Under the cover of night, the Silver-haired Girl walked beneath the moonlight, her hair shimmering in the darkness.
Her footsteps made no sound, drawing not the slightest bit of attention. Just like that, she entered the manor of the Lily Territory without any hindrance.
She looked up at the Emblem of the Lily Territory.
Though her posture was one of looking up, she somehow radiated a silent pride.
A Night Patrol Maid passed by, carrying an oil lamp.
The girl met her gaze with an expressionless face.
The maid’s surprised eyes turned vacant in an instant, and she collapsed onto the ground without a word.
“Good night,” the girl said politely.
In the next moment, she was already inside the manor.
An invisible consciousness spread out from her, sweeping through the surroundings.
As she passed by Annie’s room, she paused again.
Her delicate brows furrowed as she sensed a foul stench in the air, a cold aura radiating from her body.
She walked to Annie’s side and looked down.
The little maid was drenched in cold sweat, her face as pale as death, her life force as feeble as a terminally ill patient’s.
The Silver-haired Girl nodded slightly and reached out, taking Annie’s wrist.
Sunfire spread from her palm, dissolving all the afflictions within Annie’s body.
Yet at the same time, she herself had to endure pain akin to Soul Burn.
Annie moaned in agony, but the Silver-haired Girl’s expression did not waver as she held her wrist.
After a long while, she finally let go. Annie’s arm dropped limply, and she fell into a deep, unconscious sleep.
Not bad.
The Silver-haired Girl thought, then turned and left the room.
Following the guidance of her senses, she walked step by step to the Dungeon beneath the manor.
At the entrance, a heavy chain bound the iron door, blocking her path.
She frowned slightly, her mood souring, but acted as if the obstacle did not exist and continued forward.
If she kept walking like this, she would crash straight into the Dungeon’s iron door in the next instant.
Yet the Silver-haired Girl did not slow down.
Just as she was about to collide with the lock, a miraculous scene unfolded.
The lock melted away in midair, dripping down in red and yellow streaks.
With a gentle push, she opened the Dungeon door.
If she’d been in her usual temper, the Dungeon’s gate would probably have been reduced to ashes.
But away from home, she had to restrain herself.
Hm?
After entering the Dungeon of the Lily Territory, the Silver-haired Girl was clearly taken aback.
Contrary to her expectations, there were no corpses, no filth, and the smell was barely noticeable.
Looking more closely, it was even… tidy?
Apparently, no one had been imprisoned here for quite some time.
Her impression of the young count of the Lily Territory improved a little.
Only when she reached the depths of the Dungeon did she find the unconscious Tania.
A look of disgust flashed in her beautiful eyes, as if even glancing at Tania would taint her vision.
She turned away and focused on an object on the dungeon table.
It was an Ancient Pipe, old in design, unremarkable at first glance.
Yet in her eyes, she could clearly see the demonic nature within.
Not a wasted trip.
The Silver-haired Girl thought to herself.
After pocketing the item, she looked at Tania, locked away in the cell.
According to the Heretic Tribunal’s request, she was supposed to take Tania as well.
She frowned a little. It wasn’t the task itself that bothered her, but rather the thought of having to touch Tania’s filthy body.
While she hesitated, a sudden gust of cold wind swept through the room.
The girl halted, then said calmly, “Come out.”
No one answered.
Her posture, questioning the empty air, looked rather absurd.
She suddenly felt like she was being toyed with, and her already sour mood worsened.
“Show yourself,” she said coldly.
The air around her instantly evaporated under the searing heat.
The dungeon walls began to hiss and crackle, their blackened surfaces glowing red-hot.
If no one appeared soon, Tania would be burned alive, and the entire Dungeon would become a sea of flames.
“Please, stop.”
A figure emerged from the shadows, seemingly unaffected by the sweltering heat.
She stood tall and finally revealed her true identity, it was Elise, the head maid of the manor.
“You’re interesting,” the Silver-haired Girl commented.
Elise nodded gracefully, her manner humble.
“Is there something you need?”
Though she was the intruder, her bearing was more like the master of the manor.
“Greetings, Princess Milis. It is an honor to behold your presence,” Elise replied, answering a question with another.
The Silver-haired Girl, Milis from the Holy City, showed a hint of amusement.
“You know me?”
“The name of the Saintess of Judgment, I could hardly forget it.”
“Is that so?”
Milis stepped out from the shadows, moonlight illuminating her face, a visage almost flawless in its beauty, finally clear to Elise’s eyes.
Beyond her perfect features, she had a head of sacred, silver-white hair.
Her bangs completely covered her left eye, while her right eye, bright and lovely, was revealed, though her gaze was chillingly cold.
Her lips curled faintly.
Milis asked, “You’re not bad. Tell me your name.”
“You may call me Elise.”
“Then, Elise, may I take this, and her, with me?”
Milis gestured to the Ancient Pipe in her hand, then pointed to the unconscious Tania.
“No.”
Elise kept her respectful tone.
“And if I insist?”
“Then, please, step over my corpse first.”
Elise replied, neither humble nor arrogant.
Facing such a stubborn, stone-hearted woman, Milis could only shake her head.
“I’m only here for the item, not to kill anyone.”
“Then, please wait a moment.”
“Wait for what?”
“Until Lord wakes up.”
Dawn was not far off, but Elise’s words directly angered Milis.
In the next instant, Milis appeared before her.
A breeze stirred, and Elise’s left eye was exposed to Milis.
It was an eye with a Cross-shaped Pupil, strange and sacred.
The whole eye was golden, the opposite of her right eye’s icy blue.
A pressure surged from the depths of Milis’s soul, almost forcing Elise to her knees.
Gritting her teeth, Elise’s figure melted into the shadows once more.
Milis’s left eye widened slightly. To her surprise, she truly could not locate Elise’s position.
“Shadow Veil may be a mid-tier Sacred Seal, but you’ve brought out its full potential,” she praised.
Yet to her surprise, Elise once again abandoned her advantage, appearing before Milis.
“Please wait a moment,” the head maid said again, her posture respectful and graceful.
