Chapter 31: Confession

Now that Su Yu had figured things out, he was much bolder. 

His gaze burned as he looked at the one he liked and asked bluntly, “A Shou, do you have someone you like?”

Qin Shou clearly hadn’t expected the soft and adorable little bunny to suddenly become so forward. 

He stared blankly at Su Yu. 

“Hm?”

Su Yu grinned and repeated his question. 

This time, it was Qin Shou’s turn to blush. 

Both his ears quietly turned pink as he stammered, “Y-yeah, I do.”

Su Yu, who had been in a bright mood, instantly became unhappy and asked in a chilly voice, “Who? Are they good-looking?”

Qin Shou, caught off guard, finally came to his senses and looked at Su Yu with a smile. 

“I haven’t caught them yet, so I can’t say. But—”

Su Yu perked up his ears to listen.

“They’re really nice, and especially cute.”

“Oh.” 

Su Yu responded listlessly, inwardly full of disdain. 

Nice? 

Cute?

He glanced at his own reflection in the rearview mirror.

Are they as good as me? 

As cute as me?

His beloved clearly had no taste.

As the two snuck glances at each other and silently complained in their hearts, they finally arrived at the final stop.

Qin Shou kept a calm appearance, but inside he was elated. His tone even carried a hint of pride. 

“We’re here.”

Su Yu’s eyes sparkled as he looked at the five big characters above the gate—Donald Duck Amusement Park.

All the complaints Su Yu was about to let loose vanished the moment he saw Qin Shou’s expectant gaze. 

Remembering the kind of environment Qin Shou had grown up in, he was sure he hadn’t gotten to visit amusement parks much as a child.

So Su Yu immediately put on a look of surprise and praised with feigned excitement, “When I was little, my biggest dream was to come here and play, but no one ever brought me.”

Qin Shou smiled reservedly, but his eyes were full of joy at finding someone with the same interests. 

“Really? I’ve always wanted to come here with my… good friend.”

He paused awkwardly, then continued, “Some of my happiest memories are here…”

I want to share my happiness with you.

There was no need to explain—Su Yu already knew about Qin Shou’s family situation. 

Seeing the sudden hint of loneliness on the man’s face, Su Yu took the initiative to hold his hand and smiled, “I’ve never been here either, so it’s perfect—you can show me around.”

The man across from him broke into a happy grin.

Thank goodness he didn’t start crying.

Su Yu breathed a sigh of relief—clearly, that drunken episode had left a lingering shadow.

These two, with a combined age of over fifty, charged into the amusement park hand in hand.

With a noble intention to comfort Qin Shou’s fragile heart, Su Yu followed along behind the man, who was as lively as a bird.

And then he got ruthlessly tormented.

Who could have guessed that the always serious, intimidating President Qin, who could scare kids to tears, was actually a hardcore amusement park enthusiast?

Not only that, but he only picked the most thrilling rides!

Roller coasters, flying trapeze, drop tower…

If it was available and there was a line, Su Yu went on every single ride with this giant child.

He was scared out of his wits, but still had to pretend he wasn’t afraid at all.

After a whole afternoon of wild fun, Su Yu felt like he’d been run ragged, while Qin Shou was still full of energy, even insisting on carrying the exhausted Su Yu on his back.

Unable to resist Qin Shou’s persistence, Su Yu finally climbed onto the man’s back.

Qin Shou’s shoulders were broad, and Su Yu relaxed as he lay on his back, arms wrapped around his neck, chin gently resting in the crook of the man’s neck.

The two of them were practically cheek to cheek. 

Su Yu secretly laughed to himself and even pretended to accidentally nuzzle closer.

Carrying Su Yu, Qin Shou walked steadily step by step. 

The evening sky was tinged red by the clouds, and the ambiguous light slowly spread across the world.

Su Yu leaned close to Qin Shou’s ear on purpose, his warm breath teasing the sensitive skin. 

“Where are we going now?”

Qin Shou’s ears twitched, both sweet and tormented by the sensation. 

He smacked Su Yu’s behind, slightly annoyed. 

“Taking you to ride the Ferris wheel.”

He’d heard before that if two people in love kissed at the top of a Ferris wheel, they’d be together forever.

Su Yu’s eye twitched as he stared at the massive Ferris wheel ahead, asking cautiously, “Why are we going on the Ferris wheel?”

Please don’t tell me it’s what I think, Su Yu screamed inwardly.

This is so old-fashioned! 

Where did he even get this stuff from?

Su Yu’s face was icy as he silently slapped the label “hopelessly corny” on Qin Shou.

So the two of them really did line up and get on the Ferris wheel.

Ignoring the strange looks from others, Su Yu’s feelings were a tangled mess—excitement that his beloved was about to confess, but also a bit of—

Inside the cramped cabin, the two sat facing each other. 

