Phil lightly patted Estelle on the back and said casually.
“Alright, get up and go eat breakfast.”
“……”
Estelle didn’t know how to respond, so she could only reply with silence.
Phil released her embrace. Without giving Estelle too much time to react, she directly pulled Estelle up from the bed into a sitting position.
Downstairs, Rosily had already finished washing up.
She was sitting alone at the dining table, eating slightly crispy fried bread and drinking room-temperature milk that had been boiled and then cooled.
When she looked up, she happened to see Estelle appear neatly at the staircase, while Phil appeared a step later.
After Estelle saw Rosily, her footsteps instantly stopped.
At that moment, Phil placed a hand on her shoulder. Estelle snapped out of it and went to wash up.
Phil glanced at Rosily, who was sitting upright on a chair, silently eating breakfast. A flicker of inspiration passed through her eyes.
She had an idea…
The issues that Estelle and Rosily were worrying about were not problems at all from Phil’s—or rather, Enya’s—perspective.
When Estelle returned after washing up, she sat in her usual chair and ate breakfast with elegant posture.
Rosily also kept eating by herself, while Phil quietly watched her two daughters.
There was no hurry to get to The Academy, so breakfast was leisurely, but even a leisurely meal eventually comes to an end.
Phil cleared the plates and cutlery, washed two ceramic cups.
The gold and silver sisters were still sitting in their previous chairs, showing no signs of urgency, even though today’s matter was very important—it was the last key assessment that would determine their grades after half a month of intensive practice.
The backpacks were all stored in the rings, so Phil didn’t have much to prepare.
She gave Rosily and Estelle an equal amount of potions, enough for them to share with their teammates.
Standing at the entrance of the courtyard, just as they were about to say a brief farewell, Phil suddenly took Rosily’s and Estelle’s hands.
The bright smile on Phil’s face gradually faded. She took a deep breath and spoke to her two daughters.
“Actually, a long time ago, I was an adventurer for a while…”
“Huh? How come I didn’t know?”
Rosily blinked her big, sparkling eyes and looked at her mother with curiosity.
Although she knew Phil was an alchemist, she hadn’t expected Phil to have worked as an adventurer.
Phil looked at Rosily and said teasingly.
“Because back then, Mommy didn’t have you by her side yet.”
“Ohhh.”
Rosily looked as if she understood.
‘Mom never told me about this…’
Phil continued.
“Back then, I had a modest dream—I wanted to personally visit every place in this world and see its complete form.”
“I had no money, so I could only work as an adventurer and part-time pharmacist to earn enough, and then go to another place. It was a kind of budget travel, I guess?”
“But later, due to some things, I stayed in the same place. It’s a pity that the dream fizzled out.”
“But I wouldn’t call it regret… everything is in the past, and I stopped caring long ago. The reason I’m telling you this is just to say that if there’s something you want to do, you should do it early. You might not regret it later, but there will be some lingering feelings of loss.”
After speaking, Phil let out a long sigh.
Enya had indeed thought about lighting up all the planet statues in the Library of Survival’s Creation within the Sea of Consciousness.
If compared to playing a game, Enya wanted to explore 100% of the big world map to see if that silent library would show any change.
Currently, Enya was nearly halfway done, but the library still hadn’t changed at all.
It was as if it were dead, or perhaps it wasn’t even running!
What she had just said came from her true feelings.
Estelle and Rosily both looked up at Phil at that moment.
Phil chuckled lightly and said.
“Alright, off you go.”
The two sisters exchanged a glance, then turned and walked towards the carriage parked not far away. Under Phil’s watchful gaze, they boarded.
The carriage drove along the smooth road, gradually moving away from home.
Inside the carriage, the two young ladies sat facing each other, but neither looked at the other; instead, they stared off into space, lost in thought.
Rosily’s eyelashes drooped slightly.
Her mind was very active—a trait she inherited from Enya.
From what Phil had just said, she understood that perhaps it was because of her own appearance that her mother’s journey to travel the world had been interrupted.
She loved the scent of her mother, the warmth of her mother, the warm embrace that was always open to her.
What Rosily loved most of all was acting spoiled with Phil.
But it seemed she had never known what her mother liked, what her mother wanted.
She felt that she only asked her mother for love but could do nothing for her in return.
Rosily closed her eyes and recalled the first time she opened her eyes and saw her mother.
Phil’s face was covered in sweat, and she held Rosily with great care.
Rosily’s memories of the past were very blurry.
She had asked her mother about it and was told it was due to a strange illness she had as a child. Even now, she had to drink that red potion every month.
Although the taste wasn’t bad, it definitely wasn’t good either.
She opened her eyes.
After her orange-red pupils focused, she turned her head towards Estelle, who was sitting across from her.
Watching her still-dazed sister, Rosily paused for a few seconds and then spoke.
“Did you tell Mom?”
“……”
Estelle turned her head and looked at her blankly.
Rosily’s gaze was sharp as she met Estelle’s light-golden eyes.
“I also want to ask why that person abandoned Mother.”
“You…”
“I told you, it’s what I want.”
“……”
Rosily said this to Estelle with a smile.
Estelle looked at her sister, who had already made up her mind, and ultimately said nothing.
After spending so many days together, she had come to understand Rosily’s personality—she meant what she said and would do whatever she said.
Estelle nodded slightly.
Rosily was not satisfied with just that. She raised her hand, made a fist, and only extended her pinky finger, shaking it at Estelle.
“Let’s make a pact between sisters.”
“Alright…”
Estelle hesitated for a moment, then pursed her lips and raised her hand, hooking her pinky with her sister’s pinky.
Rosily looked at their linked pinkies.
Her smile became layered with many emotions—relief, nervousness, and a trace of confusion—but she quickly steadied her gaze, with a high curve on her lips.
The young lady looked out the window at the familiar scenery, seeming a little lost in thought.
Rosily realized that Phil’s earlier words were actually meant specifically for her, implying her approval and a hint of expectation.
Rosily naturally wouldn’t let down her mother’s expectations.
