North of Red Pine City, over that endless stretch of mountain ranges, the brilliant light once again shone down upon the earth. It fell like an enormous curtain of radiance, exuding an awe-inspiring, terrifying presence.
Karl faced this curtain of light, raised a hand, and adjusted the glasses perched on his nose.
After the dazzling glow enveloped everything, the space where he stood remained empty, forming a black rectangular outline. He lowered his hand from his glasses and let out what seemed like a helpless sigh.
“So it still came to this…”
“Mr. Karl.”
Lei De had already repaired his body, though his presence was still considerably weaker than before. He walked over to Karl’s side.
Karl didn’t look at him. Instead, he clasped his hands behind his back and gazed toward “Rosily,” who stood within the curtain of light yet remained unharmed.
After a moment, he turned his head slightly to glance at Lei De.
“This is the consequence of your recklessness.”
“Yes…”
Lei De hung his head in shame.
The intelligence had already confirmed that Enya hadn’t taken up residence in Red Pine City, but had instead gone to the City of the Other Shore to fully transform into a dragon.
But this “Dragon Nest” still stirred irresistible curiosity!
Besides, there was also that little scheme of his…
The Evil God’s eye opened. It first looked at Karl, who had appeared here, then glanced at Lei De, who looked thoroughly dejected.
“Hehehe, weren’t you acting all high and mighty before? Get beaten up and suddenly you’re obedient. Hahaha.”
Lei De didn’t respond. He glanced at the petite Silver Dragon Girl hovering in the mid-distance, then ultimately pretended not to hear anything and fixed his gaze on Karl.
“Mr. Karl, will you take those two girls away?”
Karl still had his back turned to him. He remained silent, giving no definite answer—which in itself indicated that he was hesitating over whether to do so.
On the other side, Phil sensed that her daughter’s body seemed to be reaching its limit.
If she kept holding her daughter’s hand to strike others, her daughter would end up hurting herself as well. Phil didn’t want to see that happen, so the intensity of that curtain of light gradually weakened.
In that instant, Karl seemed to make his decision.
He raised his hand as if to reach out, but then, as though struck by an electric shock, he withdrew it at lightning speed. The space around him and Lei De twisted, and within moments, the two of them vanished.
Running away—decisive and clean!
Seeing this, Phil also let out a sigh of relief.
A faint apparition appeared behind “Rosily.” Phil slowly opened her eyes, and at the same moment, Rosily closed hers.
The dragon-like features on the girl hadn’t yet disappeared. On her cheeks were crystalline pink soft scales identical to her mother’s, adorning her already exquisite and beautiful face with even more splendor.
The silver Dragon Horns weren’t metallic in nature, but rather like crystal. Looking closely, one could see that the crystalline horns were transparent—the silver came from the fine, dust-like silvery-white stars within the horns.
For Rosily, who possessed the sky dragon bloodline, this pair of horns was an extremely important casting organ—like a Magic User’s Staff—capable of rapid spellcasting and amplifying magical effects.
Phil didn’t move to seal Rosily’s Dragon Bloodline or eighth-order core first. Her gaze had already locked onto another direction. Beneath the night sky, the colossal Dragon flew toward the Northern Mountains.
A familiar presence was approaching.
Delta escorted Enya to the gate. With a wave of her delicate hand, the mist shrouding the mountain peak split open into a massive hole. Light from above streamed in, forming a circular pillar of radiance.
Enya leaped upward, transforming into a colossal Dragon mid-air. Her pale silver draconic body gleamed under the sunlight.
She didn’t look back at the Fox Princess Delta, flying straight out through the hole of light in the sky—instantly crossing from the mist-shrouded forest into the sky of the present world.
The hole of light gradually closed. Delta leaned against the gate, gazing at that spot for a long time, as if she could still see the Enya who had just left.
Zeta walked over, puffing out her little lips in complaint:
“Sister, why did you let her go again?”
“What does it matter?”
“If it were me, I wouldn’t have let her leave. Now all our sisters have no one to play with. What are we supposed to do about that, Sister Delta~”
“Hehe.”
Delta covered her mouth and chuckled.
The Fox Princesses’ names weren’t actually all assigned by number. The names were chosen by themselves—they could use their numbers as names, or they could give themselves whatever name they desired.
Every Fox Princess also had her own life. Having experienced different environments and held different memories, each of them was an independent self—and this contradicted the answer Enya had given…
The moment Enya was sent back to the present world, her colossal Dragon form locked her gaze onto her two daughters instantaneously.
“Estelle’s consciousness directly took Lei De and fled using that bizarre evasion technique.”
He had no intention of facing Enya head-on—only someone without a brain would do something like that, and brains were the one thing Karl never lacked.
It was precisely at this moment that Karl abandoned the notion of taking Rosily and Estelle away.
With him and Lei De gone, the rest of those who sensed trouble also fled. The Low-level Cultists who had been brainwashed and modified were simply abandoned on the spot—and there were still a great many of them.
They could no longer be saved. Only by killing them and then performing Purification could these suffering Souls be released.
Not good.
Enya caught sight of Karl and Lei De’s figures. Her emotions were complicated.
***
Leaving Rosily and Estelle in Red Pine City didn’t seem safe.
Enya didn’t know what they intended to do, but she would never allow those bastards to threaten her daughters’ safety.
Unless she could stay by her daughters’ side at all times. The enemies had no interest—or rather, no courage—to make a move against her directly, so they could only target her two daughters instead.
Elimination was her duty.
That sentence flashed through Enya’s mind—words engraved deep in her memory.
She flew faster than ever before. Less than five seconds after Karl and Lei De fled, she arrived at the vicinity.
Enya transformed back into human form, landing in a grove of trees, and quickly walked beneath a certain tree.
Her high-heeled boots rustled softly against the fallen leaves as she circled behind the trunk. The scene before her was a blurry Silver Hair woman, gently humming a lullaby while holding a sleeping Silver Dragon Girl in her arms.
When Phil saw Enya approach, she smiled and made a shushing gesture.
Enya let out a soft sigh.
She lightened her footsteps, walked up to Phil, and then said in a cold voice:
“Why didn’t you call me from the very beginning?”
Phil turned her head away, momentarily unable to answer.
“Well…”
“Information is just like quantum entanglement—there’s no time delay.”
She and she were original body and incarnation, able to synchronize through resonance.
The moment Karl hesitated, Phil had chosen to synchronize that information to Enya.
Of course, her research into drawing power from the Dream World, as well as many of the thoughts in her heart, were all synchronized without reservation to Enya, who was vacationing at the Fox Princesses’ home.
Having the same memories and experiences meant they would always be one person—only when one side diverged from the other, and as time passed and the differences grew larger, would the incarnation truly develop a self of her own. That too was a kind of childbirth.
Enya let out a light snort and said:
“I’ll deal with you when we get back.”
“Mhm mhm~”
Phil smiled faintly, but soon sank into self-reproach.
Enya took Rosily from Phil’s arms, pressing one hand against her daughter’s lower abdomen.
That lively eighth-order core in her hand behaved like a docile little puppy—sealed away with effortless ease.
Next came the crimson threads, which re-wound around Rosily’s spine. The inhuman features on her body gradually faded, and her long Silver Hair reverted to its original pale gold.
But her once shoulder-length hair had now become the same length as her sister’s—waist…
