Chapter 42: Potato Chips

After finishing her afternoon nap, Bai Yurou continued coming to the living room. 

Ning Mu was still watching anime as usual.

Bai Yurou found a seat next to her and sat down. Ning Mu didn’t say anything. 

This had almost become a tacit understanding between them.

Cai Xiaotong’s door opened.

She poked half her head out from the room. 

Her white hair was extremely conspicuous under the light. 

Her red eyes turned, catching sight of the two curled up on the sofa.

She walked out and took a bag of potato chips from the coffee table in the living room.

This was what Ning Mu had told her—she could freely take the chips on the table. So as a foodie she also didn’t hold back.

However she wasn’t eating for free either. 

She had already ordered a big snack gift package online, preparing to enrich the dorm’s reserves.

“Watching Shoujo, huh. Good taste.”

The white-haired loli glanced at the TV screen and praised.

“Of course. This was recommended by my Rou Rou.”

Ning Mu said with some pride.

My Rou Rou?

Had their relationship already reached this stage? 

Clearly at the cosplay event before, Ning Mu hadn’t paid much attention to Bai Yurou.

One had to know that even now she could only call Bai Yurou the ordinary “Yu Rou.”

However she also didn’t put on a scene of “I was clearly first.” 

On the contrary, the better the relationship between these two, the happier she was.

Cai Xiaotong seemed to feel that staying in the living room as a third wheel wasn’t suitable either. 

After picking up the chips she returned to her own room and lightly closed the door.

On the other side, Ning Mu also seemed to be reminded by Cai Xiaotong’s action. She also opened a bag of potato chips and started eating.

This made Bai Yurou beside her start craving—don’t sit next to her and eat, and chew so loudly.

Actually the sound of Ning Mu chewing was a normal volume. 

It was just that because Bai Yurou was paying attention to the potato chips, the sound became very loud.

“Really not eating?”

Ning Mu seemed to have discovered Bai Yurou’s thoughts. She took out a chip and asked Bai Yurou.

Although there was oil, occasionally eating a few chips should be fine, right?

Young Miss Bai made up her mind.

“I’ll eat.”

Then without using her hand to take it, she directly lowered her head and bit the chip at Ning Mu’s fingertip in one mouthful.

So fragrant, so crispy. Bai Yurou squinted her eyes and slowly chewed, as if tasting some luxury good.

How long had it been since she last eaten this stuff?

Bai Yurou was still enjoying it. On the other side, Ning Mu noticed that Bai Yurou hadn’t used her hand to take it just now but had directly bitten with her mouth. 

She simply held out another chip and carefully placed it by Bai Yurou’s mouth.

Since I’ve already eaten it, Pandora’s box has already been opened. Then I might as well eat my fill this one time.

As Bai Yurou thought this, she accepted Ning Mu’s feeding.

Ning Mu also seemed to rather enjoy the process of feeding Young Miss Bai.

Right now in her eyes Bai Yurou looked exactly like a little rabbit. As long as she stretched her hand over, the little rabbit would bite in one mouthful, then chew on her own with puffed-out cheeks.

“What’s wrong?”

Bai Yurou was chewing the chips when she discovered Ning Mu seemed to be looking at her with a strange gaze and asked.

“Nothing.”

Ning Mu didn’t say out loud that she felt she was like a rabbit. Otherwise this young miss might fluff up her fur.

“I’m not eating anymore.”

After being fed more than half a bag of chips, Bai Yurou decided to stop.

If she kept eating like this, she might really have to go back into the hospital. 

She lightly pushed away the chip Ning Mu held out again, her tone carrying a trace of reluctance.

Ning Mu looked at her, confirmed that this young miss had truly made up her mind, then silently withdrew the pushed-away hand and put that chip into her own mouth.

After that, she finished the remaining chips in the bag together and threw the already empty chip bag into the trash can.

As evening approached, a message from Ye Hui popped up in the dorm group: she would handle dinner herself and go directly to the class meeting location later to gather.

Thus, the remaining three found a shop on the food street, simply settled dinner, and then walked together toward the teaching building.

The three of them quickly arrived at the classroom. Quite a few people were already sitting inside. 

At a glance they saw Ye Hui sitting in the corner of the classroom, with the seats beside her exactly empty.

It was probably Ye Hui deliberately holding them for them. 

After all, with that icy aura of hers, if someone wanted to sit beside her and asked “Is this seat taken?”, she only needed to answer icily “Yes,” and it would probably scare quite a few people away.

“Ye Hui.” Ning Mu called out from the doorway.

Ye Hui turned her head and nodded toward them.

The three walked over. Cai Xiaotong walked at the front and sat down right against Ye Hui. 

Bai Yurou sat next to Xiao Tong, and Ning Mu sat on the outermost side.

The head teacher hadn’t arrived yet. Cai Xiaotong and Ning Mu chatted a few sentences from time to time. 

Bai Yurou also participated intermittently. Only Ye Hui still sat quietly in the corner, occasionally only uttering single words like “Mm” or “Oh” when someone pointed to her, never actively speaking.

Before long, a woman wearing glasses walked over from the front row. 

She looked to be around thirty-seven or thirty-eight, wearing a dark suit jacket, her whole body radiating a capable career-woman aura. 

Bai Yurou had seen her photo in the class group. This was their head teacher Li Fang.

Li Fang walked onto the podium, first made a self-introduction, sent out her WeChat and phone number, then briefly explained the arrangements for this course.

Then Li Fang asked if anyone was willing to be class monitor.

Class monitor? She wouldn’t do it.

She only wanted to comfortably muddle through four years of university, and after graduation have her big brother casually arrange some idle position in their own enterprise and quietly lie flat.

Bai Yurou curiously aimed her gaze toward the others in their dorm. 

Ye Hui and Ning Mu were looking at the teacher but didn’t stand up. 

Cai Xiaotong even directly lowered her head to look at her phone. 

It seemed none of them had interest in being class monitor either.

She had originally thought Ning Mu would want to be class monitor. 

After all, she had been the class monitor of their class in high school. 

But it was probably because she had already become the dorm leader, or for various other reasons, that she wasn’t willing.

The classroom was quiet for a few seconds.

“I’ll do it.” A voice rang out from the back row.

Bai Yurou turned her head to look. It was a girl with a ponytail who looked very energetic.

“Very good. What’s your name?” Li Fang asked.

“Chen Shu.”

Li Fang made a mark on the roster. Then she closed the notebook, her tone straightforward. 

“My class has group assignments. One group of four people. After you form your teams, give the name list to the class monitor. The class monitor will hand the name list over to me before the next class.”

Chen Shu nodded, indicating she would definitely do it well.

Group assignments?

“The four of us as one group?” 

The moment the head teacher’s words finished, Ning Mu turned her head and proposed.

Other tables also began chattering and discussing the matter of forming groups. The classroom suddenly became lively.

The other three naturally had no objections. After all, they weren’t familiar with the other people in the class yet. 

Moreover they originally lived in the same dorm.

When there was something later it would also be convenient to discuss directly in the dorm. 

They wouldn’t even need to create a new group and could just use the dorm group.
