“How is my sister?” Cang Jing’s voice trembled.
“She… is she still alive?”
Her gaze began to wander, looking left and right at the scenery around her that was so realistic.
The surging Yellow Dragon True Essence, strand after strand, thick and heavy—the scene seemed real, as if it were genuine.
But Cang Jing, who had grown up in the Yellow Dragon Clan, knew.
The Yellow Dragon Clan had no such place.
Nor could such a place exist.
As Jiang Huai had said, if such a place existed, given the two dragons’ status as Saintesses, the Yellow Dragon Clan would definitely have opened it for them.
If that were the case, then the awkwardness between Cang Jing and Cang Ling wouldn’t be so severe.
They had hatched from the same dragon egg; from the first heartbeat, they shared everything.
Even part of their memories could be linked.
Jiang Huai sighed and murmured to himself:
“To be honest, I don’t know either.”
“Outside, I saw that her crystal had been completely eroded.”
“So I came to save you.”
Cang Jing listened to Jiang Huai explain the reason, and for a long time she couldn’t snap out of it.
Her amber dragon eyes became dull and hollow.
Countless scenes from the past surged into her mind.
She trained with her sister, lived together, ate together, slept together, endured all the trivialities of life together—all kept flooding through her mind.
Cang Jing had always believed that she and her sister were bound by life and death.
She hated that, but also couldn’t escape it.
Living beings are always complicated.
When together, she would think of many annoying things—hated her for being carefree, hated her for always causing trouble, hated her for not sleeping at night and doing other things.
Yet she absolutely could not accept truly parting from her, separated by the cruelest divide of Yin and Yang.
Especially since it happened so suddenly, without any warning.
“No!”
Cang Jing’s voice suddenly rose, her dragon eyes glistening with water, the layer of mist growing thicker and heavier.
With strength she didn’t know she had, she trembled her arms, pushed herself up, and stood.
“I won’t allow her to leave me like this.”
“She can’t… leave me like this.”
Her figure swayed, like a reed in a strong wind, but she stood there, not falling.
“I do… I do sometimes hate her.”
“We don’t get along, and I also want to be apart from her.”
Her tears finally fell.
“But… but we… can’t part like this.”
She raised her head, her eyes soaked with tears, carrying an unyielding determination:
“I want to be with her.”
“Face death together.”
She stood there, her silhouette like a warrior.
Though unclothed, the perfect muscular curves outlined her resolve and unyielding spirit—shoulders broad but not wide, waist slender yet full of strength.
Against the earthy yellow background, her figure appeared even more steadfast.
She suddenly looked at Jiang Huai.
“Can you take me to her?”
“Is there even a sliver of hope to save her?”
“If there is, even if I have to be shattered to pieces, ground to dust, I will find her and bring her back.”
“My sister—I won’t allow her to leave me like this.”
Jiang Huai also stood up.
He stared at his palm, silent for a moment.
His palm was empty.
He clenched his fist, then opened it.
In a way, Cang Jing had already shared life and death with Cang Ling.
Both sisters had chosen to shatter themselves for the other.
Both wanted to free the other from their shackles.
But he had no method.
If he were at the Great Ascension Stage, perhaps there would be a way, but for now, he was only at the Nascent Soul Stage.
“I don’t… I don’t know what to…”
But Cang Jing did not give up at all. She still stared at Jiang Huai and asked, “Isn’t the Yin-Yang Body capable? I can feel that she isn’t truly dead—I can feel it!”
“Can you think of something?”
Her tone suddenly softened, and she said quietly:
“She actually… actually has a good impression of you. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have…”
Jiang Huai sighed, shifting his gaze to Ji Xi, who was silently enduring tremendous pressure off to the side.
Senior was as calm as ever, standing there, bearing the immense pressure.
Jiang Huai’s heart suddenly became active. He himself might not be a Great Ascension Stage Yin-Yang Body, but wasn’t there one right beside him?
He stepped forward, grabbed Cang Jing’s arm, and waved at Ao Yao behind him, his voice urgent:
“Let’s go! I’ll take you to meet someone. There might be hope.”
Ao Yao was startled, tilting her little head, her big emerald eyes blinking:
“Meet someone? Is there anyone else here?”
It was a vast void.
Stars flickered in the distance, casting the space in a hazy, dreamlike glow, as if in the depths of the universe.
No up or down, no near or far, no direction.
Jiang Huai stepped into it.
On his left shoulder coiled a small yellow dragon, and on his right shoulder coiled an even smaller azure dragon.
Ao Yao’s dragon eyes were wide open, curiously looking around, her scales like emerald tea leaves.
In the void not far away, a tall figure was coiled.
She had her back to them, her back to all living beings. Green sleeves gently fluttered in the void, and her long hair cascaded like a waterfall down to her waist.
Just her back alone inspired reverence.
Though they didn’t know her strength yet, both Cang Jing and Ao Yao felt a surge of fear.
“Who is that?” Ao Yao crawled to Jiang Huai’s ear, her dragon snout close to his ear, and asked softly.
Jiang Huai bowed respectfully:
“Senior Ji, sorry for the disturbance.”
The tall figure stirred slightly.
“What have you placed on me, little Jiang Huai?”
She slowly stood up. Thanks to her exceptionally tall stature, her chest was also quite large—not the voluptuousness of a Red Dragon, but a fullness that matched her height. Her legs were long and straight.
Her entire presence exuded an aura, with the calm and ease of a supreme powerhouse.
Ji Xi looked down at Jiang Huai and the two small dragons on his shoulders.
“Hm? Dragons.”
Ji Xi smiled warmly at Cang Jing and Ao Yao, her gaze very friendly.
Every generation of dragons had been loyal to the Yin-Yang Body; she had fought alongside dragons, experiencing countless life-and-death battles.
Naturally, she felt an instinctive closeness to dragons.
Especially these two young dragons.
Before Jiang Huai could answer, her eyes quickly moved to the green short sword at his waist.
Then her smile froze.
“Huh?!”
Ji Xi covered her mouth in surprise, her delicate hand hiding her slightly parted red lips.
“How do you have this sword?”
She waved her hand. Snap. The short sword at Jiang Huai’s waist flew into Ji Xi’s hand.
Ao Yao was dumbfounded. She immediately pounced!
Her small dragon body turned into a flash of green lightning, claws spread, tail taut, wrapping around the short sword.
Her body coiled tightly around the hilt, claws gripping the guard firmly, as if guarding her life, and she bared her teeth at Ji Xi.
“Don’t take my sword!”
“No one else can touch this thing! Understand?!”
