There was a feeling that the Silver-haired Girl was avoiding everything; otherwise she would not have appeared only now.
The vines binding Jin Luan and Huan Hong had weakened somewhat, but they had not disappeared; they began to struggle.
Huan Hong’s brute strength was very useful; she could tear these vines apart.
Jin Luan’s strength was much lower. At this moment, she turned the Knife, reversed her grip on the Uchigatana, and used the blade to cut away the vines binding her body.
Her movements were rough; even if the blade cut herself and caused a minor Injury, she did not care.
She was very anxious now, with a strong feeling that she had to catch that Silver-haired Girl.
Looking up again, the Silver-haired Girl had recovered somewhat; although she still looked very pained, it no longer greatly affected her movement.
Her Magical Wings moved; she clearly wanted to leave.
“Don’t go! I still have things to ask you!”
Jin Luan shouted, continuing to cut the vines with the blade.
“Was it you on campus that day?”
“Was it you who entered the Student Council Room?”
“Was it you who took my things?”
“Was it you who put something in my car?”
Even though she knew this was the answer, Jin Luan still hoped to hear her admit it herself.
But the Silver-haired Girl did not answer; she began flying backward, just like Lihua Mei’s Rewind Magic.
Jin Luan finally broke free of the vines; not caring at all about Mana consumption, she used Instant Step repeatedly to close in, wanting to catch up to the Silver-haired Girl.
The Silver-haired Girl flew backward, faster and faster, already exceeding 200 kilometers per hour, and still increasing.
This move did have a certain effect, but unfortunately, her Mana was consumed too quickly, already exceeding the total amount that could support such a huge consumption.
Jin Luan could only keep using Instant Step, barely keeping up through short bursts.
Feeling the rapid consumption of MP and the effects of the Barrier Against Spellcasting, Jin Luan grew more and more anxious.
She shouted something, wanting to call the Silver-haired Girl back. Her voice could hardly reach her ears, and she was clearly refusing to communicate.
From Jin Luan’s actions, it was clear that Jin Luan longed to communicate and hoped to talk with her, but she showed no intention of stopping to make contact.
She used up even her last bit of Mana, attempting to activate one final Instant Step that would force her out of Magical Girl Form.
During the Casting Bar, her Mana was too low; her head nearly split with pain, and she was so weak she just wanted to sleep immediately.
As expected, she was about to be kicked out of Magical Girl Form.
She still gritted her teeth and forcibly activated Instant Step, flashing to the front of the Silver-haired Girl, almost only a foot away.
Xia Shiyao reached out, wanting to grab her.
Unfortunately, she was still a few centimeters short and could not touch her.
The light emitted by the Magical Wings illuminated both of them.
Because the Silver-haired Girl was flying backward, the two were face-to-face at this moment, each able to see the other’s face clearly.
What a sad, painful expression. It was clearly a familiar face, yet that Mannerism was so unfamiliar it did not seem like the same person at all.
The eyes that represented the window to the soul were blurred by tears; it was unclear whether it was the pain of a wounded body or some pain of the heart she had suffered.
The Silver-haired Girl’s gaze was somewhat evasive; she did not dare meet her eyes and looked away.
Until she noticed Xia Shiyao had returned to her True Form and was falling downward.
Xia Shiyao wanted to grab her but failed; she only touched those ultra-long strands of Silver Hair, her palm brushing through hair as smooth as silk.
The Silver-haired Girl seemed to want to reach out and grab her as she fell, but her hand stopped halfway.
The two gradually grew distant, with no dialogue, no physical contact.
The Silver-haired Girl did not slow down and left this place; within a few seconds, her figure was no longer clear.
Xia Shiyao could only watch her leave into the distance, her body still falling, until just before hitting the ground, she felt she had bumped into something.
Looking, it was Huan Hong, who had broken free of the vines and caught her.
“Chase her, hurry!”
Xia Shiyao commanded excitedly.
But Huan Hong did not act; very calmly, she slowly landed and put her on the ground.
“Did you not hear me? Take me to chase her now.”
Xia Shiyao roared, so anxious she was completely unlike her usual calm self.
“We might not be able to catch up; her speed is too fast.”
Huan Hong pressed her shoulder, trying to calm her down.
“What if she is tired and resting? What if she is waiting for me? If you don’t chase, how do you know?”
Xia Shiyao was still shouting.
“We need to leave here.”
Huan Hong reminded her again.
“The Defeated Team is coming.”
“Listen to me, if we chase now, there is still a chance; if we don’t go now, we will never have another chance!”
Xia Shiyao still would not cooperate.
A crisp slap rang out; Huan Hong struck hard, and one slap brought Xia Shiyao back to reality.
This move still worked well.
After Xia Shiyao calmed down, Huan Hong then carried her flying away from this place.
Suddenly, she noticed a silver glimmer flash before her eyes.
Having calmed down, Xia Shiyao looked at her palm. It was a slender strand of Silver Hair, torn off when her hand had brushed through that hair earlier.
One minute later, the Defeated Team arrived first; they came by air.
The Defeated Team came by land and also arrived, immediately joining with the Sheriff to seal off the scene. This was their procedure for handling Abyssal Demon Incidents.
After a few more minutes, the crowd here gradually increased.
Liang Tai was late this time; when he arrived at the scene, he could only see the shocking sight of Demonic Creatures lying neatly fallen on the ground.
The scene was not exactly a mess; instead, it was preserved quite intact.
So many Demonic Creatures would normally cause havoc in the City, destroy countless property, cause massive casualties, and very likely destroy the City.
Yet this time they had not even destroyed a single Graveyard Monument; they died peacefully, without even time to destroy this place.
What on earth happened?
Neither Liang Tai nor the well-informed viewers in his Live Broadcast Room could understand this bizarre scene.
In the distance, Professor Meng and Huang Yi had just put down their Mobile Phones and understood their colleagues’ reports.
Professor Meng received two reports: one from an Expert colleague, and another from another colleague.
The report Huang Yi received was more detailed; after all, he had been reinstated to his post and was from the Eastern Alliance Countermeasure Center.
“Was it her?”
Huang Yi put the Mobile Phone aside.
“It should be her.”
Professor Meng gave a fairly certain answer.
“Tell me, what exactly happened? Why did she almost kill you?”
Huang Yi seemed very calm.
Professor Meng did not speak, pointing at his Mobile Phone.
Huang Yi understood and handed the Mobile Phone to him; he, in turn, handed the Mobile Phone to his old wife outside, who took it away.
Only then did Professor Meng continue speaking.
“Where should I start… This matter is a bit complicated.”
He scratched his head, sorting out his thoughts.
Huang Yi: “Start with why she attacked you a few days ago.”
“I know, but this matter is a bit fantastical and a bit convoluted.”
Professor Meng paused for a moment before continuing.
“Simply put, I made a plan targeting Yin Lin, so she attacked me and gave me a severe lesson.”
