Knock, knock, knock…
Anderson knocked on Ainola’s bedroom door.
“The sun is already high up, hurry up and get out of bed.”
However, no matter how much time passed, Anderson did not hear a response from inside the room.
After multiple failed attempts, Anderson said.
“Don’t tell me she slept until she died? I’m coming in.”
In the past, Anderson would sometimes go to wake Ainola up.
Sometimes her sleep schedule was very chaotic, either waking up very early or very late.
She would frequently appear in front of him with dark circles under her eyes, claiming she had stayed up late playing games.
But thinking back on it, Anderson couldn’t recall a single memory of Ainola actually playing any games.
“I’m coming in if you don’t answer.”
Anderson gently pushed the bedroom door open and stepped inside.
“Tsk… Not locking the door again.”
Anderson let out a sigh and headed toward the bed.
However, it was only then that he realized the bed was completely empty; Ainola was not there at all.
What’s more, Anderson touched the bedding and didn’t feel any warmth; it was cold, as if no one had slept there at all.
“Where did this girl go?”
Anderson scratched his head in confusion, and just as he was about to leave, he noticed what looked like a letter under the pillow.
Although it wasn’t polite to touch other people’s things, Anderson couldn’t resist his curiosity and took the letter out.
“A letter to my best friend…”
Anderson looked at the letter and couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
However, upon seeing that it was addressed to him, a hint of excitement couldn’t help but appear on his face.
Stirred by the budding feelings of an adolescent boy, it was easy to think of it as a love letter.
And so, holding high expectations, Anderson opened the letter.
The letter read as follows.
“To my best friend, Anderson… by the time you read this, I have likely left, and it seems I will never return…”
The letter was quite long, and when he reached this part, Anderson’s heart skipped a beat, so he quickly continued reading.
“You have always wondered what I go out to do at night, right? In fact~ I am an assassin, code name Red Sparrow.
After finding out who you really were, I decided to poison you. The barley tea you drank last night had poison in it, you see~”
The further he read, the uglier Anderson’s expression became, though he was also feeling a bit strange now.
If Ainola had really poisoned him, why was he still alive?
As if she had guessed Anderson’s confusion, the letter continued.
“I suppose you are wondering why you are still alive, right? Hehehe~ I am a merciful person. You saved me once,
so the poison I gave you isn’t fatal; it will just cause a small, minor inconvenience to your personal life… as for what kind of medicine it is exactly, you can guess it yourself slowly, hehe~”
When Anderson reached the end, his face turned dark instantly, appearing as if it were about to drip water.
“Ainola… you really are ruthless!”
Even if Anderson shoved his head into a toilet, he would never have guessed that this trash woman would feed him an impotence poison.
No wonder he had felt so ascetic the entire day; so that was what was going on!
He took a deep breath, then slowly let it out.
While forcing himself to calm down, Anderson activated a Magic Formation and called out.
“Lewis, come here for a moment.”
Soon, a knight appeared before Anderson.
“Your Highness, what are your orders?”
“Help me catch this woman.”
Anderson said with a dark face, pointing at Ainola’s bed.
“I never would have expected that Red Sparrow was right by my side.”
“What?!”
Lewis was shocked, and while in disbelief, he couldn’t help but ask with concern:
“Then, Your Highness, are you unharmed?”
“I am… fine.”
Anderson gritted his teeth, feeling as miserable as if he had eaten something foul.
He certainly wasn’t going to say that Ainola had fed him an impotence poison.
Such a thing was simply too embarrassing.
“Never mind that for now. You Temple Knights, spare no cost and bring this trash woman back.”
“Yes!”

Meanwhile, far away, Ainola breathed a sigh of relief.
She knew that after leaving that letter, Anderson would definitely discover her and pursue her.
But she simply couldn’t resist leaving it there.
Even if it meant her whereabouts would be exposed sooner.
“Hehehehe~”
However, Ainola was not panicked in the slightest; she hummed a pleasant little tune as she walked toward a secret base belonging to a certain assassin organization.
Ainola knew that Anderson seemed to have a small amount of affection for her.
Then, she didn’t mind turning that small bit of affection into deeper despair.
With the Temple Knights deployed in full force, the chances of her successfully escaping were slim.
But it was not impossible.
Ainola had long since prepared a feasible plan.
As long as she “died” in front of Anderson, the Temple Knights would likely give up their pursuit.
And this method of faking her death was to go to the Canyon of the Abyss and stage a scene of jumping off the cliff, claiming her wishes were fulfilled and she had no regrets in this life.
“Dying” in front of Anderson, wasn’t that also a form of revenge?
The corners of Ainola’s mouth couldn’t stop curling upward; she had never considered herself a good person, but this was the first time she felt she quite liked this sense of pleasure.
“Could this be my true nature?”
Ainola pondered as she walked into the assassin’s base.
This base was not the headquarters of the Assassin Union, but one of its temporary strongholds.
Therefore, there was only one person inside.
This person was Ainola’s contact.
Upon seeing Ainola, he couldn’t help but sneer.
“It seems your assassination failed; the Temple Knights of Hail City are acting like madmen right now, constantly trying to find your tracks.”
Regarding the result mentioned by the contact, Ainola did not seem too surprised, instead wearing a trashy, smug smile as she replied.
“Who said my assassination failed?”
“But the Prince is still alive.”
The contact did not show the slightest bit of restraint, refuting Ainola’s words directly.
However, the latter remained unhurried as she said.
“I don’t have any money on me right now, so I wanted to ask you one thing.”
Ainola’s probing words left the contact somewhat confused.
“The Prince is still alive, so you haven’t completed the commission; how could I give you money?”
“Isn’t that what we are negotiating?”
Ainola said with a smile:
“Although the Prince is still alive, in a sense, I have caused him very serious, level 2 severe disability.”
Hearing this, the contact suddenly became interested, and he said with amusement.
“I never would have thought… It seems Miss Red Sparrow has impressive skills. Did you wound the Prince that badly?”
“That’s right, I chemically castrated him,”
Ainola said with her hands on her hips, looking very proud:
“According to the laws of the Glory Empire, the loss of reproductive ability counts as a level 2 severe injury, so… could I have some payment?”
The contact assassin, upon hearing Ainola’s words, silently placed a question mark in his mind.
