While soaking in the bath, Fabiana had temporarily forgotten that Samimi was into women. Normally, she wouldn’t want to bathe with this girl—it was like sharing a bath with a tiger.
But the Pure White Knight had no mind for such trivial matters. Her head was filled with all kinds of grand thoughts.
For now, though, it was still stuck in the “just thinking about it” phase, like every edgy teenager who dreams of saving the world but ends up working at a factory.
After all, she was a knight of justice, not some crazed killer.
One more push was all it took for the Avenger to fully transform into a Revolutionary.
After their bath, Fabiana and Samimi changed back into their original clothes—the black nun’s habit and the white pastor’s robe—continuing their disguise as holy practitioners.
The Madam and the maids didn’t ask questions, nor did they care whether they were truly devout. As long as they “looked the part,” that was enough. They didn’t need a soul.
Meanwhile, the new maid Veronica had quietly slipped away at some point, vanishing without a trace.
But Samimi and Fabiana had no doubts about her professional skills. If even she couldn’t handle it, no one could.
Under the Madam’s guidance, the two arrived at a massive auction hall.
Below the stage sat a crowd of nobles, as young half-beast girls were auctioned off one by one.
Among the half-beasts, the most common were from the Wolf Clan and Cat Clan. Suffice it to say, these two races had relatively stable temperaments, allowing them to barely integrate into human society. As for the disobedient ones, they had long been slaughtered.
As for Samimi and Fabiana, they didn’t need to participate in the auction. Instead, they were led directly to a VIP room on the second floor.
“Arrogant even by royal city standards. At least those nobles in the capital wear masks when they do this—they still have some shame.” Samimi sneered in critique.
“Local nobles are like petty tyrants. No one can rein them in. The royal family, far away in the capital, can’t interfere either.” Fabiana said in a low voice.
They passed through a hidden corridor lined with guards on both sides.
Upon entering the room, dim lighting and a dark red carpet created a oppressive atmosphere.
On the sofa sat several prominent figures, staring at them with greedy eyes.
But Samimi had no interest in them. Her attention fell on the only person standing in the room.
It was a black-robed figure, exuding a faint magical aura.
“She’s a pastor,” the black-robed figure said.
He had sensed Samimi’s healing magic but couldn’t see through the other power she had concealed, so he assumed she was a pastor.
“Really a pastor? I heard nobles in the capital like to marry pastors as wives.” A flamboyant blond man stood up, twirling a wine glass, full of self-satisfaction.
“Master Perry, be careful. A pastor is also a magic user,” the black-robed mage warned. “Also, that nun is the pastor. The one in white is not.”
“Oh? Did you two switch clothes?” Master Perry asked with a laugh.
Samimi and Fabiana’s expressions gradually turned cold.
Master Perry—of the Perry family. This was their target.
To think the target was right in front of them. No need to go looking anymore.
They had searched high and low with no success, only to have it handed to them on a silver platter.
Just like that, they walked through layers of security and were delivered straight to their target. It seemed the saying was true: “Lust is a knife at the head,” and being a lecher always ends in ruin.
Poor Veronica was still outside trying to sneak in, and here they were, already sent in.
But this threw their original plan off-kilter—Veronica was supposed to handle the capture. Now, waiting for her to arrive would be pointless; the timing would be off.
For now, the two stayed put, planning to give Veronica a little more time, but time was running out.
After all, they both had an extreme aversion to men. If they were touched, they might explode on the spot.
Meanwhile, what was Veronica doing?
She was disguised as a high-ranking maid, carrying a tray, forcing her way toward the VIP room.
But halfway there, she was stopped.
The guards in the VIP corridor suddenly closed in from both sides, trapping her.
Clearly, her identity had been exposed.
“What’s going on?” The other maids panicked.
“None of your business. Leave,” the captain of the guard said coldly.
The other maids immediately lifted their skirts and hurried away, leaving Veronica stranded alone.
“Hmph, you thought you could fool my eyes? Veronica,” the captain sneered.
“Jason,” Veronica’s expression turned icy in an instant.
This young captain had a scar across his face. He was barely over twenty but had become the leader of the elite guards.
Back then, it was him, along with another assassin, who killed the previous owner of Green Peach Grove. Afterward, he betrayed his partner and offered this territory to the current nobles.
“I’ve been on edge every day because I knew you’d come for revenge sooner or later,” Jason laughed. “I just didn’t expect your skills to deteriorate so much that your disguise is this shoddy.”
“Don’t flatter yourself. What are you worth to me, that I’d specifically come for revenge?” Veronica tore off her maid hat and replied coldly.
Of course, that was just bravado—she did come with revenge as part of her mission.
Her unique hair color was a fatal flaw for an assassin. Strangers might not recognize it, but someone familiar could spot it at a glance.
That’s why she usually left no witnesses alive. Otherwise, situations like this would arise.
“Then what are you doing here?” Jason asked.
“I’m an assassin from Black Street. Naturally, I’m here to take a job,” Veronica replied flatly.
“Are you asking for death? Do you know who’s sitting in there? You dare touch the Perry family’s young master? If something happens, Black Street will be buried with you!” Jason roared.
Veronica just laughed.
“How laughable. First off, I doubt the Perry family has that kind of power… but let me just say, Black Street does have allies.”
“What allies?” Jason was stunned.
“Hold on, let me finish. Everyone knows you big nobles—”
“Enough!” Jason cut her off.
Just then—
“Boom!”
The door to the VIP room exploded!
Veronica’s eyes flashed with alertness as she burst into full speed, drawing dual blades to forcefully break through.
Originally, the plan was for her teammates to draw attention while she made the assassination.
Now, it was the other way around—she drew the fire, and her teammates’ commotion became her chance to break out.
Plans changed, but as long as the result was right, that was all that mattered.
Let’s rewind a few minutes—
To see what was happening in the VIP room.
The room had a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the entire auction hall.
Samimi happened to see Niubao being led onto the stage by the Madam. She was still dozing off, unaware that she was being auctioned.
It was an infuriating scene, but Niubao’s state made it almost comical.
“Still sleeping,” Samimi shook her head helplessly.
By now, commotion was rising from outside—clearly, Veronica had started her move.
“Let’s do it as we discussed,” Samimi whispered to Fabiana, signaling readiness.
“I’ll handle the mage,” Fabiana whispered back. “You do whatever you want.”
“Alright, time’s short. Let’s start the party.” Master Perry was still reveling in self-admiration, spinning around as he reached out to touch Fabiana’s face.
“Slap!”
Fabiana’s face darkened as she slapped his hand away.
“Heh, feisty. I like it—AHHHHHHH!”
Master Perry’s laughter turned to a scream.
He found his arm wouldn’t lift.
His entire arm had been shattered by that single blow.
The scream was like a pig being slaughtered.
“Master!” The black-robed mage immediately raised his staff, activating his magic to protect his charge.
“[Holy Rose Phantom Sword], [Magic upon Magic].”
The black-robed nun beside him moved faster.
With a wave of her hand, she summoned a rose magic sword, layering enchantment spells to amplify its power.
This scene upended decades of the black-robed mage’s understanding.
What kind of bizarre magic was this?
Before he could react, terrifying magic slashes came flying at him.
He had no choice but to instantly deploy a full-coverage egg-shaped magic shield, blocking the attacks entirely.
But the floor-to-ceiling window behind him shattered, sending shards of glass raining down onto the auction hall below.
“AHHH! What’s happening?!”
“Run! Run!”
“Please, guests, stay calm!”
Pandemonium erupted on the scene.
At the same time, a flood of slave knights poured out from every passageway.
