The morning light filtered through the window as Selim stretched lazily, crawling out from the warm covers.
“Mm, good morning. I slept so well last night.”
“Did something happen during the night? Do you know, Sophia?”
Selim sat face-to-face with Sophia in a W-sit.
“No… nothing happened.” Sophia had actually been awake for a long time, but she had been lying quietly, not daring to move. She only sat up now following Selim’s lead.
She unconsciously toyed with the ends of her hair, her gaze stealing a glance at Selim’s face before quickly dropping back down. “Re-really, nothing happened. Don’t overthink it…”
“Really?” Selim looked at Sophia, intentionally tapping her own lips with a finger, her meaning clear. “Then why did you deny it twice?”
“You’re lying, aren’t you?”
“I’m not lying, truly.” A faint blush quickly spread to the tips of Sophia’s ears.
“Tch, stingy.” Selim made a face at Sophia. “Did you think I wouldn’t be able to guess just because you won’t say it, Sophia?”
“What… what did you guess?” Sophia’s heartbeat seemed clearly audible in the quiet room, and she couldn’t help but ask in return.
“Isn’t the answer simple?” Selim chuckled, her finger unintentionally sliding across the back of Sophia’s hand.
“Since I slept so soundly, it must be because…” Before she could finish, she suddenly lunged forward, pinning the defenseless Sophia down onto the soft bed.
She wrapped her arms tightly around Sophia’s warm, soft body, burying her face deep into the other’s chest, greedily inhaling that reassuring scent.
“I slept so well because I was in Sophia’s warm embrace, right?”
Because they were so close, Selim could hear Sophia’s increasingly rapid, vigorous heartbeat even through the layers of flesh.
“Stop… stop messing around.” Sophia’s voice carried a hint of panic.
Sophia’s legs were still caught at Selim’s sides. Last night, she had subconsciously pulled the other girl into her arms like a doll.
Thinking of the impulsive, transgressive move she had made last night made Sophia feel even more bashful and embarrassed when facing Selim.
Sophia rolled over, and due to their positions, she managed to flip Selim over, pinning Selim beneath her.
Looking down from above, Sophia gazed at the Selim beneath her—with a hint of tears in the corners of her eyes and a certain laziness in her bare shoulders, Sophia couldn’t help but want to kiss her again. Ultimately, however, reason triumphed over emotion.
“Hurry and get up. If we’re late, we’ll have to pay for another day’s stay.”
Sophia scrambled off Selim as if fleeing and began to pack their luggage to the side.
“Tch…” Selim gritted her teeth. She was a bit unhappy now; she had encountered a situation she hadn’t anticipated.
She reached down to feel, only to touch some sticky substance.
As a consistent “top,” she liked the feeling of being in control. Teasing Sophia from the moment they woke up was born from this mindset.
However, her body didn’t think the same way. When Sophia had pinned her down, her body had actually cooperated quite readily, and even her strength to resist had weakened by several degrees.
She had been one step away from being plucked.
This could not be tolerated! She had to become stronger!
Selim made up her mind, not just to face her enemies, but to avoid becoming someone who could only let out heavy moans.
If this continued, it was hard to say who would eat whom. She believed her frailty was an act, not something innate to her core.
Selim never wanted to become a “bottom” at the mercy of others. The initiative had to remain in her own hands. If she didn’t nod, no one would be allowed to cross the line.
Even though she was the one who had proactively teased Sophia and stirred up the other’s desires, setting aside the facts for a moment, Sophia’s failure to obediently cooperate and her subsequent “turning of the tables” was practically an act of rebellion!
The “education” still wasn’t thorough enough.
From today on, no more lust—it’s time for business!
Selim took several deep breaths. Relying on her powerful willpower, she finally forced down those untimely bodily reactions, and her breathing gradually leveled out.
Several pieces of clothing were held out in front of Selim.
“Do you… do you need me to help you dress?” Sophia asked tentatively, having brought over Selim’s clothes.
“Forget it, you’re tired too. I’ll do it myself.” Selim took the clothes. Catching Sophia’s slightly dazed gaze, she couldn’t help but frown slightly.
She pulled the clothes tight against her chest, a mischievous flush intentionally appearing on her fair cheeks. “What, do you want to watch me change?”
