Crack! Crack! Crack!
Black Mimi’s Solar Flame Fist tore through the Compassionate Frost Mage’s thick ice shield like tearing a membrane!
Expressionless, radiating overwhelming power, a cold-blooded killing machine—she yanked the Compassionate Frost Mage out from inside his Frost Shield, slammed a Flame Claw into his face, and lifted the full-grown man off the ground with one hand.
The Compassionate Frost Mage’s face was scorched black, and he wailed in agony. He had no strength left to resist—subdued in an instant.
Now, a Magic Mentor was nothing more than prey to be one-shotted by Samimi. If she didn’t give them time to put on a show, her Doppelganger could kill them in a single blow.
Sure, the Western Sea storyline is chaotic, but the overall regional strength isn’t as high as the Southern Tree Sea. If you’re not a regional Boss, you don’t even register in my eyes.
And Samimi is already the king among her peers. Any Magic Manipulator before her is like an ant. Unless you’re an ancient Old Mage or a Genius Mage who has awakened a Domain, no one can stand against her.
The ultimate form of a mage, the root of magic, the endpoint of magic—is the Melee Mage.
Samimi never fulfilled her dream of close combat, so let Black Mimi complete it!
In a sense, Black Mimi’s body structure had completely left the realm of ordinary Human Race. More accurately, her internal composition was that of a Vampire, while her external appearance was that of a Demon Human.
Except she didn’t need to devour others to sustain her body. She could greedily and happily suck on Samimi’s magic power, since she had a massive Magic Source backing her up.
So it was only natural for Black Mimi to imitate a Demon Human’s attack methods.
Abyss Demons were also Magic Manipulators. Their favorite move was gathering magic power in both hands, closing in for melee, and using Mana Piercing Hand Blades.
There’s no reason only our Human Race should get our techniques stolen by other races. We can steal the Demon Humans’ moves too.
The Solar Flame on Black Mimi gradually died out, revealing her perfectly intact true form—not even a torn hem. Still expressionless, no emotional fluctuation, cold and ruthless, invincible and lonely.
Defeating the Frost Mage was as simple as stepping on an ant.
And that was exactly how everyone saw it.
Black Mimi’s actual attack was just one move—a Charge, a Spirit Hand, yanking the mage out of his ice shield. The scene was incredibly impactful, overflowing with dominance.
“General Flame Enchantment.”
The sneaky Samimi was remotely controlling from behind again, activating magic on her Doppelganger.
Someone like this isn’t worth breaking my no-kill vow over. But letting a tiger go back to the mountain isn’t my style either. If you oppose me, don’t expect to walk away unscathed.
“Let go of the Mage Lord!”
Count Perry’s Elite Knights started yelling over there.
“I’m a Pastoralist. Merciful and compassionate, I don’t like killing.”
Black Mimi muttered something, then suddenly conjured more General Flame in her hand, setting the Compassionate Frost Mage’s entire body ablaze. Finally, she obediently let him go.
“Aaaaahhhh!!!”
The Compassionate Frost Mage’s agonized screams echoed across the entire grassland. He ran a few steps frantically before collapsing.
Fortunately, just then, the General Flame went out, leaving only the Compassionate Frost Mage, his body steaming with smoke, writhing in pain and clearly seriously injured.
Heh, full-body mild burns. At least a year or two of treatment at home.
If treatment is mishandled, he might even die. Either way, he won’t be able to continue participating in the Western Sea War.
“Count, take this disgraceful fool and get lost. If you don’t know how to treat him, you can come beg me—for a fee, of course.”
Black Mimi turned around coldly, her back to the enemy, and walked toward Knight Academy City.
Count Perry’s entire force didn’t dare move. They could only watch her retreating figure.
The mage lying nearby was the perfect example of what happens to those who dare resist the Demon Monk.
Perry’s men had to carry the unlucky Compassionate Frost Mage back. As they carried him, he woke up and screamed like a pig being slaughtered.
Carrying this man back would definitely affect morale, and there were sure to be big mouths in the unit spreading the story. There was no hiding something like this.
When that happened, panic would spread like a virus.
Also, burns were permanent damage. Even if they saved his life, he would never recover to his former state.
On top of that, mages were very sensitive to pain, and pain severely affected spellcasting.
So that Compassionate Frost Mage’s career as a mage was basically over.
Even if he recovered, his magic level would never return to 100% of what it was.
That feeling, to a mage, was worse than death.
The city gate opened a crack to let Black Mimi in, then quickly closed again.
Black Mimi didn’t say a word. She walked through the Giant Whale Knights and went back up the wall to find Samimi.
This black-haired girl had never had any presence, because she never interacted with anyone and never looked anyone in the eye.
There was no light in her black pupils. Even now, she was still acting on her own.
But now everyone knew she had the capital to ignore the world.
That terrifying strength was frightening.
Even the allies, not just the enemy, were afraid of Black Mimi. They looked at her with nothing but endless fear.
That’s right. That’s the effect I wanted.
Because of multiple issues—status, face, principles, profession—I can’t be too ruthless. At least I can’t go on a killing spree in public.
I am a Cardinal Archbishop, and the last Demon-Hunting Nun. I carry multiple honors and titles.
If I act too dark and underhanded, people will talk, leaving trouble for later. That won’t do.
I do have my little cow treasure who handles the dirty work, but I treat her like a daughter. Having my daughter do the dirty work all the time isn’t exactly moral either.
Now, this despicable Samimi has finally developed a dark Magic Ritual that perfectly solves this problem.
Leave all the bad and evil deeds to Black Mimi. It has nothing to do with me, Archbishop Samimi. It was all done by Battle Priestess Shalom.
Conveniently, I have a false identity, and it fits perfectly with this fake person, Black Mimi.
From now on, I won’t call the Doppelganger Black Mimi. I’ll just call her Shalom. After all, I already put the high-ranking Saint identity card in her pocket.
“Thank you. This is a good start.”
Shalom returned to the city wall, and Knight King Char immediately thanked her, feeling a bit odd.
Fabiana knew her lord was thanking a fake person.
“Anna, why don’t you thank Miss Shalom?”
Knight King Char said.
