Chiye glanced at Serinveia beside her, still unclear why the previous student council president had abruptly resigned.
The one who took over was this Silver Dragon Clan member standing next to her.
Serinveia stood quietly at the restaurant’s entrance, her azure eyes scanning the surroundings with a calm yet piercing gaze.
Watching Serinveia survey the place like a lion inspecting its territory, Chiye felt a wave of helplessness.
Her president was perfect in every way—beautiful, powerful—but painfully aloof.
Though the semester had just begun, the student council had been working for two days. Today, with reports of a demon infiltrating the academy, they were tasked with verifying everyone’s identities.
Yet Serinveia hadn’t said a word to her, making Chiye feel she was hard to get along with and sparking worry about her future in the student council.
Serinveia waved at Chiye, signaling her to start checking identities in the restaurant. Once this was done, their daytime tasks would be complete.
Serinveia hadn’t wanted to be student council president. If she hadn’t learned her sister Yiserin was at Saint Roland Magic Academy, she wouldn’t have come here.
Why would she leave the prestigious Silver Dragon Clan academy for a human institution like Saint Roland?
When she inquired about enrolling, the dean of Saint Roland had looked at her with an amused expression, saying she could join if she took on the role of student council president. To find her sister, Serinveia had no choice but to agree.
Ian observed the newcomers, muttering to himself, Is Yiserin afraid of these two? It can’t be Chiye—she’s her roommate. They see each other daily. If Chiye scared her, how could they live together?
Then it must be the one beside Chiye.
Ian studied Serinveia closely. When he saw the silver-scaled dragon tail behind her, a theory formed. Could she be from the Silver Dragon Clan?
If Ian’s memory served, this was Serinveia, the Silver Dragon Clan’s current princess and the only woman in the novel who could rival Ethelrina. Her strength far surpassed the other heroines.
Her abilities were unlike those of typical Silver Dragons—all her skills were space-related.
Even Ethelrina, powerful as she was, only had one space-related skill, and it came with heavy limitations. Without her human bloodline, Ethelrina likely couldn’t match Serinveia.
What shocked Ian most was that, despite her strength and beauty, Serinveia wasn’t claimed by Ethelrina’s “fishpond,” unlike the other heroines.
By the novel’s end, Ian couldn’t recall Serinveia ending up with anyone—she seemed destined for solitude.
But that wasn’t his main concern. What puzzled him was why a character meant to appear in the story’s later stages was here now.
And at Saint Roland Magic Academy, a place she never visited in the original novel?
Could this be another butterfly effect from my transmigration? Ian felt numb. He’d lost count of how many deviations from the novel had occurred today.
As Ian pondered, Chiye, prompted by Serinveia, began speaking.
“Good afternoon, everyone. We’re from the student council. I’m sure you’ve heard the news.”
“If you haven’t, no worries—I’ll explain.”
“This morning, the academy received reports of a possible demon infiltrating our campus. We’re here to verify everyone’s identities to root them out.”
“Please cooperate with our work.”
Though Chiye knew everyone in the restaurant—she’d brought them here herself—she recited the standard identity-check spiel.
Her gaze swept over the room, taking in Flora, Ian, and Sephiroth beside him.
“Huh, we’re missing someone?” Chiye remarked, noting only three people present.
Hearing this, Serinveia frowned, speaking her first words to Chiye in two days. “Missing someone? How do you know?”
“Because I brought them here. Maybe Yiserin got tired and went back to the dorm to rest.”
At the mention of Yiserin’s name, Serinveia’s blue eyes narrowed, a hint of joy flickering across her face. “You said the missing person’s name is Yiserin?”
“Yeah, I brought her here to eat. I had to leave for a bit, and now she’s gone. Probably back to the dorm.”
Serinveia closed her eyes, sensing the air around her. A blue glow enveloped her briefly, and a faint smile curved her lips.
Ian recognized her action—she was using her first skill.
Looking toward the bathroom, Serinveia said coolly, “I suppose she might have gone back to the dorm.”
“You check the others’ identities first. Tonight, we’ll inspect the dorms together.”
Chiye groaned inwardly. Dorm checks tonight? Do they have to work me this hard?
But she only complained in her head. Student council overtime paid well, and as long as the money was good, she was fine with it.
Chiye approached Ian and Sephiroth, pulling a device from her bag. It was an identity verification tool—place a thumb on it, and it confirmed if you were a Saint Roland student.
She started with Ian, who complied. The device showed everything was normal.
Chiye then turned to Sephiroth.
As she was about to ask her to place her thumb, she noticed Sephiroth’s gaze wasn’t on her but fixed on Serinveia.
The moment Serinveia entered, Sephiroth had recognized her as a Silver Dragon.
The Silver Dragon Clan was her sworn enemy—the ones who killed the Demon Dragon King.
If not for them, Sephiroth wouldn’t be undercover at Saint Roland, risking everything to reclaim the Demon Dragon Pillar.
Seeing Serinveia ignited her suppressed rage.
But a year of undercover work had honed her restraint. She couldn’t afford to slip up—exposure meant death.
After Sephiroth completed her fingerprint scan, Chiye moved to Flora.
Like Sephiroth, Flora was staring at Serinveia, but her focus was on the silver-scaled dragon tail.
She felt a strange familiarity, as if she’d seen those scales somewhere before.