“Oh, right.” Sophia finally snapped out of it and hurriedly turned around.
Sophia was currently a bit dazed. She felt that she likely loved Selim, but she still felt at a loss and constrained by this unconventional, twisted form of love.
However, she didn’t hate the way things were now. In Sophia’s view, since the two of them had signed the seal, they had plenty of time to get along. Eventually, everything would fall into place naturally.
Sophia’s current preoccupation with Selim’s body was merely a temporary curiosity toward the forbidden after having a first taste of it.
A long-term companionship, calm as water, was the intimate relationship Sophia truly looked forward to in her heart.
Sophia wasn’t in a hurry. After all, it seemed the only other person with a connection to Selim in this regard was Charles.
And Charles, while technically Selim’s fiancé in the eyes of the world, was destined not to end up with her given the current situation.
As for Sharn…
Sophia frowned, then relaxed. The woman had Bart as a husband and felt only a mix of maternal love and gratitude toward Selim. She was essentially no threat.
Rounding it all up, this was a guaranteed win. It wasn’t as if a competitor would suddenly jump out of nowhere.
“Hehe.” Thinking of this, Sophia couldn’t help but chuckle softly, unaware that Selim, behind her, gave a start at the sound.
That simple laugh made Selim steal a glance at Sophia. She admitted she was a bit scared now.
[You’re not planning to have your way with me right now, are you…?]
Unless she was the one on the offensive, Selim was unwilling to go any further. The distinction between the dominant and the submissive was of vital importance!
With the help of her soul tentacles, Selim changed into new undergarments and dressed with extreme speed, choosing not to give Sophia any more “fan service.”
Until Sophia’s emotions cooled down, she decided not to make any more provocative moves.
“Alright, let’s head back.” Selim commanded her soul tentacles and sat upright in her wheelchair. “Any longer and those fellows will start to get suspicious. We can’t afford to be exposed yet.”
“Mhm.” Sophia nodded and pushed the wheelchair out of the room.
After settling the bill at the inn, the two of them walked toward the manor.
Selim closed her eyes, thinking about the areas where she could exercise her own initiative in the future.
Sophia wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Selim had been frighteningly quiet since the morning. However, seeing her lost in thought with her eyes closed, Sophia didn’t feel right saying anything and continued to play her role as the one pushing the chair.
Just as they were about to reach the manor gates, a slightly pudgy figure was seen hurrying out from inside.
“Good morning, Eldest Young Lady, and the Demon Hunter lady.” He gave Selim and Sophia a brief greeting and prepared to leave.
“Stop right there!” Selim opened her eyes, a flash of coldness passing through her red pupils.
“My dear Butler,” she spoke in a soft tone that nonetheless carried invisible pressure, “why aren’t you staying in the manor to fulfill your duties? Where are you off to in such a hurry, Eric?”
“I wouldn’t dare call myself ‘Lord’ before the Young Lady.” Eric immediately bowed, his face plastered with a fawning smile.
“Did I give you permission to leave the manor at will? Or must I, the Young Lady, fulfill your duties for you?” Selim pressed him, hoping to squeeze some information out of him.
“I just need to step out to handle some minor matters.” Although Eric was already quite annoyed by Selim’s pressuring attitude, his status forced him to patiently play along.
“Oh? Minor matters?” A cold smile curved Selim’s lips. “Then leave it to someone else. You, go make a dessert for me right now.”
“Is a master’s order not a higher priority than these ‘minor matters’ you speak of?” Selim clasped her hands. “So, right now, get back inside!”
“My apologies, Young Lady, but I must refuse.” Eric sighed, putting on an air of lamentation. “There’s been a bit of trouble at the mines over in the mountains. I must handle it personally.”
“I am doing this not only for the family’s interests, but also for your reputation in this region, Young Lady!”
“Oh, so that’s how it is.” Selim waved her hand as if shooing a fly, speaking in a disinterested tone. “Fine, go then. Just remember, don’t bring shame to the family name.”
“Yes, Young Lady.” Eric looked as if he had been granted a great mercy. He bowed and then vanished down the road with hurried steps.
“Let’s go.” Selim gave Sophia a look, signaling her to return to their room in the manor.
Selim muttered in a voice only she could hear.
“The People of the Mountains incident? It’s progressing faster than I imagined. Is this also part of the variables?”
