A letter?
A damn letter!
When it came to this, Liang Rou simply couldn’t bring herself to trust Wen Xiaoliang—just as steadfastly as she refused to believe that Wen Xiaoliang would ever betray her or cheat on her.
Seeing Liang Rou’s face still clouded with gloom, Wen Xiaoliang shrugged helplessly and clutched her chest, putting on an expression of someone whose heart had just been stabbed.
“Sigh~ How do I have to say it for you to believe me? Fine, since you don’t believe my words, I guess I have no choice but to explain it to you.”
Liang Rou still didn’t respond, her cold gaze fixed on the silver-haired girl before her.
Wen Xiaoliang raised her index finger and tapped her lips, pretending to ponder.
“Probably a little while ago, I was pulling investment near your company, and just happened to bump into you riding your little electric scooter after work. I saw a girl tightly hugging your waist behind your seat, acting all cozy… so naturally, I thought of that official announcement photo you posted recently in your Moments, where only half your bodies were shown. The hair color looked a lot like the girl behind you on the scooter, so I guessed that she was your girlfriend.”
Liang Rou listened with an expression as stiff as wood.
So this was her reason for investigating her current girlfriend? Hmph, just as she thought—it had to be that Wen Yanfu again… that terrifying woman.
Wen Xiaoliang looked at her still-gloomy face and sighed helplessly once more, shaking her head.
“Sigh~ I knew you wouldn’t believe me when I got to this point, but… I know your girlfriend’s name not because I got it from you, but because of my missing boyfriend.”
Huh?
At that moment, Liang Rou felt as if someone was lightly tracing her cerebral cortex.
“Huh?”
She finally spoke, staring at her ex-girlfriend in disbelief.
“You’re saying…”
No!
Liang Rou suddenly realized this might be a trap!
If she said, “What are you talking about?” or “There’s no way they know each other,” Wen Xiaoliang would immediately know for sure that she was Liang Wensheng—because only Liang Wensheng knew she didn’t know An Luxi before, and had never met her.
So Liang Rou immediately clamped her mouth shut, regretting her earlier impulsiveness.
Damn it!
She’d almost blurted out those three words—definitely suspicious!
She anxiously studied the woman’s expression.
Yet Wen Xiaoliang’s face showed a hint of confusion.
“You don’t know An Luxi?”
She asked the strange question.
Liang Rou’s mind blanked for a moment before she snapped back.
“How could I not know my own girlfriend? Wen Xiaoliang, what kind of question is that?”
Wen Xiaoliang frowned, muttering, “That’s not possible… it shouldn’t be like that…”
What’s possible or impossible?!
Liang Rou felt a flicker of anger at being toyed with.
At this point, she couldn’t pretend anymore. She didn’t want to stay here any longer and planned to use this as an excuse to storm off in anger.
But just as she stood up, Wen Xiaoliang grabbed her arm.
“Listen to me,” her gaze firm, her tone unwavering, “An Luxi knows my missing boyfriend! I’ve met her!”
Huh…?
More absurd than ever!
When Wen Xiaoliang was a man, she never met An Luxi—how could she have now? And Wen Xiaoliang said she got to know An Luxi through him? That was even more impossible!
“Let go of me, I’m going home. I don’t want to hear your nonsense anymore… You just want to drive a wedge between me and my girlfriend, right? Or are you trying to scam me? What kind of trap are you setting?”
Liang Rou babbled.
But Wen Xiaoliang stubbornly held her wrist, stood up, pressed her shoulder, and forced her back into the seat, bending over so close that her beautiful face nearly brushed Liang Rou’s.
Glug~
Liang Rou swallowed hard, teeth chattering with nerves.
“D-don’t get so close to me…”
Unbearable!
She’d really been trained by this woman! Every time she got close, her heart would race uncontrollably—not from fear, but… from attraction.
She was so damn cursed!
Liang Rou wanted to slap herself hard.
Why did she always act like such a masochist?
But Wen Xiaoliang didn’t make any further moves—just pressed close to her cheek and leaned toward her ear, speaking slowly and clearly:
“Liang Rou, your girlfriend An Luxi—I really have met her.”
“She’s my boyfriend’s university classmate, a year junior to him. When helping freshmen, my boyfriend helped her move her luggage. But back then, they hadn’t added each other as friends. Later, because An Luxi was too soft-hearted, she was bullied by others. My boyfriend, being kind, helped her, and that’s when they added each other as friends.”
Wen Xiaoliang said this with thick disgust.
“If I’d known back then, I would never have let my boyfriend help her! She deserves to die… damn despicable bitch! Despicable bitch! Despicable bitch!”
Her voice sharpened.
Liang Rou’s expression shifted from shock to fear.
Not because Wen Xiaoliang’s voice was sharp, but because she didn’t know any of this.
When did she ever help a junior schoolmate? When was she bullied? When did she exchange contact info with anyone? She knew nothing about it!
She stopped resisting Wen Xiaoliang’s closeness and looked at her, searching for even a trace of deceit or unnaturalness on her face.
But there was none—Wen Xiaoliang’s expression was full of loathing and anger, the very look she always wore when jealous during their relationship whenever someone got too close to her.
So genuine, so heartfelt.
Liang Rou felt shaken.
Was Wen Xiaoliang lying?
Was she telling the truth?
Was all this made up?
Or was it truly her real experience?
No, that couldn’t be.
Her memories were distorted?
Or Wen Xiaoliang’s memories were distorted?
Liang Rou grew terrified.
Before, she wouldn’t have believed in such fantastical things, but ever since she became a girl and took on a new identity, she started believing in supernatural forces in this world.
Could it be that after becoming a girl, she really had forgotten some memories?
While Liang Rou was deep in thought, Wen Xiaoliang’s teeth clenched harder and harder, her eyes reddening as a single tear rolled down.
“Wensheng helped her! Treated her so well!”
“But what did An Luxi do?!”
Liang Rou grew even more confused. For some reason, she wanted to wipe away the tear at the corner of Wen Xiaoliang’s eye.
“What… what did she do?”
