Inside the KTV Private Room, the lights were dazzling, and the music was deafening.
According to Lin Wei’s personality, she was naturally the undisputed karaoke queen among the few people present.
As soon as she entered the room, she immediately selected several cheerful songs, leaving the central spot for Cheng Qinghuan and the others, while she pulled Yu Qing to sit beside her near the edge.
“Yiyi, what do you want to sing? I’ll pick it for you!”
Lin Wei handed the song selection screen to Yu Qing, her bright smile radiant.
Are we really going to sing?
Yu Qing looked at the densely packed song list on the screen, feeling a little troubled.
What songs do freshmen usually sing?
She had no idea at all.
Yu Qing herself usually listened to independent or instrumental music, not much into pop songs.
This was a bit of a headache.
“For me… anything is fine. You guys sing first, I’ll just listen.”
After thinking it over, she decided to hold back for now, choosing to decline.
Her sweet voice sounded especially gentle amidst the noise of the room.
“How can that be!”
Lin Wei was relentless.
Her cheeks puffed up, with an expression that said ‘Yiyi, what would I do without you’, making Yu Qing almost burst out laughing.
Lin Wei herself didn’t notice this and just continued speaking, “Since we’re here, we have to sing!”
“Um… then how about I pick the song you hummed last time for Yiyi? I think it sounded super nice! Let me look for it…”
After finishing, she started searching on the screen by herself.
Again?
I’m begging you, Weiwei, please stop raising the difficulty for me.
Yu Qing felt a headache coming on, probably because of Lin Wei.
Of all things to say, why mention the song from last time?
Last time?
Which last time?
Was it a song the freshmen hummed, or something she hummed unconsciously after transforming?
She had no memory of it, but she couldn’t act too strange either. So she forced herself to nod and agreed for now.
“Um… okay.”
After picking songs for both herself and Yu Qing, Lin Wei took the song screen to the others, fully displaying her social butterfly skills.
Before long, the Backstage was filled with many songs.
Once the songs were selected, the four began singing in turns.
Lin Wei was the first, unsurprisingly choosing a lively song, bouncing around as she sang.
The other two girls picked more peaceful songs that Yu Qing hadn’t really heard before but thought sounded nice.
As for Li Ming, he surprised Yu Qing. He chose a love song and sang it passionately to Cheng Qinghuan, but his tone made Yu Qing want to laugh.
She didn’t expect her refined and polite roommate, who always acted classy, to be such a music fool.
If he didn’t already have a girlfriend, even in her current form as Fu Yi, she might’ve wanted to tease him a bit.
But seeing Cheng Qinghuan’s expression become softer and happier, perhaps this was what people called Love.
Yu Qing was thoughtful. She wasn’t completely clueless about Love, and seeing this scene made her long for it a little.
Tsk.
Stop daydreaming.
This kind of thing, at least before reaching your goals, is impossible.
Yu Qing lowered her eyes, pushing these messy thoughts aside, quickly adjusting herself to continue being a good listener.
Before long, it was Yu Qing’s turn to sing.
The room quieted, everyone watching her curiously, eager to hear how wonderful the School Belle’s voice truly was.
If your expectations are too high, you might end up disappointed.
The prelude began—a gentle, somewhat melancholic love song.
Was this the one Lin Wei picked for her?
Yu Qing wasn’t sure; at least it wasn’t something she usually listened to.
She was a bit surprised that the freshmen liked this style.
Fortunately, the melody wasn’t too difficult.
She could sing along with the accompaniment.
Staring at the lyrics on the screen, Yu Qing took a deep breath, gripping the microphone.
She hadn’t sung much before; even when going to KTV with family, she would only pick a few Divine Armament Little Generals Theme Songs.
But at least she wasn’t as tone-deaf as Li Ming.
As the accompaniment started, Yu Qing opened her mouth softly.
Though she didn’t know how to sing the song well, she knew how to best bring out the beauty of the freshmen’s voice.
This was undoubtedly linked to her deep appreciation and exploration of this body.
Predictably, there were parts where she drifted away from the accompaniment, but as the notes passed through her throat, the effect was surprisingly good.
The freshmen’s voice was naturally beautiful.
Even with average technique, just following the melody, that clear and transparent sound carried its own reverberation, flowing gently through the room, with a fragile and ethereal beauty.
Although her singing differed from the accompaniment, it held its own unique charm thanks to her voice.
When the song ended, the room was silent for a few seconds before erupting into applause and praise.
“Wow! Fu Yi, your singing is so beautiful!”
Sun Ya’s eyes shimmered with aftertaste, sincerely complimenting her.
Li Ming clapped as well, his mind clearing, replaced by admiration.
As for Lin Wei, she had already buried her face in her hands halfway through Yu Qing’s singing, making Yu Qing almost break character in shock.
The culprit now looked at Yu Qing, face flushed red.
As expected, I knew the freshmen couldn’t sing this kind of song.
So this idiot picked it herself and was too embarrassed at the end.
So pure.
Yu Qing laughed secretly, her expression still gentle.
She stroked Lin Wei’s hair, running her fingers from her head down to her waist, smoothing the messy strands like petting a cat.
“It’s nothing… I was just singing randomly.”
Yu Qing pretended to be shy, making herself seem more real and cute.
Then, leaning close to Lin Wei’s ear, she forced herself to overcome the stiffness in her body and whispered to the dazed idiot:
“I’ll deal with you properly when we get back~”
Seeing Lin Wei shiver all over, Yu Qing’s eyes sparkled slightly. Knowing her words had been received, the next steps became clear.
Happy times always passed quickly.
Here, Yu Qing could fully enjoy the pleasures of playing the freshmen.
Whether it was cuddling with girls or the advantage of natural beauty, her endless vanity was briefly satisfied.
They took turns singing, and Yu Qing was pulled by Lin Wei to duet a cheerful song.
She hadn’t heard it before, but singing with Lin Wei made it unexpectedly fun.
Most of the time, she just sat quietly beside Lin Wei, listening to everyone sing and acting as Lin Wei’s pillow.
She enjoyed the moments when Lin Wei ‘accidentally’ got close to her, while pondering how to punish this idiot later.