Su Yu stared uneasily out the window.

If you’re going to confess, just do it already!!!

Wouldn’t it be even better to follow it up with a blazing hot kiss?

Unlike Su Yu’s boldness, President Qin, though well-versed in theory, was still a bashful novice at heart.

The Ferris wheel slowly rose, and the setting sun’s rays bathed the man across from him in a fuzzy golden glow.

Qin Shou swallowed hard, his eyes fixed on Su Yu. 

He opened and closed his mouth several times before finally speaking, “A Yu, I—”

Before he could finish, Su Yu flashed a mischievous grin, pounced on him, and kissed him fiercely.

They misjudged the force, clacking their teeth together with a muffled grunt of pain, but neither was willing to let go first.

Su Yu’s voice rang out, tinged with laughter, “I like you.”

The man gave no reply, sealing Su Yu’s lips with an even fiercer kiss.

Apparently, Su Yu’s preemptive confession had riled up President Qin. 

He hugged Su Yu tightly, only letting go when Su Yu was gasping for air.

When they finally broke apart, Su Yu was panting heavily, his dark eyes shining with tears as he glared at Qin Shou.

Qin Shou reached out and wiped his lips. 

The kiss had been so intense that his lips were a little raw, a trace of red smearing his finger. 

Smiling at Su Yu, he stuck out his tongue and licked away the evidence.

Su Yu was utterly dumbfounded.

How did things escalate so quickly after just one kiss?!

He felt like he’d lost.

Qin Shou, looking a bit aggrieved, took Su Yu’s hand and placed it on his lower abdomen. 

“It’s hard.”

His palm was burning hot, and he could even feel a faint pulse.

Su Yu felt like he’d been struck by lightning!

He yanked his hand back as if shocked, completely at a loss for words. 

He bit his lip and mumbled, “We’re about to get off, just hold it in for now.”

Qin Shou’s eyes lit up, looking at him expectantly. 

“You’ll help me when we get home?”

Heh.

Su Yu sneered inwardly. 

This little demon wasted no time pushing his luck. 

Was all that shyness before just an act?

“We’ll talk after we get off.”

Qin Shou pressed down on his “good brother,” straightened his clothes, and followed Su Yu out looking perfectly dignified.

No sign at all that he’d been begging for attention just a moment ago.

Su Yu got off the Ferris wheel and immediately sped up, practically flying forward.

A mage in heat is terrifying. 

He clenched his fist awkwardly, still feeling the lingering heat and hardness in his palm.

Su Yu silently warned himself—this is all happening way too fast, he really couldn’t keep up. 

At this rate, something might happen tomorrow.

No, he had to hold himself back.

He gave himself a pep talk and hurried toward the parking lot.

President Qin followed unhurriedly behind, not making a sound to disturb Su Yu, who was marching ahead. 

After all, being too impatient might scare his beloved, and he did feel a little embarrassed.

Su Yu dove into the back seat, fidgeting as he waited for Qin Shou to catch up.

While Su Yu’s thoughts ran wild, Qin Shou opened the back door.

Crap, is he going to force himself on me?!

Qin Shou couldn’t help laughing at Su Yu’s stunned expression. 

He reached out and poked Su Yu’s chubby cheek. 

“What are you thinking about?”

Su Yu reflexively glanced down at Qin Shou’s lower half.

Following his gaze, Qin Shou instantly looked awkward. 

He rubbed his nose and secretly reflected—was he really that much of a beast?

Su Yu watched as Qin Shou closed the door and sat down right next to him, swallowing nervously without saying a word.

Instead, Qin Shou leaned in with a smile, his handsome face drawing close. 

“What are you so nervous about?”

“Gulp.”

Su Yu swallowed again, the sound echoing in the small space. 

His face turned bright red.

“Pfft~”

“What are you laughing at?” 

Su Yu snapped, embarrassed and angry, face stern and furious. “

What’s so funny?”

“It’s not funny. Don’t be mad, little cub.”

Why did it feel like he was being unreasonable?

Seeing the laughter hidden in the man’s eyes, Su Yu got even angrier.

He looked like a puffed-up pufferfish.

Qin Shou ruffled the youth’s hair and became serious. 

“You don’t need to be afraid. I’ll wait until you’re ready.”

Su Yu puffed his cheeks and looked down at the floor. 

“I’m not… not unwilling, it’s just, well, it’s all a bit too fast.”

He let out a quiet breath after saying it.

Still nervous!

“I understand.” 

Qin Shou leaned in and gently kissed Su Yu’s forehead.

The boy’s face was still flushed, eyes lowered, his rosy lips pouting slightly.

Qin Shou smiled and pecked his lips again.

Su Yu was dying to get his own back, but his face was still burning, his black eyes glossy and moist.

Cough, he was just way too tempting.
