Wake up!
Xia Guang steadily carried the unconscious Yun Ruoxi out of the banquet hall.
Swish!
Her twin wings flapped behind her, and her whole body soared into the air, the butterfly wings tracing a graceful arc through the corridor.
Where she passed, a slender rainbow trail stretched out, her figure moving so fast it was reduced to a blurred black shadow.
Most of the trainees only felt a sweet, fragrant breeze brush their faces.
By the time they looked up in realization, that figure had already become a distant, blurry black dot.
Just as she reached the entrance of the First Squad training room, 0001, who was about to start training, seemed to sense something early.
His purple eyes shifted slightly as he looked toward the far end of the corridor.
Xia Guang and the blue-haired girl she held in her arms were all clearly within his sight.
He nodded thoughtfully, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“Interesting.”
Xia Guang’s figure continued to fly past the Second Squad, the Third Squad…
From the dormitory to the cafeteria to the training rooms—a journey that normally took half an hour on foot—
She covered the distance in less than a minute.
At that moment, Lin Zhen and the others, having just finished dinner, arrived at the entrance of the Third Squad training room.
A shadow suddenly streaked past.
Lin Zhen instinctively turned his head and caught a flash of striking blue within the shadow.
His expression changed abruptly.
Looking toward Xia Guang’s direction, it was clearly heading toward the treatment room!
Could something have happened?
But Yun Ruoxi had only left less than twenty minutes ago!
“You guys go ahead and train. I have something I need to take care of first. I’ll come find you later.”
Lin Zhen didn’t have time to explain further.
Having said that, he didn’t wait for a response and immediately turned to pursue the direction Xia Guang had disappeared into.
“Hey!”
“Wait!” Kaios reached out to stop him but grabbed at empty air.
He could only grumble to the retreating back, “What’s so urgent? At least tell us what’s going on!”
The black-haired youth Yun Che subtly nodded, silently agreeing with his friend.
Tie An laughed good-naturedly, “Maybe it’s some private matter that’s inconvenient to talk about. I used to like to sleep with my brother, but ever since he grew up, he stopped letting me. He even locks his door at night to keep me out.”
Disgusting.
“I get it. Lin Zhen’s ready to take off.”
“That just flew past was Xia Guang and Yun Ruoxi, right? So, does this mean they’re about to recreate a classic moment like with Dian Zhenji?”
“Taking off toward Xiao Xi? That’s really something.”
“Tie An’s brother looks like a competent pilot.”
The Third Squad training room’s door silently opened, and Kaios and the others prepared to enter and begin their training.
Zi Jiu, who hadn’t spoken and had been staring at the end of the corridor, suddenly squinted his eyes and spoke coldly:
“You guys go ahead and train. I’m going to go see what’s happening.”
Without looking back, he hurried after them.
“Hey, not again?”
Kaios reached out in vain once more, his face flushed red with frustration.
“Fine, fine. Everyone’s got their personal business, huh? Let’s see how you’ll explain it when you don’t finish your training tasks!”
He turned and saw Yun Che also about to follow, which only made him even more furious:
“What? You’re coming too?”
“Yeah, I’m just going to check it out. I’ll be back in time for training,” Yun Che said nonchalantly, following along with the eager Tie An.
Kaios was left standing alone at the training room door.
He glanced at his retreating companions, then at the virtual helmets inside, suddenly feeling like an outsider.
A passing trainee looked curiously at him, apparently wondering why he wasn’t going in.
Kaios blushed furiously, muttered, “What are you looking at?” and finally hurried after them.
***
The treatment room was empty.
Xia Guang placed the curled-up Yun Ruoxi, who had a frown between her brows, into the capsule-shaped Zhiliaoyi.
Just as she was about to step away, a small hand tightly grabbed the hem of her clothes.
Her brows furrowed; she was about to pull free, but then she suddenly heard the blue-haired girl mumbling indistinctly inside the Zhiliaoyi.
Xia Guang, who had some curiosity about Yun Ruoxi—who had caught the attention of such a powerful figure as the Overlord—leaned closer to listen.
After a moment, her expression grew complicated, and a faint softness flashed subtly in her cold green eyes.
With a gentle sigh, Xia Guang carefully pried open the tightly clenched hand and folded it over the girl’s chest.
She then closed the Zhiliaoyi’s glass cover.
Hum!
The Zhiliaoyi slowly activated.
Xia Guang turned to see the panting youth at the door.
“What are you doing here? Finished your training for the night?”
Her expression turned cold and silent; her tone was dangerous, and the overwhelming pressure of her Star Energy was unleashed without concealment.
Lin Zhen’s face instantly turned pale.
In his eyes, Xia Guang’s figure twisted, morphing from a stunning queen-like woman into a shapeless mass of pitch-black horror.
The production team at this moment even applied a special effect.
The entire screen went black except for Lin Zhen and the terrifying Xia Guang visible in his view.
“Kingly Haki, huh?”
“Wrong. That’s Spiritual Pressure.”
“I… I’m here to see her.”
Lin Zhen gritted his teeth, each word seeming squeezed out from between clenched jaws.
Under the terrifying Star Energy pressure, just saying those words took all his strength.
“You’re here to see her? Don’t you know romance is forbidden in the battle camp?” Xia Guang narrowed her eyes dangerously.
“Don’t drag others down.”
But despite saying that, she suddenly withdrew her pressure.
Lin Zhen, now able to breathe freely, almost collapsed.
He forced his body upright and defended, “We’re just friends.”
“If that’s the case, then stay with her. Don’t leave until she wakes up.”
Xia Guang scoffed and turned to leave the training room.
Lin Zhen didn’t object; or rather, he was surprised how lightly Xia Guang punished him.
Watching Xia Guang’s departing figure, he vaguely felt maybe this instructor wasn’t as utterly ruthless as the others in the battle camp.
Shaking his head, Lin Zhen hurried over to the Zhiliaoyi again and gazed through the glass at the girl’s pale face.
Heavy darkness, all-consuming flames, the Overlord’s maniacal laughter, and the Star Pirates…….
After a year, Yun Ruoxi had dreamed once again of that night that changed her life.
She knew why she had this dream.
Starchen Frost was forcibly activating her brain domain, but her fragile body couldn’t bear it.
So her body naturally called up the deepest memories in her mind to stimulate her will to survive.
This was also another function of Starchen Frost—it could be used to awaken parts of memory even the person themselves might have forgotten.
But unfortunately, it was meaningless to her.
Yun Ruoxi’s will to survive was strong.
She simply did not want to die.
These memories, conjured up, did nothing but force her to relive her helpless shame.
She even suspected this might be another method the Overlord used to humiliate her.
She truly did not know how she had offended him, for him to go to such lengths to shame her.
“What a boring trick.”
Yun Ruoxi resignedly sat on the floor and, out of sight, started watching the anime playing in the top right corner.
