Stellar Bloodline…
At the sound of these four words, everyone’s breath caught, and a flicker of yearning simultaneously flashed in their eyes.
In the Empire, the existence of Stellar Users has never been a secret; many trainees have witnessed firsthand the awe-inspiring power of a Stellar User.
For children born in the lower ranks, awakening the Stellar Bloodline is the only shortcut to changing their fate, and it is the greatest hope their parents constantly speak of.
Now, after a year of study, compared to before when they only had a vague concept of [Stellar Users] in their minds, they had come to understand more deeply just how terrifying such beings truly are.
Stellar Users tap into the Stellar Bloodline, refining Stellar Energy to gain power far beyond that of normal carbon-based lifeforms.
The strong can shatter planets with their bare hands, traverse the starry void, and regard high-energy cosmic rays as nothing.
This is power; this is extraordinary might concentrated in a single individual! This is the only chance to seize control of their own destiny!
The Battle Camp established the course [Introduction to Stellar Users], and after many trainees finished it, they vaguely suspected that perhaps the Battle Camp had kidnapped them, going through so much trouble and effort to train them, all to select those among them who could awaken the Stellar Bloodline.
The train.
But in reality, their imagination was still too limited.
Instructor Behemoth had clearly said—anyone who passes the assessment can obtain the qualification to awaken.
It doesn’t depend on bloodline purity, nor on luck!
Even those without innate aptitude can forcibly awaken!
But at the same time, many trainees, amid their hopes and yearnings, could not help but feel a trace of unease.
Take Lin Zhen, for example.
This method, by which anyone can awaken, was simply unheard of; the power of the Battle Camp was far beyond their imagination.
Even if they did awaken the Stellar Bloodline and became Stellar Users, could they really escape from the Battle Camp, which had produced countless Stellar Users?
Maybe becoming a Stellar User was only the beginning of another hell…….
“Stellar User? Oh wow, the power system is finally out.”
“Jedi Knight, huh? May the Force be with you!”
“This story background looks more like Warhammer, actually should be called Psychics! Everyone, get ready to be sent to burn in golden toilets!”
Instructor Behemoth watched with satisfaction the changing expressions on everyone’s faces. He grinned widely and slammed his fan-like right hand down.
The next moment, all the collars emitted blinding electric sparks simultaneously.
“Ugh!”
Pain, numbness, swelling, uncontrollable muscle contractions—one by one, the trainees wailed and collapsed like harvested wheat stalks.
Thud!
“That damn Behemoth, no honor in fighting, attacking us by surprise. A whole year without shocks and now the prison forest is all numbed out.”
“Come on, fight, fight, sneak attack!”
“Behemoth: Steamed Bun, you don’t agree?”
Behemoth looked on coldly, unmoved by the wails all around.
Only after everyone was knocked unconscious unexpectedly did he lower his head to look at his ‘wristwatch.’
Though called a wristwatch, it was actually two iron plates forming a V-shaped angle.
Between the iron plates, light particles shimmered, forming a projection.
Behemoth glanced over and roughly confirmed the physical condition of each trainee.
He then nodded toward both sides.
Soldiers already on standby filed out in order, roughly throwing the unconscious trainees onto carts, stuffing them in like cargo, and loading them onto the long-awaited train.
The whistle blew, and the train slowly started moving.
The camera followed the receding train, eventually freezing on the gloomy clouds at the horizon.
Within the dense clouds, faint flashes of lightning flickered.
“I… where is this?”
In the dense jungle, Lin Zhen struggled to open his eyes.
What met his sight was a canopy so thick it blocked out the sky; between the gaps in the leaves, a lead-gray sky was faintly visible.
He tried to get up.
But his entire body ached unbearably, his muscles were exhausted and weak; after several attempts, he barely managed to prop himself upright against a tree trunk.
“Isn’t this the annual assessment? Why did they suddenly use electricity? At my current state, without a treatment device, it’ll take at least a few hours to fully recover…”
Lin Zhen racked his brains and breathed rhythmically—a breathing method taught by Sashin to the Battle Camp trainees.
It didn’t have powerful effects but could harmonize body and mind to speed up physical recovery.
“In this condition…” His gaze swept over the half-man-high weeds beside him, a trace of worry flashing in his eyes, “If some wild beast shows up, I probably won’t have any strength to fight back.”
“Instructor Behemoth…. what exactly is he planning?”
“Ugh, it hurts so much…… my whole body is falling apart.”
Yun Ruoxi struggled to open her eyelids, feeling as if a hundred big brutes had stomped on her back, leaving her powerless.
She looked around and found a cliff right beside her on the right.
Cold wind blew upward from the cliff’s base with a whistling sound, making her clothes flutter and her hair dance wildly.
A wave of chill crept over her uncontrollably.
Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around herself and shivered.
“This lousy place… if I’d moved even a little while unconscious, I’d probably have fallen off the cliff.”
Yun Ruoxi wriggled away from the cliff, massaging her aching temple as she sat up.
Only then did she calm down and look at the broadcast screen in the upper right corner.
Upon closer inspection, she noticed the broadcast screen had split into more than ten parts, like a kaleidoscope, focusing on the main characters who had appeared in the show, recording their awakening reactions.
Lin Zhen, as the protagonist, naturally occupied the center of the screen.
Yun Ruoxi and Zi Jiu, two popular female characters, flanked him on either side like bodyguards, the camera just perfectly framing Lin Zhen between them.
Above and below were 0001, Kaios, and Yun Che, while the outer ring included some other characters who had appeared before.
Like the Cat-eared Boy, the flamboyant blond 0002, the extreme social phobic former 0032, now 0012……..
Even Aili was there.
Though pushed to the corner with only a tiny sliver visible, Yun Ruoxi recognized her.
A faint smile appeared on her face.
“Cute, I love seeing little Ruoxi smile the most.”
[Error, I prefer watching little Ruoxi getting owned.]
“Plus one. I used to blame the production team for liking to torment little Ruoxi, but after watching so much, I have to say, little Ruoxi’s misfortune is just a must-have flavor in ‘Stellar.’ Delicious.”
“So many screens, my eyes hurt. This must be made for Danzo’s viewing, right?”
So she gets owned and yet these viewers like it?
Yun Ruoxi’s expression remained calm, though she found it somewhat amusing inside.
“Now begins the broadcast of the rules for this annual assessment. All trainees, please remember them clearly.”
At the same time, scattered trainees all heard the AI voice coming from their collars.
“First, all trainees must complete their targets within the allotted time to pass. Those with lower numbers who fail to complete their targets will also be eliminated.”
“Second, the first phase of the assessment is hunting and escape.”
“You are currently located in the 200,000-square-kilometer Thin Mist Forest, which is scattered with tens of thousands of [Sinners] escaped from the Battle Camp’s cages.”
“You must use the knowledge you have learned to hunt at least two [Sinners] within thirty days, carrying four ears as proof, traverse the entire forest, and reach the Rhombus Base.”
“Those who exceed the time limit or fail to complete the hunt will be eliminated!”
“Third, consuming any food other than air drops is strictly forbidden; violators will be immediately eliminated.”
