“Siam, what are you grinning about? What’s this? A photo album?”
“Exactly! It’s a super deluxe cat photo album that my friend and I worked on for two years, meow!”
The adorable cat-eared girl held up the album as if it were some rare treasure.
Luo Shuangxing’s lips twitched slightly.
She could probably guess why Siam’s transformation was like this. With that level of obsession for cats, it’d be odd if her transformation didn’t have some feline elements.
A magical girl’s power comes from the heart, and Siam’s heart was entirely filled with cats.
“Wanna take a look, Lily?”
Siam waved the album in front of Luo Shuangxing, hoping to see a spark of eagerness in her eyes.
Unfortunately, Luo Shuangxing wasn’t falling for it.
While she also liked cute cats, her affection for them wasn’t as intense as Siam’s, and she had zero interest in an album full of cats.
No dice.
Siam quickly realized this and sighed with a hint of disappointment. She thought she could tease Lily a bit, but Lily wasn’t biting.
“By the way, I know a cat café that makes amazing coffee. Wanna check it out, Lily, meow?”
“Not really interested. Besides, the director specifically warned us not to reveal our true identities to others. Don’t forget that, Siam.”
Luo Shuangxing misunderstood Siam’s intention, thinking she wanted to go to the cat café together to drink coffee and pet cats.
Going to a place like that would mean not going in their transformed state, which would basically expose her real identity to Siam.
Compared to the reliable and gentle Rosemary-senpai, Luo Shuangxing didn’t trust Siam as much, and their bond wasn’t as deep. Naturally, she wasn’t willing to reveal her identity to her.
“I haven’t forgotten, meow. I was just mentioning it. Go or don’t, up to you, meow.”
Siam raised her head with a soft huff. If Lily didn’t trust her, well, she didn’t fully trust Lily either.
Cats are pretty cautious creatures, after all.
“Tch, give me the address. I’ll see just how good this coffee you’re bragging about is.”
“I’m back!”
Luo Shuangxing shouted into the house as she opened the door, her eyes subtly scanning the two pairs of shoes by the entrance.
One pair was newly bought by Sister Xia Mo, and the other seemed to belong to her brother.
Was she being too sensitive? she wondered to herself.
Sitting cross-legged on the couch watching TV, Luo Shuangyue heard her sister’s voice and responded with a half-hearted, “Oh, you’re back.”
It was as if Luo Shuangxing were some annoying pet they had to keep around.
This ticked Luo Shuangxing off.
“Bro! I heard about a really interesting place. Wanna check it out this weekend?”
“What place? Not another haunted house, is it? Last time, you and Xia Mo were so scared you could barely stand, and I had to drag both of you out…”
Luo Shuangyue raised an eyelid, glancing at her sister, wondering what scheme the little gremlin was cooking up.
“That was me giving you and Sister Xia Mo a chance to bond! Don’t blame me if you didn’t seize the opportunity!”
Mentioning the haunted house trip only made Luo Shuangxing angrier.
I came up with the idea to help you pursue Xia Mo, and you’re mocking me for it? You’re heartless, brother!
“Yeah, sure. You latched onto my arm the second we got in there. What kind of ‘opportunity’ was that?”
If it had just been Luo Shuangyue and Xia Mo, and Xia Mo had clung to his arm in fear, he’d have thanked his little sister.
But you had to butt in as a third wheel and grab my arm first. I’m already showing a lot of trust by not suspecting you’ve got ulterior motives, sis.
After all, your hair color’s the same as a certain infamous little sister.
“Clueless! This time it’s not a haunted house—it’s a café, a cat café!”
Luo Shuangxing glared at her brother.
She couldn’t outtalk him, and it was infuriating.
Sure, she admitted the haunted house was her fault. But she’d already brought her brother and Xia Mo there—wouldn’t it be a waste of the trip not to go in?
And when she got scared out of her wits inside, didn’t she just grab the nearest thing that felt safe?
Back then, it was either the trembling Xia Mo or her brother, who was all like, “Is that it?” Who else was she supposed to cling to?
“Cat café…”
Luo Shuangyue’s expression turned odd.
She’d just been to a cat café today, where the overly enthusiastic manager had made her drink four different kinds of coffee. They were delicious, sure, but four was way too much.
And then the café’s cats swarmed her again, pawing at her socks and climbing up her legs.
They were too enthusiastic—way more than she could handle.
She felt like the trauma from that cat café would linger for at least a month.
“Cat café? Sounds kinda nice.”
Before Luo Shuangyue could voice her objections, Xia Mo poked her head out from the room, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Of course, Xia Mo loved those fluffy little cuties.
“Fine, we’ll check it out this weekend.”
Seeing Xia Mo so excited, what else could Luo Shuangyue do?
He’d just have to pamper his wife.
