Something’s off— no, nine out of ten things are off.
It must be that I restarted in the wrong way.
How could I, a villainous scoundrel, possibly have touched the heroine’s delicate feet… Impossible, absolutely impossible! There must be some mistake here.
Kane’s eyes were calm, utterly composed, sitting at the edge of the bed with a fresh, relaxed expression.
He firmly believed the problem wasn’t with him, but with this world.
Until a timid voice suddenly made Kane’s heart skip a beat, almost missing half a beat altogether.
“They’re all dirty now…”
Just half an arm’s length away from Kane, Princess Vanessa was peeling off her soiled Black Stockings from her smooth, snow-white legs.
Because her toes had just been working hard a moment ago, a faint heat still lingered on the girl’s rosy soles, covered in a thin sheen of fragrant sweat.
Even the dirty stockings that fell to the floor seemed to pulse with the breath of life.
Good news: Kane had surpassed his limits.
Bad news: It was all gone again.
But there was one thing he had to admit— Princess Vanessa and Enya felt completely different.
If Enya was a wild kitten always looking to bite her master, then Princess Vanessa was a golden retriever who cared for her master at every moment.
Lively and energetic, full of vitality.
But you couldn’t spoil her too much.
Otherwise, once she started acting up, there’d be no holding her back.
An unruly golden retriever was even harder to control than a husky…
Kane gritted his teeth and reluctantly averted his gaze. As he lifted his head, he happened to meet Princess Vanessa’s cool, emotionless eyes.
Those amber eyes, as always, revealed nothing of her mood, making it impossible to guess what she was thinking.
It was as if the previous experience had been nothing but an illusion.
What on earth is this woman thinking?
Wasn’t she supposed to have absolutely no interest in me?
Why would she do something like this?
Could it be she’s trying to get leverage over me for the future?
Kane was about to return to the Capital.
As the first person to be stripped of his status and then regain his place among the Nobles, if handled properly, it would be easy to make a splash and stir up a huge commotion among the Nobles.
That must be her plan…
Thinking this, Kane opened his mouth to speak:
“You…”
“Want to touch again?”
“Uh, huh?!”
There was barely a second between their exchanges.
Princess Vanessa, having taken off her stockings, extended her bare, delicate foot right in front of Kane.
The defenseless food was laid out, completely exposed before him.
It was waiting for a true gourmet to savor it.
And the only one worthy of that title was none other than Kane.
“Aren’t you going to touch?”
But Kane didn’t move for a long moment. Princess Vanessa, as if teasing a dog, wiggled her foot up and down in front of him, making him want to pounce and take a bite the moment he saw it.
“N-no, I won’t.”
Kane bit his lip and stomped his foot, turning his head away like a real man, determined.
His eyes were crystal clear.
This time, no matter what happened, he absolutely would not give in to temptation again.
“Are you really not going to touch?”
The next second, Princess Vanessa’s tone dropped a few degrees colder.
Kane shivered, almost losing his composure, but his answer remained the same.
“I’m not touching!”
With clear eyes and his pants back on, he was the very picture of resolve.
“Think carefully, don’t regret it later.”
Princess Vanessa spoke coldly.
Goodness, she was even threatening him directly now.
Kane sneered inwardly, secretly glad he’d controlled himself— otherwise, he’d have fallen right into this witch’s trap.
So what if it’s humiliation? If you’ve got the guts, keep coming! He’d even been imprisoned by a yandere before—what was there left to fear?
Kane squeezed his eyes shut, silently awaiting the judgment of his ill-tempered Fiancée.
But after a long while, nothing happened.
Not only that, Kane sensed the food that had been right in front of him quickly moving away.
When he opened his eyes, Princess Vanessa had already draped his coat over herself and walked to the door.
As soon as she opened the door, Seth, who had been eavesdropping with her ear pressed to the door, tumbled in from outside.
Seth rolled and crawled across the floor, her pair of large “rabbits” squashed out of shape by the impact.
