Li Chi arrived at the park as the sky had completely darkened.
When Li Chi found Li Guang on the park bench, she was hugging a box of takoyaki, eating it in small bites, her toes tapping the ground intermittently. When she saw her brother’s figure, her eyes immediately lit up.
“Bro! Over here!”
Li Chi walked over, naturally taking the nearly empty box from her hand, finishing off the last two pieces, and casually ruffling her hair while discreetly wiping his hand.
“Been waiting long?”
“Not at all, I just got here a little while ago.” Li Guang patted the spot beside her.
“What happened with Mom and Dad? Weren’t they supposed to arrive today?”
Li Chi sat down and recounted the somewhat incoherent phone call from their father.
Basically, the two had run into an old classmate and close friend from over a decade ago in the airport VIP lounge.
The other couple was on their wedding anniversary trip, and after not seeing each other for years, once they started chatting, they couldn’t stop.
As a result… they perfectly missed their flight home.
“So,” Li Chi summarized, “they’re now continuing the party with their old friends at a hotel near the airport. They’ll probably remember they have two kids at home waiting to be fed sometime next week.”
After hearing this, Li Guang was stunned for a moment, perhaps because the incident itself was quite amusing, and combined with Li Chi’s entertaining way of telling it, she soon burst into laughter, her shoulders shaking.
“Dad is so unreliable! But… running into good friends they haven’t seen in so long and chatting so happily, that doesn’t seem too bad?” She tilted her head, her face showing an understanding smile. “Anyway, we can take care of ourselves, right, Brother?”
“Yeah.”
Li Chi looked at his sister’s cloudless smiling face, and the subtle helplessness he felt from their parents’ unreliability dissipated.
This was his family—they could always bring warmth and joy so easily.
“Let’s go. We agreed to eat out tonight. What do you want? Brother’s treating.”
“Yay! Let’s go! I want fried chicken!” Li Guang jumped up, linking her arm with Li Chi’s, her smile brighter than the sunset.
Li Chi frowned at the mention of fried chicken.
“Why do you want to eat that unhealthy stuff again…”
As her older brother, Li Chi was always thinking about his sister’s health.
It wasn’t that he rejected fried chicken outright; it was just that eating too much of it really wasn’t good for the body.
“Come on, it’s a rare outing!”
Li Guang shook Li Chi’s arm, saying it in a coquettish tone.
“Fine, fine, whatever you say.”
Li Chi wasn’t one to hold out against persistence, so he agreed after a few shakes.
Just as they were about to leave, a clear, melodious female voice, carrying a hint of urgency and surprise, came from behind them.
“Wait a minute! The pair of sisters in front!”
The siblings stopped at the same time, exchanging puzzled glances.
After confirming that she was calling them, they turned around.
The one who had called them was a young girl. She was dressed in an exquisitely designed dress, the hem adorned with tiny starlight-like sequins.
Her pink hair was slightly curled, and her doll-like appearance was almost unrealistically beautiful.
Yet her eyes shone with the excitement of discovering a treasure.
Not far behind her was a middle-aged woman in a suit, looking somewhat nervous, like a manager or assistant.
The girl quickly stepped forward, her gaze scanning back and forth between Li Chi and Li Guang’s faces, lingering longer on Li Chi.
She exclaimed in admiration, “Wow… it really is! I saw you two from over there earlier and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! Are you two twin sisters? Your aura and looks are just too outstanding!”
Li Guang blinked, not immediately reacting to the “sisters” label. And Li Chi…
Li Chi touched his hair, which was already covering his ears and neck a bit.
The supercharged metabolism from the Amazon variant had made his hair grow at an astonishing speed.
Originally, for convenience, he got a haircut once a week, but his last one was six days ago.
Now, the soft blue hair had grown to just shoulder length.
Combined with his handsome face that highly resembled Li Guang’s…
Heh… looks like someone mistook me for a girl…
The corner of Li Chi’s mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.
But the girl didn’t notice this subtle awkwardness at all—or rather, she was completely immersed in her own world.
Her tone grew even more enthusiastic. “Let me introduce myself. I’m Xing Yuan Cai. You two have really, really special physical conditions! Especially this big sister.”
She looked at Li Chi, her eyes sparkling as she said, “This androgynous beauty with a cool vibe yet so refined—it’s super rare right now! Are you interested in coming to our agency to take a look? With your qualifications, you could definitely debut together and become the most eye-catching sister idol duo!”
The air suddenly fell silent for a moment.
Li Guang covered her mouth tightly beside him, her shoulders shaking violently, her face flushed red—clearly on the verge of laughing hysterically.
She glanced at Xing Yuan Cai, who had a face full of sincerity and was completely unaware of the issue, then at her brother’s expressionless face, which, to someone as familiar as her, showed a hint of stiffness and helplessness…
She suddenly understood Chi Zaozao’s mood—this really was quite fun.
Li Chi looked at the enthusiastic idol girl in front of him, saying nothing, just silently sighing in his heart.
He cleared his throat and spoke in his voice, which was clearer than usual due to the aftereffects of the transformation but now deliberately lowered a bit.
“…Um, Miss Xing, first of all, thank you very much for your appreciation.”
“Waaah! That voice—it’s amazing!!!”
Xing Yuan Cai was thrilled, clasping her hands together, her star-shaped pupils reflecting an indescribable anticipation.
In her ears, Li Chi’s voice was neither mature nor immature, yet it carried an unforgettable charm.
In short—it was luxurious!!!
Even better than any idol or magical girl voice she knew! It was like a real boy’s, fulfilling all her fantasies about an androgynous girl.
She could even imagine herself pulling these two “sister flowers” with maxed-out cuteness onto the stage to sweat it out together.
Li Chi: “…”
He was speechless; this girl wasn’t listening at all.
At that moment, Li Guang poked Li Chi’s arm and handed him her phone.
Li Chi took the phone and saw that it displayed information about Xing Yuan Cai.
Ying Guang.
An idol magical girl who debuted in Panyan City two years ago and was now at the peak of her idol career.
As for her agency, Li Chi noted that it was an enterprise of the Magic Association.
Black Dragon had told him some time ago that if his identity might be exposed, he must be careful to avoid people from the Magic Association.
Even though his Dark Fang identity was perfectly hidden now, it was still better to steer clear of Magic Association people when possible.
As for whether the other party knew his Dark Fang identity?
Li Chi wasn’t worried at all, because Black Dragon had arranged everything properly.
Unless he exposed himself voluntarily, no one could possibly trace Dark Fang’s true identity.
On the other side, Li Guang felt a bit uneasy in her heart.
Magical Girl Hai Lan had some interactions with this senior, but Li Guang hadn’t.
She was a little afraid that Xing Yuan Cai might recognize her identity from the magical aura on her, thus exposing her directly in front of her brother.
The siblings had already completed a silent exchange through their eyes.
“This is trouble; we need to figure out a way to get rid of her first!” ×2
