“Is it because it died without even attacking? Its status looks ridiculous.”
Laika was gradually getting used to the death of monsters.
He might be getting used to killing monsters, but he must never get used to killing people.
Now that he had become a hero, a day might come when he’d have to take the lives of bad people—but that was something he wanted to avoid as much as possible.
After composing himself, Laika made sure to collect all the loot.
Then, he pulled out a potion from his pouch and drank it to recover his depleted stamina and mana.
Leveling up had slowed, so he wasn’t able to fully recover and was feeling utterly exhausted.
Although the mission was complete, the achievement window didn’t pop up immediately.
Was it because it was related to fame?
It looked like it would show up after he sent the loot to the Exchange, just like last time.
Once outside the farm, he undid his transformation and headed for the junk car.
Perhaps it was the aftermath of the highway chase between Teresa and the biker gang—despite having taken it to a repair shop, the car was still in bad shape.
It was already junky to begin with, but now it looked so beat up that no one would even think of stealing it.
The robber from the empty road earlier had targeted Laika himself, not the car.
A perfect mission vehicle.
Sitting in the driver’s seat and taking a moment to breathe, Laika pulled out his pouch.
In the cramped space, the bulging pouch rose up onto his stomach.
Hugging the chain pouch like a shopping bag, he took out some food and had a light snack.
Before setting off again, he checked his improved status window.

“Wow, my level really went up. I’m level 12 now. Skill levels have increased too… especially that one. I’ve been using it a lot since it’s perfect for ranged attacks.”
When he first acquired it, the skill was so grotesque he’d wanted to throw it away.
But now it was one of his most useful tools.
He could strike monsters before they got close—just like an archer skill in a game.
Although you’d have to look very closely—very closely—to realize that the yellow metal projectile was an arrow.
At first glance, it looked like… something else entirely.
Especially since it matched the color of Laika’s hair, it was even worse.
He hated that, but aside from that, it was a fantastic skill.
Laika decided to check past messages too.
He’d learned that leveling up a skill not only made it stronger but sometimes added bonus features—so it was worth examining carefully.
“Hmm, it just says it’s faster… and stronger… oh? What’s this!”
A pleasant message appeared.
‘Whip Swing’ has significantly advanced.
Level 5 → Level 6
You’ve surpassed the skill’s limit.
It can now be transferred to your bracelet.
“No way, I thought it wasn’t compatible, so I gave up! Turns out each skill has its own transfer level. In that case, transfer it right away!”
And don’t play tricks again.
If you mess with me again, this chastity belt is getting smacked.
Even if all that’ll do is make my crotch hurt—I’m still gonna hit it!
Laika glared at the screen, waiting for the next message.
Maybe his threat worked—his wish came true.
A whip popped out from his skirt and slapped onto the bracelet with a smack.
Then, a bright light enveloped both items, and the result appeared.
The skill ‘Whip Swing’ has been transferred to the bracelet.
You can now use it from the bracelet.
“Waaah!”
Laika cheered out loud.
The joy was too overwhelming to keep to himself.
Now, the two most grotesque skills had been transferred to his bracelet.
He glanced around and got out of the car.
He wanted to try out the bracelet version.
Imagining a whip, he swung his hand.
The bracelet’s chain extended, transforming into a long whip lined with sharp barbs.
As it cracked against the bare ground, it made a threatening noise and gouged deep into the earth.
He aimed it at a distant street tree, and it left a huge gash in the bark.
With all his recent level-ups, the whip’s reach had extended to nearly five meters.
“Nice. Super nice. Now I just have to keep leveling up and transfer all the other skills out of this belt.”
Grinning, Laika stowed the whip and leaned against the car to check the rest of the messages.
You used ‘Pocket It!’ frequently.
Level 2 → Level 3
You can now store more items as your proficiency increases.
‘Shield’ proficiency increased.
Level 2 → Level 3
You can now defend a wider area.
When he summoned the shield, it used to only cover the front like a fence, but now it extended to cover the sides too.
This was another skill he wanted to transfer to the bracelet—not because it was grotesque, but because using the belt limited how many other skills he could use at once.
He figured that after transferring it, he might be able to use Shield alongside the belt and bracelet skills at the same time.
The other skills had simply gotten stronger, with no new features.
Even though the Back Reveal skill had gone up by one level, he still couldn’t use it alongside the chastity belt.
Maybe it needed a few more levels.
“Damn it, when will I finally be able to use them together? I really don’t like touching monsters with my bare hands.”
Still, it was a great haul.
Humming, Laika started the car.
Time to head to the outpost, send off the loot to the Exchange, and then visit Laika in the hospital.
Screech—bang bang bang…
“Ugh… How many times did I scrape it? Whew… I really need to do more missions. I should pay Senior Teresa back for this junker eventually. Honestly, it’d be easier to just buy a new one…”
Staggering out of the driver’s seat, Laika looked down at the car with its front bumper flapping and rubbed his forehead.
A rookie driver wasn’t going to become a pro overnight—that was even less realistic than becoming a hero.
Worried Teresa might see, he parked the junk car deep in a corner of the outpost where it wouldn’t be visible and hurried to the well.
He wanted to check how much money had come in.
Summoning his pouch, he dumped all the loot into the well.
Shortly after, money was deposited into his account.
He had taken down quite a few monsters this time, so the reward was larger than before.
“Nice, this’ll cover me for the week. I should do more missions—level up, earn money, and occasionally pick up new skills. It’s like a triple win.”
But that wasn’t all.
As he was enjoying the view of his bank balance, the achievement window popped up.
You have eradicated 20 monsters that were ruining the hard-earned crops of the farmers! The fame of Chastity Belt Girl rises even higher. You can now access the Exchange through a mirror.
“Wow! Finally, the Exchange… huh? Through a mirror?”
Laika tilted his head.
A memory flashed back—of the day he first awakened his powers.
Back in Senior Teresa’s shop, he’d looked into a mirror and seen himself transformed into Chastity Belt Girl against a backdrop of howling wind.
Since then, mirrors hadn’t shown anything unusual—but now he could access the Exchange through one?
“Creepy. It’s not gonna be like a horror movie where I get sucked into the mirror and can’t escape, right? Still, the Exchange… It’s probably a place to buy special items. Who knows what’ll happen. I’ll try visiting it once I’m home.”
With his errands done, Laika washed up briefly at the outpost and stopped by a fruit shop, where he bought a mixed fruit basket of mangoes and melons.
Since it wasn’t in season, the price was steep, and he inwardly cried bloody tears.
Even if he made good money on missions, spending cash still hurt.
“Sigh… So expensive. I better get my money’s worth out of Laika.”
Carrying the basket, Laika headed to the hospital where Laika was admitted.
When he arrived, he saw reporters loitering near the entrance.
Thankfully, with his hoodie pulled low, no one paid attention to him.
“One of them probably wrote an article about me… Stop publishing nonsense already.”
At the VIP room where Laika was staying, his manager greeted him awkwardly.
“Ah… Laika. You’re here. You brought a fruit basket? Laika will… like it. He’s awake now, so go on in.”
“…Huh? Oh, yeah…”
He’s the one who asked him to bring fruit—so why was he pretending to be surprised?
Laika was dumbfounded but didn’t say much and just knocked on the door.
When he heard a voice inviting him in, he carefully opened it.
