Chapter 53: Guess Who

The girl who had spoken to An Yu froze for a moment, completely unprepared for An Yu to actually respond.

Did that mean… um… the bribe worked?

It was surprisingly easy. 

Just one piece of candy…

The girl’s lips parted slightly. 

She sneakily glanced at the teacher’s position, then lowered her voice toward An Yu. “Um, An Yu classmate…”

The girl’s name was Shen Huahua. 

Her reason for talking to An Yu was actually very simple: pure curiosity.

First, she was curious about how An Yu managed to get along so well with that trio of delinquent-looking girls who seemed so unapproachable…

And second… she desperately wanted to know what exactly An Yu’s relationship with Ning Wanciu was!!

They were glued together every single lunch break, fine. But today they had even hugged in front of everyone.

And earlier, during lunch break, they… they…

Shen Huahua’s face heated up just thinking about it.

An Yu had straddled Ning Wanciu and fed her by hand. That… that was way over the line!

That was definitely not a normal distance between ordinary friends!

From her angle, she hadn’t seen Ning Wanciu refuse the feeding even once. 

Shen Huahua was now completely overflowing with curiosity.

So, unable to hold back any longer, Shen Huahua decided to ask directly during class.

“You… what exactly is your relationship with Ning Wanciu classmate?”

Looking at the blushing Shen Huahua, An Yu tilted her head in confusion.

Someone asked the exact same question last time, too.

Pretty sure it was Cheng Shimumeng.

For some reason, they all love asking this. 

There’s nothing weird about my relationship with Big Pillow.

Still, since she had accepted the candy, An Yu decided to answer honestly. 

There wasn’t really any reason to lie anyway.

“The kind where we sleep together.”

She slept with Ning Wanciu every day, though Ning Wanciu only acted as her pillow and never actually slept with her.

Come to think of it, that’s kind of a shame.

She should really find a chance to bring Ning Wanciu home to sleep together. 

Or going to her place would be fine too.

“Eh??!”

Shen Huahua, shocked by An Yu’s bombshell, completely lost control and shouted out loud.

What… what did An Yu just say??

Was that something she could hear for free?!

In an instant, Shen Huahua’s face turned even redder. 

But she had clearly forgotten that they were in class, and class had only just started.

“Shen Huahua! Disrupting the classroom—go stand at the front!”

This period’s teacher was a slightly younger female teacher who was extremely strict. 

She barked the order sharply.

“Ah…”

Only now realizing what she had done, Shen Huahua’s face flushed deeper—one half from An Yu’s words, the other half from the humiliation of being stared at by the entire class.

How had she just yelled like that?!

But it was also because An Yu’s answer had been far too shocking. 

She never imagined An Yu and Ning Wanciu were already at that stage.

Delinquent girls… are terrifying.

Even a cold-faced loli like An Yu had been conquered…

Though, calling her a cold-faced loli—giving her one piece of candy made her willing to talk. 

Wasn’t something wrong with that picture?

Could it be… An Yu was actually really easy to approach?

“Shen Huahua, what are you still standing there for?!”

“Ah, sorry, Teacher!”

Snapping out of her wandering thoughts, Shen Huahua’s face still red, she immediately left her seat and walked to the blackboard to stand as punishment.

Completely unaware that Shen Huahua had shouted because of her, An Yu tilted her head in puzzlement.

So hard to understand. 

Why is she so dramatic?

Looking away, An Yu secretly popped the candy Shen Huahua had given her into her mouth, her face betraying no expression.

Mm, sweet.

Strawberry flavor. Pretty tasty.

If it had been anything else, An Yu would have ignored her—she was already full from cookies.

But candy was fine. It didn’t take up stomach space and was perfect for passing the boring class time.

Thank you, random classmate I don’t know.

While savoring the candy, the period quickly came to an end. 

Unfortunately, there had only been one piece, and now it was gone.

The next class would be boring again.

“An Yu classmate, An Yu classmate!” 

A lively voice called out. 

An Yu felt like she had heard it somewhere before.

She instinctively looked up and saw Shen Huahua, the girl who had given her the candy earlier, standing right in front of her desk.

Class was over, so the punishment had ended too.

“Mm.” An Yu gave a soft acknowledgment.

Seeing An Yu respond, a flash of delight appeared in Shen Huahua’s eyes. 

She had guessed right—An Yu really didn’t seem to mind talking to her!

“An Yu classmate!” As if to confirm, she called again.

“Mm?” An Yu looked slightly puzzled.

Though An Yu’s face was full of question marks, she had still answered. 

A strong sense of accomplishment welled up in Shen Huahua’s heart.

An Yu is actually paying attention to me!

“Hehe.”

Shen Huahua grinned foolishly and scratched the back of her head.

She had always sat to An Yu’s left, but only today did she realize An Yu didn’t seem that hard to approach after all.

An Yu’s eyes were half-lidded as she looked speechlessly at Shen Huahua, not understanding what she was grinning about.

Whatever. Too lazy to care.

An Yu lowered her head, planning to take out her phone and play for a bit. 

Class was over anyway.

“Ah…”

Who would understand—she had ruined everything just by grinning like an idiot.

Very regrettably, Shen Huahua had no more candy. 

Otherwise she could have tried seeing if An Yu would talk to her again.

“Um, An Yu classmate, see you later~”

This time An Yu didn’t respond. 

A little fish already immersed in the ocean of her phone couldn’t hear useless information.

Anyway, phones were really fun.

Seeing that An Yu clearly had no intention of paying attention to her anymore, Shen Huahua tactfully turned and left, not disturbing her further. 

Instead, she went to find her new friend.

Shen Huahua quickly walked over and stopped in front of another girl’s desk.

“Hehe, guess who I just had an amazing chat with?”

“Who?” 

The girl’s voice carried a hint of helplessness.

“Hey, I told you to guess!”

“Then guess whether I’ll guess or not.”

Shen Huahua blinked, a little deflated, and shook her head. 

“Ugh, seriously! I went through all this effort for you, and you won’t even play along a little!”

“For me?” 

The girl looked at Shen Huahua in confusion.

“Fine, if you won’t guess, I’ll just keep it mysterious~” Shen Huahua smiled. 

“I’ll give you a nice little surprise later!”

With that, Shen Huahua jogged back to her own seat.

The girl was her new friend—a super academic overachiever who could answer any question. Really amazing.

There was just one thing: Shen Huahua had noticed that sometimes the girl would zone out staring at An Yu.

Mm…

That wasn’t too strange, right? 

If Shen Huahua herself hadn’t given in to curiosity today, she would also have thought An Yu was super hard to approach!

So wanting to get to know An Yu but being too scared to talk to her was perfectly normal.

After the next class, she would drag her new bestie over to make friends!
