As the icy arrow flew toward her at full speed, Velis heard the System’s voice at the same moment.
[Ding! Emergency Quest issued

Or retreat with injuries—Max MP +200.

Note: A man with no woman in his heart draws his blade like a god. Although that elf is your woman, killing her and the other enemies will grant you excellent rewards!]
Ignoring the System’s voice, in that instant, the True Eye began operating autonomously beyond her control once more.
In Velis’s vision, everything around her slowed to a crawl, and the trajectory of that Magic Arrow was laid completely bare before the True Eye.
Where it was shot from, what path it would take—all of it was perfectly clear!
The moment of surprise passed through her mind as the Blade of Qi in her hand met it head-on.
In reality, Winnie Kanasha’s lips curled into a smug smile.
Though her arrow looked ordinary, it was condensed with her spiritual power, so while it appeared to fly straight at Velis…
But…
The Blade of Qi in Velis’s hand sharply caught the Magic Arrow’s path, and she raised her arm and slashed down with force.
If this hit landed, Winnie Kanasha’s attack would miss.
“Haha, dream on! Die, Velis!”
Just as the Blade of Qi was about to touch the Magic Arrow, Winnie Kanasha shouted excitedly.
Fooled!
What Bloody Princess—today, you die here!
As a satisfied smile of revenge bloomed on the elf’s face, the Magic Arrow suddenly veered sharply, narrowly slipping past Velis’s Blade of Qi.
With an icy-blue magical tail trailing behind it, it curved in an impossible arc to dodge Velis’s slash and once again shot toward her chest!
In the blink of an eye, a crisp sound rang out, and the excitement on Winnie Kanasha’s face had yet to fade before it was forcibly replaced by shock.
That strange expression mirrored the surrounding black-robed figures almost exactly.
There, at Velis’s chest, the Blade of Qi from her other hand had somehow already intercepted the Magic Arrow.
Even as she was knocked backward repeatedly by the immense impact, the Flame Armor on Velis’s body absorbed much of the force.
“Phew~!” Letting out a long breath, Velis grabbed the Magic Arrow—now stripped of its momentum and magic—and tossed it at her feet.
Although this exchange had been full of twists and turns, the truth was that it all happened in under a second.
The True Eye had slowed her perception of time, and she had this arrow’s strange homing ability dodged entirely thanks to it!
But even though the Magic Arrow was blocked, its impact had been strong enough to numb Velis’s palm and sting her chest.
If it had struck her directly, it would have pierced clean through her heart—even her Flame Armor couldn’t have stopped that.
“Th-this…”
Winnie Kanasha stared in disbelief at the unharmed Velis, her face twisting in fury.
“How is this possible?! Why aren’t you dead? How could you dodge an elf’s Magic Arrow laced with spiritual power?!”
In the face of Winnie Kanasha’s hysterics, Velis gazed at her with an unwavering calm.
“Nothing is impossible. Am I not standing here perfectly fine right now?”
Turning her head toward the battle nearby, Xi’eryou and the Magic Swordman were still locked in a stalemate.
Though Xi’eryou held the offensive advantage on the surface, the Magic Swordman’s defenses were impenetrable.
Every time Xi’eryou tried to come to Velis’s aid, the man would relentlessly cling to her with attacks, forcing her to focus entirely on him.
“Just who are you people?! Elves? Whisperers? Or an assassination organization of the Nornubia Empire?!”
Xi’eryou’s sword strikes were as cold as shards of ice, but the Magic Swordman used every trick he had to keep deflecting her attacks.
This man used Sword Saint Klenis’s Sword Sea Waves, yet Klenis roamed the Vistoria Continent and couldn’t truly be claimed by any nation.
So it was perfectly possible he’d casually taught a disciple or two along the way. Xi’eryou couldn’t determine the man’s nationality either.
“I told you, no comment! First Princess, I advise you to mind your own business. Today our target is that scum. If you try to stop us again, don’t blame us for being rude!”
The black-robed figure’s voice was hoarse and muffled, making it impossible to tell if it was male or female. Wrapped entirely in black robes, their build and gender were equally hidden.
Hearing this, Xi’eryou let out a cold snort: “As a princess, I will absolutely not allow anyone to commit violence in broad daylight in Monseer—especially when she is family!”
In that instant, Xi’eryou swept her hand across the blade of Binglan, and icy magical power instantly adhered to its surface. Around her, snowflakes began to drift!
Ice Sword Dancer!
Xi’eryou thrust her sword forward in an upward slash, and a fierce blast of frozen sword energy carved easily through the ground, flying straight at the Magic Swordman.
The Magic Swordman, in turn, enchanted his blade with lightning and clashed against Xi’eryou’s sword energy, both shattering with a violent explosion.
The two dissolved into afterimages once more, trading blows as metal clangs and magical detonations rang out without end.
Back at Velis’s side, she had already been surrounded.
“One arrow failed, then I’ll send you ten! A hundred! Velis, I don’t believe you can dodge them all!”
Winnie Kanasha roared furiously, planting her feet and drawing her bow. Magic flickered as three Magic Arrows locked onto Velis.
At the same time, the other black-robed figures surged forward, determined to cut Velis down right here!
“Velis!”
Xi’eryou shouted in panic. The moment her heart wavered, her opponent seized the opening and lunged with a ferocious thrust, like a tiger pouncing—brutal beyond compare!
Xi’eryou was forced to turn back and defend, leaving no chance to check on Velis’s situation.
“Kill!”
“Cut this bitch to pieces!”
A black-robed figure leaped up in a rage, and Velis instinctively surged her mana. A Flame Whip materialized instantly.
Crack!
A sharp crack split the air, and the leaping black-robed figure was sent flying by the Flame Whip. A violent explosion thundered against his clothes as flames consumed him instantly.
Velis had no time to finish him off. She threw herself into an awkward roll as a gleaming blade slammed into the spot she’d just occupied.
“Break the line!”
Another black-robed figure bellowed, and Velis’s pupils contracted as she quickly spread her legs apart.
Boom!
In front of her, the massive black-robed figure who’d been swinging a great hammer to shatter Velis’s legs slammed his weapon into the ground instead.
Holy crap! That was close—these people are brutal!
Even if Velis wasn’t vain, from any angle, her pair of beautiful legs were an absolute masterpiece. During her slump period, she’d even admired them herself.
But this black-robed man had not a shred of tenderness for beauty. That strike seemed intent on smashing these peerless treasures to pulp!
Gravel flew, bricks shattered, and the ground struck by the great hammer sank into a crater.
Velis’s heart went cold. If that had connected, her legs would truly be reduced to dust.
No time to overthink. Velis rolled three more times and sprang to her feet, only to be met with a storm of attacks.
They wielded the swords and blades that had been hanging outside the blacksmith’s shop, thrusting, slashing, and chopping from all angles. In an instant, blades flashed, and killing intent filled the air!
Velis managed to parry seven or eight strikes with her Blade of Qi, but the remaining two swords slammed directly into her Flame Armor, hacking into her twice.
Slish! Slash!
Two sword gashes appeared on Velis’s Flame Armor, and her clothes were torn open in two places. Fortunately, her skin remained untouched.
Before she could even be grateful for not being hurt, a sudden spike of danger screamed through Velis’s instincts.
The True Eye activated once more on its own. Velis watched as the two black-robed figures before her suddenly dove aside—three Magic Arrows were already howling toward her, less than a meter away!
