“That’s it for this lifetime.”
The loli Dorm Leader lay on the desk for a moment. “Oh right, I want to eat seafood. Are you two coming?”
Liu Xie waved her hand. “I’m heading home, no time.”
Yang Shuli looked to Ye Qingchang again.
Ye Qingchang raised her palm in midair. “I’m not a food vacuum. I can’t keep up with you two eating non-stop.”
After all, whenever it came to eating, Xu Nian would definitely tag along.
Those two food vacuums—honestly, they should just date each other.
That’s the plan, or at least by Xu Nian
