Entering the old castle, there were already many Maids in the grand hall on the first floor, all of them of different racesโmore accurately, monster girl Maids.
The moment the unfamiliar Chu Yin appeared, the Maids shot him cold, hostile glances.
But as soon as Spider Sister emerged from behind him, all those icy stares vanished.
Misunderstanding resolvedโit turned out he was a friend.
โIs this child Lady Xuejinโs new servant? Or am I imagining things? He seems to be just an ordinary human child,โ
the Maid Commander inquired.
She had a pair of demon horns, and the bustier of her Maid dress was trimmed with lace, just enough to cover the equator, while the northern hemisphere stood high and proud, exuding an imposing aura.
Not just the Commander; the other Maids were also uniformly dressed in northern hemisphere bustiers.
As they walked in white silk high heels, Chu Yin couldnโt help but think of ice cream snowballsโtwo big scoops stuffed into a single cone, full to the brim, pressing against each other, seemingly ready to bounce out at any moment.
Spider Sisterโs aura in the bust dimension was no less impressive. She pulled Chu Yin to her side and introduced him:
โYes, heโs a child I took in by chance. The Master is very fond of him. By the way, are there any other witch ladies here? If so, I should go pay my respects.โ
โThere arenโt. Do you need to arrange a new room for this child?โ
โHe can just stay with me.โ
After this simple exchange, Spider Sister led Chu Yin to a guest room.
This was her assigned room in the witchesโ gathering place. Even though Lady Xuejin hadnโt visited with her servants for many years, this room was always reserved for themโoutsiders would never be allowed in.
But then again, it was rare for outsiders to ever come to this old castle.
Besides the star-witchโs Maids, the rest were witches scattered across the lands.
Chu Yin adapted to the new environment for a while, soon relaxing and diving onto the big bed, giving his review:
โThis Velvet Bed really is soft, but itโs still not as comfortable as the Suspended Bed that Spider Sister wove for me~โ
Spider Sister chuckled and said,
โYou say itโs comfortable, but youโve been complaining all week that you canโt sleep, insisting you have to sleep in the Masterโs arms.โ
โHehe, thatโs not the same! My naps are always on the Suspended Bed!โ
After he finished, Chu Yin curiously asked about the castleโs Maids:
โArenโt they really strong? They seem even more powerful than that electric-tailed leopard we ran into before.โ
โYes, you could think of them asโฆ the Star Witchโs Daughters.โ
โDaughters? That many?โ Chu Yin was startled.
What surprised him even more was their varied races.
In the hall just now, you could hardly find two Maids of the same kind. If all of them were the Star Witchโs Daughters, then she must have too many husbandsโand quite a range of them, too.
At this point, she shouldnโt be called the Star Witch, but the Sex Jade Witchโฆ
Spider Sister didnโt realize he was letting his imagination run wild. She explained:
โTheyโre not born, but created. Every witch has her own way of easing her magical power. The Star Witch refuses to leave the astrology platform even half a step, so she creates powerful Daughters to expend her magic.โ
โSo that works too.โ Chu Yin was enlightened.
โAll right, little one, time for bed.โ
Spider Sister had no intention of chatting any further. She grabbed him by the collar, tucked him under the covers, and turned off the lights to sleep.
The next morning, Chu Yinโs internal clock woke him up.
He used to greet his witch aunt every morning, but now, looking at this lavish and unfamiliar ceiling, he felt completely out of place.
After sitting up and looking around, he ended up crawling back into Spider Sisterโs arms.
The woman stroked his black hair, laughing softly as she said,
โNow that the Masterโs not around, youโve decided to laze about and indulge yourself?โ
โNo, I just donโt know what Iโm supposed to be doing.โ
Chu Yin knew in his head that he had lots to doโhe could practice Sword Technique and so onโbut he lacked the motivation to get out of bed.
He never would have expected that having no familiar face nearby would sap his drive so much!
โIf you donโt know what to do, drink your potion first and think about it later.โ
Spider Sister pulled a bottle of magic potion, still warm from her body temperature, out of her deep cleavageโprobably to keep Chu Yinโs stomach from getting cold, sheโd kept it warm for him all night.
Chu Yin thanked her, unscrewed the cap, and gulped it down.
He caught a pleasant milky scent at the tip of his nose, but as soon as it hit his mouth, it was bitter magic potionโa big letdown.
This batch of potion was called [Potion of Hundred-Eyed Storm], capable of improving his vision in all directions, but the side effect was temporary blindness.
After drinking it, Chu Yinโs vision grew hazy and dim, but with focus, he could make things out clearly again. Even Spider Sisterโs caresses looked like they were happening in slow motion several times over.
โUntil the side effect wears off, little unlucky one, youโd better just stay put. With your luck, youโd trip and fall just walking a few steps.โ
โTrue,โ Chu Yin admitted honestly. โSpider Sister, what did you usually do when you lived here before?โ
โChatted with the Maids, helped out with their workโthe time goes by quickly, and before you know it, youโll be able to go back.โ
โLetโs hope so~โ
While waiting for the side effects to fade, Chu Yin pondered his plans for the next half-year. He couldnโt just waste all this time playing around.
Now that raising his witch auntโs favorability had been put on hold,
cultivating his own strength had become the top priority.
โPotions, Sword Techniqueโฆ what else is there for me to study?โ
โThe only thing left is magic.โ
โThereโs a Magic Library here. I can start with the most basic spells. Even if I canโt master them, I can at least become knowledgeable.โ
Knowing more about magic would at least give him something to talk about with his witch aunt.
Otherwise, whenever she and Spider Sister discussed such things, Chu Yin could only sit there wide-eyed, unable to follow a word.
โAnd thereโs Astrology MagicโI should find some beginner astrology books to study, and maybe Iโll get a chance for the Star Witch to give me some pointers.โ
After spending several long days at the witchesโ gathering place, the drowsiness called โAwakeningโ finally returned to Chu Yin.
Right after drinking the [Potion of Hundred-Eyed Storm], he was lying on the bed, waiting for the side effects to pass.
How convenient.
He shut his eyes and fell asleep.
When his consciousness returned to his body, Chu Yin opened his eyes to utter darkness, his chest feeling heavy.
His heart skipped a beat in alarm!
No way, did he bring the potionโs blindness side effect back with him?!
How was he supposed to explain this to Aunt Wen? First heโd had a fever, then sore eggs, now his eyesight had goneโwaking up to a new disaster every day.
But waitโin the dream, his vision was only blurry, not totally gone. Why was he completely blind upon waking?
As Chu Yin thought this over, he realized he was running out of air. Driven by the urge to survive, he instinctively twisted his neck and struggled.
When he finally pulled his head free from Aunt Wenโs embrace, Chu Yinโs world was flooded with lightโ
Turned out the whole family had been using him as a body pillow. Wen Chunhan and Yan Lingqi had both snuggled up, completely covering his head, and even Aunt Dongnuan was sleeping on her side, blocking the light from the side as well.
Chu Yin let out a sigh of reliefโheโd nearly thought he was really blind.
โโฆโฆโ
Turning to look at his cold, aloof auntโs sleeping face, he softly said,
โYo, Auntie, long time no see~โ
