“Hey, aren’t you going to answer your little cat’s call?”
Seeing the Beast God standing there in a daze, Truth stared at its horns, which constantly pulsed with the light of Summoning Power, and prompted it with a hint of amusement.
However, the Beast God said nothing. Instead, with a flick of its mind, it actively blocked Wilona’s call and continued sweating profusely…
It wanted to flee… but with a King Rank Blood Demon’s pursuit capabilities, it probably wouldn’t get away, right?
“Huh?” Seeing the Beast God like this, Truth revealed a meaningful smile.
She had thought Wilona’s escape with Little Mist would be more creative, but it turned out she just used that Bone Flute to summon a Twelfth Rank deity to come fish her out? Tsk, tsk…
And she never expected this Beastmen’s deity to actually be a Rui Beast. That caught Truth off guard.
Truth gave the still-nervous Beast God another once-over, then kicked its front paw hard, demanding fiercely:
“Hey! I’m talking to you, can’t you hear me?!”
Ever since her fight with the Goddess of Life, Truth had gradually shed the aura of reverence she once held for these deities.
Though she still didn’t know how powerful the other gods were, based solely on the Goddess of Life’s performance, Truth felt that deity had nothing but a bunch of empty stats—no combat instincts whatsoever to match her Rank.
That said, Truth had also noticed the Goddess of Life was deliberately hiding something.
During their fight, she had used her Divine Domain to conceal the battle, but even within the domain, she hadn’t gone all out.For
For instance, the Goddess of Life never once used her various Legendary Grade defensive gear or her Legendary Weapons!
She would rather accept Truth escaping from under her nose than use the power of her Legendary Items… So who was she guarding against?
Was she guarding against Truth? Against Omili? Or against some other existence Truth didn’t yet know about?
Hmm, that was worth keeping an eye on… And after fighting the Goddess of Life, Truth had also confirmed one thing: the deities really had no effective countermeasures against demons.
“They can’t even handle Ninth Rank demons, and they think they can handle an Eleventh Rank like me?” Truth thought to herself.
And so Truth started getting cocky.
When she sensed the Beast God’s divine will descending over the Mist, instead of hiding her aura and preparing to fight, she kept her main body in the Mist and projected her consciousness to the Beast God, revealing herself openly and flashing her 119-level King Rank aura. The
The result? It scared this Beast God so badly it was trembling.
“I’m listening…” the Beast God replied immediately. Its tone sounded calm, as if everything was under control, but it still didn’t dare meet Truth’s eyes.
Because Truth’s Stealth and Sin-Concealment passive skills were leveled so high, even the Beast God couldn’t immediately detect the fateful nature of Truth that would bring it misfortune.
And the reason it feared Truth was simple—the Twelfth Rank Beast God knew it stood no chance against an Eleventh Rank peak Blood Demon like Truth!
Add to that the fact that the Beast God knew exactly what demons were like, and its panic made perfect sense.
Though it was a Twelfth Rank deity, just like the Prophetess Saint under the Goddess of Life, it had a high position and certain standout abilities, but was absolutely terrible at combat.
To put it in Truth’s words: the Beast God was the type of support player who specialized in secretly sticking voodoo dolls on enemies from behind.
If you ever dared put the Beast God on the front lines, it would die on the spot just to prove a point!
And the Beast God was very clearly aware of its own strength.
It had tested itself before—its true combat power was roughly equivalent to a 109-level Eleventh Rank peak.Saying
Saying that out loud might still sound impressive, since even at its weakest, it was still King Rank.
But let’s not forget—it was a Twelfth Rank deity!
A Twelfth Rank deity with only King Rank 109-level combat strength?
If that got out, the Beast God’s status would plummet. So
So to maintain its image as a mighty, high-status deity, the Beast God had directly added “Benevolence” to its persona.
And so the Beastmen got a deity who was completely at odds with their own bloodthirsty, war-loving nature.Several
Several hundred years passed, and the Beastmen didn’t even have any records of the Beast God fighting.
All one could say was that the Beast God was simply too benevolent…
“So what did you mean by shouting at me to come out earlier, back in the Mist?” Truth asked, arms crossed over her chest, chin raised arrogantly.
“That was just my tone being a bit sharp… I definitely didn’t mean to insult you! How about… I apologize to you right now?” The Beast God shrank its neck and asked tentatively, trying to soften Truth’s aggressive demeanor.
“Tsk, soft-boned thing~”
Truth revealed a meaningful smile. After learning this Beast God’s personality, Truth unilaterally declared she had this Rui Beast completely under her thumb.
“I’m sorry!” Ignoring Truth’s mockery, the Beast God apologized without hesitation.
“What did you say? Your voice is a little quiet. I can’t quite hear you.”
“I’m sorry!” This time, the Beast God raised its voice a bit more. In that moment, it snuck a glance at Truth, then quickly averted its gaze again.
Damn it, this demon’s human form was actually kind of cute. She was on par with Wilona, honestly. Too bad she didn’t have cat ears…
The Beast God had almost no resistance to Truth’s petite, cute human form. But in its eyes, this form of Truth had one fatal flaw—she was a demon.
“Louder! And where’s the apologetic gesture?” The demon made her demands.
“Ugh… I’m sorry!” This time, the Beast God’s voice was deafening, echoing through the entire Frozen Temple.
At the same time, its noble head and the three pairs of wings behind it drooped low.
Just then, the Beast God seemed to think of something. The next second, a special, enormous light screen appeared before both Truth and itself.
The Beast God pointed at the light screen and continued:
“To express my sincere apologies to you, as the Beast God, I have decided to gift you one hundred years of good luck!”
With that, the Beast God began operating the light screen menu right in front of Truth.
Its claws skillfully checked off its friend list: Goddess of Life, Order God, Demon God, Sea God, Earth Goddess, Spirit God, Holy God… and many other deities. Then
Then, using handwriting input, it quickly scribbled a short line in the Orc Language:
“Help! A King Rank Blood Demon has come knocking on my door!”
That’s right, the Beast God was calling for backup. Gifting luck was all just an excuse.
After all, this Blood Demon couldn’t understand what this interface was anyway.
But before the Beast God could finish writing, Truth curiously leaned her little head in and looked at the Beast God’s light screen.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t read the Orc Language… but this interface—she was all too familiar with it. She asked curiously:
“Who are you messaging on the Chat Bar? Oh? How come you’ve got the group send checked?”
The next second, the Beast God’s heart stopped.
Huh? Why… does this Blood Demon… know about the Chat Bar?!
