Actually, this situation is quite easy to understand.
Members of evil organizations are rarely known for their good tempers or pleasant personalities.
If they were nice and good-natured, why would they join an evil organization in the first place?
Many times, negotiations between such groups quickly devolve into shouting matches like “How dare you insult me?”
“So what if I insulted you?”, which then escalate into full-blown brawls.
That’s exactly what’s happening now.
Blackfire feels that since Snakefang is new to the area, they should follow the rules.
Even though Blackfire is basically on the level of a random gang now, they’ve been rooted in Xinghai City for years—they can’t just surrender without getting something in return.
They need a proper benefit, after all!
But Snakefang thinks, ‘We’re a global organization, absorbing your little group is doing you a favor. And yet you dare act ungrateful? You’re clearly tired of living.’
So the two sides talked for a long time while glaring at each other, and ultimately got nowhere.
Then a Snakefang member slammed the table and roared, tossing the Blackfire representative straight out of the room.
Enough talking—let fists do the work!
Because it was supposed to be a negotiation, neither side brought many people.
Unfortunately, Blackfire now only has a few cats and kittens left (i.e., they’re very weak), and compared to Snakefang, the dominant invaders, they were clearly outmatched.
The Snakefang representative was the trusted subordinate of a Snakefang officer named “Mad Python,” and his power was comparable to that of a general-level monster.
The Blackfire representative, on the other hand… was just a regular guy with a slightly stronger build.
The power difference here is like sending a five-year-old to stop a bulldozer.
But what Snakefang’s rep didn’t expect was that the person he casually tossed out would lead to a surprise.
He’d originally intended to go outside and finish off that Blackfire guy, but just as he stepped out through the broken wall, he locked eyes with a pair of pale violet eyes.
“……”
That unexpected spark of fate stunned him for a second—then a purple magic wand appeared right in front of him.
Boom!
By the time Siam arrived at the battlefield, Rosemary had already thoroughly suppressed the Snakefang officer who had transformed into a monster.
No matter how the snake-scaled freak struggled, he couldn’t escape Rosemary’s relentless pursuit.
Balls of light bombarded the monster’s body, ripping his flesh apart.
He tried to fight back, but Rosemary was flying in the air, making most of his attacks useless.
Magical girls can fly, but most monsters can’t.
And magical girls are generally stronger than monsters or magical beasts of the same rank.
In a one-on-one fight, magical girls definitely hold the upper hand.
“Siam, go restrain the others—I’ll handle this monster!”
“Got it!”
While Xia Mo and Siam were working hard, Luo Shuangxing was only a few steps away from reaching the battlefield.
But just as she was flying toward the destination, she happened to glance to the side—and suddenly spotted a familiar figure watching the show from above.
Although their outfit was different from before, Luo Shuangxing instantly recognized the one hovering in the sky as the villain who had injured Senior Rosemary.
“Dark Butterfly! What sinister plan are you up to this time?!” Seeing a villain, Luo Shuangxing of course couldn’t just sit back.
She took a deep breath and shouted at Dark Butterfly.
Hearing the voice, Luo Shuangyue tilted her head and looked over.
Oh, it’s that annoying little brat again.
“The prey I had my eye on got snatched away. I’m just a little irritated, that’s all.”
Butterflies flew out from the void and landed on Luo Shuangyue’s body.
Her plain clothes transformed into a gorgeous dress—Luo Shuangyue had completed her transformation into Dark Butterfly.
***
Let me know if you want a polished version for publication or a breakdown of the characters and world.
After all, Lily of the Valley is still somewhat of a threat. If she decided to fire a light cannon on a whim, untransformed Luo Shuangyue might get blasted straight to see her mother.
But once her transformation was complete, Luo Shuangyue wasn’t scared at all.
With her current level of defense, even if Lily of the Valley kept firing until she ran out of magic, it wouldn’t even make her flinch.
“Considering you saved me a bit of energy, I’ll let you off this time. Go help your senior.”
With that, Luo Shuangyue looked away, as if she didn’t see Lily of the Valley as a threat at all.
This kind of disdain made Luo Shuangxing grit her teeth in frustration.
She really wanted to fire a shot right into that jerk’s face!
“Lily of the Valley, go support Rosemary. Since Dark Butterfly hasn’t shown any hostility, let’s leave her alone for now.”
“Fine!” she replied through gritted teeth and whooshed past Luo Shuangyue.
As she passed by, she deliberately slowed her flight and flipped Luo Shuangyue the middle finger.
What a temper… Luo Shuangyue couldn’t help but laugh.
If Xia Mo was the textbook example of a magical girl, then Lily of the Valley was the complete opposite. Like a wild little sister—completely unruly.
Who knew what that magic gem was thinking when it picked someone like her?
“Looks like I won’t need to make a move. A mere officer-level monster is no match for Xia Mo.”
Watching the situation unfold on the battlefield, Luo Shuangyue thought to herself.
As long as nothing unexpected happened, this fight should be over soon…
Almost as if to slap her in the face, the moment Luo Shuangyue relaxed, the snake-scaled monster suddenly pulled out a pitch-black cylinder.
“You left me no choice! Witness the power of Lord Serpent!”
With that shout, he crushed the cylinder with force.
Immediately, a cloud of pitch-black mist burst out, transforming into the shape of a giant serpent.
The snake hissed and lunged straight at Xia Mo, temporarily pinning her down.
Taking this chance, the monster turned and sprinted toward the shadows—clearly trying to flee.
Yeah, despite his loud threats, he was really just trying to run away.
And honestly, if nothing interfered, he might have gotten away with it.
The black mist serpent contained Lord Serpent’s power, and while it wouldn’t win against Rosemary, it could buy him enough time to escape.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t realize someone was still watching from above.
Whoosh! Boom!
A scythe fell from the sky, carving a deep trench into the ground.
A gray-haired girl with butterfly wings gently descended from above, looking at the monster as if he were already a corpse.
“You have two options. One: kneel. Two: I beat you until you kneel.”
The villain’s face turned dark.
His instincts screamed that this girl was even more terrifying than the magical one from before.
And her appearance reminded him of a certain someone from his intelligence files.
“You’re Dark Butterfly?! I didn’t expect you to be a dog of the Magic Department too!”
“Heh. A few disgusting snakes showed up in my garden. As the gardener, isn’t it natural that I clean them out?”
She twirled the scythe in her hand and gave a crazed smile.
“Now, stand still. I’ll try to make your last moments as peaceful as I can.”