With Kane left in nothing but his underwear and Seth sprawled on the floor, they stared at each other in dead silence— a bizarre, chilling atmosphere.
After two seconds, Seth fished out the Communication Rune Stone and held it to her ear:
“What? Your grandma’s getting married tomorrow? Sure, sure, I’ll definitely be there.”
Shouting loudly as she walked out, Seth acted like a total stranger just passing by, as if nothing had happened in the room— she’d heard nothing, seen nothing.
“Seth.”
But just as she stepped out the door, Princess Vanessa called out coldly, without a hint of emotion:
“Hiding matters concerning the Royalty without permission is a serious crime. Whatever you saw, you saw. Don’t conceal anything, understand?”
As soon as her words fell, Seth responded in a powerful, resounding voice without the slightest pause:
“Yes, Your Highness! To serve Your Highness with utmost devotion, until death!”
Seth straightened her back, chest out, standing tall and unyielding like a guardian deity, her gaze raised at a 45° angle to the ceiling— determined, as if ready to join the party.
Only then did Princess Vanessa nod in satisfaction.
“Meeting in the conference room in half an hour to discuss the Truth Cultist Capture Plan.”
Leaving those words behind, Princess Vanessa strode away on her long legs, now clad in only one Black Stocking.
That valiant, upright figure, even after disappearing from view for a long time, remained deeply imprinted in his mind, hard to shake off.
“That scared me to death.” Seth patted her chest and let out a long breath. She glared at Kane. “Honestly, you two— can’t you pick a better place to relieve stress? Good thing it was me who walked in. Otherwise, you’d really be in trouble.”
“Can you not talk right now? I want to be alone.”
Kane sat in haggard silence, his gaze empty.
He looked like a man who could no longer fight.
Seth immediately understood, sat down beside him, and patted Kane’s shoulder.
When Kane looked up, she comforted him:
“It’s fine, everyone’s first time is like this.”
“It’s not your fault Her Highness didn’t enjoy herself.”
“Wash your face and get up. Tonight, Lady Aunt will have someone make you a pot of Ten Whip Tonic Soup to help you recover.”
A vein throbbed on Kane’s forehead as he gritted his teeth. “Which of your eyes saw that I was too quick?”
Seth said nothing, her gaze drifting silently into the distance.
The dirty Black Stockings Princess Vanessa had just taken off still lay there, quietly radiating their lingering warmth.
Come on, sis, at least clean up your own stuff.
Oh, wait, that’s not yours.
Never mind— no, wait, now it’s really impossible to explain!
Kane numbly rubbed his head with both hands.
Seth solemnly patted his shoulder again and, as a “veteran” (even though she was an old virgin with no experience, she was an elder and an adult, so she counted as a veteran), she comforted him:
“It’s fine, there’s still time to recover. After all, there are three years until your Graduation and Marriage. Plenty of time to get your body back in shape.”
“I told you, that’s not what happened…”
Kane’s face turned purple with rage, veins bulging in his neck, his narrow windpipe like a pump, his heart feeling as if it had been gouged open.
Just as he was about to shout and denounce everything, he froze for a second:
“Graduation and Marriage? Who? Who’s getting married?”
“You and Princess Vanessa, of course.” Seth’s tone was matter-of-fact, her eyes saying, ‘Is this kid still half-asleep?’
“No, what marriage? Didn’t we already have our Marriage Contract annulled?”
Kane shot to his feet in agitation. He remembered clearly that after he was exiled, the annulment papers had been handed to him.
But Seth scratched her head, as if looking at an indecipherable book:
“Did that happen?”
“Yes.” Kane was certain.
“Oh, then maybe the higher-ups just forgot.” Seth waved it off nonchalantly. “Anyway, there was never any official announcement that your Marriage Contract was dissolved. Strictly speaking, your contract’s always been in effect.”
“Her Highness Princess Vanessa has always been your Fiancée. That’s never changed.”
Kane: “?”
