After entering that mysterious False Space, she fell to the ground.
She stood up, crossed her arms, and stood there, her gaze fixed on that tree, staring in silence.
The Contract Deity also said nothing, responding with equal silence.
They stood like that for five minutes.
She thought of Silver Lynn’s physical body, tossed carelessly into the alley outside as if it had been played to pieces.
She waited for a long time, but in the end, she grew impatient.
She spoke up first, shouting, “If you don’t like talking, then don’t talk for the rest of your life!”
She was clearly angry, fuming inside.
She hadn’t really wanted to become a magical girl to begin with, but Diamond had forcefully sold her on it.
She had been living just fine, but then Xia Shiyao kept stirring up trouble.
She made a bet with the Contract Deity, only to have it manipulated behind the scenes.
Her neck already had a minor issue, and just now she’d been slammed hard—she might end up paralyzed for all she knew.
Now she’d been forcibly dragged into this False Space to meet the Contract Deity.
It would be strange if Silver Lynn was in a good mood.
But this was also a kind of negotiation among adults—deliberately using certain matters to vent at the other party.
It was intentional—showing a sour face, being angry, and making sure it showed.
If she didn’t show it, was she supposed to swallow it and keep it bottled up inside?
A minute passed, and the Contract Deity still said nothing.
Forced into Silver Lynn’s body, Old Song started slowly walking toward the Ancient Tree that was oozing black sap, shouting as she went.
“If you keep silent, I’m going to climb the tree. I want to see what’s up there.” She threatened.
From last time, when she managed to get fruit, she’d concluded that this False Space was tangible.
It was definitely not as simple as the Contract Deity claimed with her so-called ‘False Space’; there had to be some secret.
That secret was either in the tree or in the Contract Deity.
She drew closer and closer, and when she was only five meters away from the Ancient Tree, there was finally a response.
“Aren’t you giving me the silent treatment? Why can’t you keep it up?” The Contract Deity’s voice echoed in the void.
She had no idea where that woman actually was.
Silver Lynn shouted, “Just thinking about my magical girl body lying defenseless in the alley, thinking about how she’s such a cute, beautiful girl—even I want to stuff an egg in her, let alone someone else.
If anyone sees her, who knows what could happen. Someone could end up dead!”
Her words were a bit rough—half genuine, half probing.
She wanted to see how the Contract Deity would react.
“If you’re so anxious, then make a contract with me.” That woman spoke.
Silver Lynn didn’t even bother asking questions and refused directly, “No, I’m not making a contract with you.”
Contract Deity: “Aren’t you going to ask what the contract is about?”
Silver Lynn: “Good things never come to me, but all the bad stuff always does.”
Contract Deity: “You already lost the bet. Are you planning to break your word?”
Silver Lynn: “You and I both know there was a problem with that bet. You rigged it, and now you have the nerve to talk to me about it.”
Contract Deity: “I didn’t rig it.”
“Heh.” Silver Lynn laughed coldly, clearly not believing her. “How about this, I have three questions. If you can answer them right now, I’ll consider it.”
Before she could even ask her questions, the Contract Deity answered first, “The answer to your first question is simple: a magical girl used a magic cannon at 150% power. That shot was hers. For your second question, after I set that condition, I knew I’d win. You wouldn’t last forty-eight hours…”
“What do you mean?” Silver Lynn couldn’t help interrupting, “What do you mean, you knew you’d win after setting that condition? Isn’t it just you and Xia Shiyao teaming up—you set the condition, she exposes me, and you two use a Combination Technique?”
The Contract Deity replied, “No, it’s because I knew what kind of condition would guarantee my win, so I set a condition that would definitely beat you.”
Seeing Silver Lynn fall silent, the Contract Deity continued, “The answer to your third question: the one who attacked you was Diamond. I told him what strength to use, from what angle, with what object, and where to ambush you. When you get out, you can ask Diamond yourself.”
Silver Lynn let out a deep, fierce sigh.
The Contract Deity added, “As for your fourth question, it’s not Soul Reading. You’ll know in the future.”
Aside from Soul Reading, Silver Lynn couldn’t think of any other explanation for now.
The Contract Deity could guess her questions with uncanny accuracy—if that wasn’t Soul Reading, what was it?
Could it really be just a lucky guess?
She was more inclined to believe the Contract Deity possessed the ability of Soul Reading, but kept lying and denying it. For some reason, she just wouldn’t admit it.
She wondered if the Contract Deity knew what she was thinking right now, but the woman gave no explanation.
Silver Lynn changed the subject, “How about this, I’m not making a contract with you, but I can try to retrieve the Undying Orb, one of the Genesis Artifacts. Just that one—I’m not looking for any of the other Genesis Artifacts. Then we’re even, deal? Yes or no?”
Contract Deity: “Deal.”
Silver Lynn: “Give me a clue—where should I look? And if I get the Undying Orb, where do I take it?”
Contract Deity: “The clue is you. That Executive-level Fiend wants to kill you—you know what to do. Once you have the Undying Orb, I’ll guide you.”
Silver Lynn: “I know the Bait Tactic, but no one will cooperate with me. Neither Jin Luan nor Huan Hong will help.”
Contract Deity: “They care about you. You can use that.”
Those words shook Silver Lynn to her core, filling her with suspicion toward this mysterious woman.
A woman named after a ‘Deity’;
A member of the magical girl lineup;
The one who gave birth to Contract Beasts and magical girls.
Such a Savior-level figure could say something so dark.
It was like if Diga Ultraman said, ‘Let humanity exhaust the monster with their lives. Once the monster’s tired, I’ll show up and finish it off.’
The shock was considerable.
Silver Lynn understood what she meant.
Jin Luan cared about her, and Huan Hong also seemed to care, albeit subtly.
At the same time, when it came to issues between humans and fiends, they were both rather upright—they’d step in whenever a fiend incident occurred.
So, the conclusion was simple: as long as Silver Lynn went to throw her life away, someone would naturally come to save her.
She figured that was exactly what the Contract Deity meant.
Whenever she spoke with this woman, there was always a sense of kindred spirits—both could understand each other’s thinking.
“Do you realize what you’re saying? Should I take it that you’re a scheming bitch?” Silver Lynn didn’t hide anything, speaking bluntly.
Staring at the Ancient Tree with its black sap flowing, she suddenly felt as if that sap was the Contract Deity’s true heart.
The Ancient Tree was awe-inspiring, a hymn to life, but the black sap was ominous, utterly repulsive.
The Contract Deity suddenly began waxing philosophical.
“Magical girls are all innocent, bright young girls. They have beautiful dreams for the future and for their identity as magical girls. They’re not old enough to accept all those dirty things.”
“What about me? My heart isn’t fragile?” Silver Lynn voiced her dissatisfaction.
“You’re a thirty-four-year-old man. I won’t even mention you going around pretending to be a kid for cons. Do you really think you’re a child?” The Contract Deity was blunt, her words sharp as knives.
After ten minutes of negotiation, the matter was finally settled.
