Chapter 5: Little Thoughts

Zhe Zilin’s stomach growled loudly.

He did not know how long he had been unconscious.

He was so hungry that stars were dancing in front of his eyes.

Seeing Ailia standing to the side, twisting her body shyly as if imagining some wonderful and unspeakable good thing, her face grew even more flushed.

He could not help but speak up.

“Ailia, before you sit me to death with that big butt of yours, can you at least let me die a full ghost?”

Ailia looked up in surprise.

She came back to her senses and finally heard the protest coming from Zhe Zilin’s stomach.

She quickly walked to the table.

While the food was still warm, she arranged the knife and fork, then poured two glasses of fine wine.

“Ed, I fried some steak and baked some bread. I was worried you wouldn’t be full, so I also stewed a pot of meat.”

Just listening to the description made Zhe Zilin’s mouth water.

He immediately sat down at the table, picked up the knife and fork, and prepared to dig in.

He took another sip in disbelief and praised, “Did you brew this? I’ve never tasted such mellow and rich wine before.”

He swallowed a large mouthful of food.

He picked up the bowl of meat soup and quietly spat the wine he had been holding under his tongue into the soup.

Ailia’s action of pouring the wine had not escaped his notice.

Although he was dizzy with hunger, he had remained vigilant the entire time.

In a beautiful mood, she began eating the food on her own plate and murmured to herself, “I’m so happy. This is the first time I’ve eaten together with Ed inside the castle.”

“I didn’t expect you to like the food I made so much. I’m really happy.”

She cut off a piece of beef and put it into her mouth, eating it with great relish.

Zhe Zilin glanced at her.

Only after she swallowed the beef did he finally put aside the thought of dying as a full ghost rather than a starving one.

He let out a breath of relief and said, “Isn’t this much better than making me lose my memory and turning me into an idiot?”

Ailia did not answer immediately.

“As long as Ed doesn’t leave Ailia, Ailia will never feed you medicine again.”

Zhe Zilin shook his head.

He rested his chin on his hand with an expression of surprise.

“Ailia, you’re acting a little strange today.”

“N-no, am I?”

Ailia was also confused.

She put down her knife and fork.

Both hands rested on her lap.

“Strange in a cute way.”

Ailia smiled sweetly.
