On the third floor of the Administration Building, there was a terrace that overlooked the entire prison.
Lafeier sat alone on the wooden bench in the center of the terrace, watching the Hybrids file out in orderly rows before lining up neatly into several squads.
“The show is about to begin,” he said, standing up to enjoy this rare moment of tranquility. “Let’s see what happens when the Riot Index hits 100.”
On the floating panel before him, the prison’s Riot Index was currently displaying 99.
Tonight, it would break 100.
“They cut down trees for weapons, raise their poles as banners, and the world gathers like clouds in response…”
“All it takes is a single spark of unrest to set the entire field ablaze.”
“A Transmigrator really has to learn their history well!”
…
The prisoners assembled as usual, but unlike before, today’s gathering carried a deathly oppression.
Estina looked toward the Administration Building and murmured, “Why isn’t Lord Lafeier here yet…”
What she didn’t know was that although these prisoners appeared quiet, their agitation and anger had already reached a tipping point.
The slightest disturbance would turn everything upside down.
The oil lamps hanging high on the walls emitted a faint light, not enough to illuminate the thousand-plus people in the Exercise Yard, and the deeper areas grew darker.
The violent factors flickering in the darkness, combined with the Blood Race’s natural dependence on lightless environments, became increasingly frantic.
Holding a nighttime assembly was hardly a good habit, but…
“Since Lord Lafeier has said so, it’s enough to follow and execute.”
“Follow and execute, follow and execute…”
Estina repeated silently to herself.
Just as she was about to gather the guards to assign tasks, a cold silver light cast fragmented shadows under the moonlight’s trajectory.
A young girl stood atop the oil lamp, on the high wall of the Exercise Yard.
Her silver-white hair drifted with the howling cold wind from above, and her ill-fitting coat, backlit by the moonlight, looked like a massive net devouring the moon’s surface.
Her strikingly prominent horn and red pupils revealed her identity as a Hybrid, while the silver dagger gripped tightly in her hand left everyone deeply puzzled.
The black patterns covering every inch of her small body added a overwhelming killing intent, but only one person recognized her identity:
—”Kelisidina!”
Alpha roared, and the thick, stinking smell spread again.
“Die! I want you dead!”
In the moment when everyone was caught off guard, Alpha lunged toward the high wall.
Even with her shackles, her brute strength was enough to tear through the crowd, scattering them in all directions!
“Roar—!”
The shockwave, like a tangible ripple, split a gap in the air. The dark gas sticking to it steamed with a foul stench, making everyone frown.
Facing this sudden situation, Estina quickly steadied herself. “Activate the emergency plan, restrain that Half-Orc!”
The guards snapped out of their shock and drew the silver-plated lassos from their belts, surrounding Alpha from all directions.
But before they could get into position, a scream that echoed throughout the entire prison spread through the Exercise Yard, carrying a thick smell of blood.
Estina froze and turned around:
Another Hybrid—she remembered her as one of the few literate Half-Demons in the prison, Safitiya—was standing on the high platform where the guards usually gave their disciplinary speeches.
A Half-Demon’s head, with wide, furious eyes filled with terror, was clutched in Safitiya’s hand.
And that shriek was the Half-Demon’s final farewell.
“My suffering brothers and sisters!” the girl shouted loudly.
“Let those Cell Leaders who oppress us, those running dogs of the prison, pay the price!”
“Let the entire prison pay for the suffering we’ve endured!”
“Kill the dogs of the guards, then slaughter all the guards!”
“The rise of us Hybrids begins today!”
In an instant, the crowd was inflamed with fury.
“She, she’s the Cell Leader of the first floor, kill her!”
“And her accomplices, don’t let a single one escape!”
“Kill!”
The overlapping shouts and sounds of fighting evolved into a storm of violence, bloodshed, and chaos in the darkness.
The metal shackles on the prisoners’ feet clattered constantly, the clanging sounds filling this disorderly crimson symphony—nothing could stop them now.
Seeing the situation was dire, Estina quickly called out, “Retreat, retreat!”
This was no longer a situation she could control.
“Lord Lafeier, where are you…”
The riot quickly turned into a massacre.
The prisoners, the Hybrids—their long-suppressed anger and humiliation erupted in a storm of blood that night.
The Cell Leaders and their cronies, who usually threw their weight around, were now torn apart by sharp claws, their wails lingering endlessly.
Those personal grudges unrelated to oppression also found their moment to explode.
Killing rolled in the darkness, violence erupted in the darkness.
No one could escape unscathed, no one could find a safe haven.
The bloody vortex mercilessly swept up everyone’s fate, yet this was far fairer than the suffering itself.
At the border between this wasteland and oasis, Tulip Prison bloomed its first flower.
A red tulip, full of blood and slaughter, yet as addictive as a drug, intoxicating and mesmerizing.
…
On the other side, facing Alpha, whose body reeked and nearly burst her shackles, Tina’s face twisted with unprecedented ferocity.
Alpha’s appearance disgusted her, Alpha’s smell nauseated her.
That woman—there was not a single part of her that Tina didn’t detest.
“Tina, go ahead, personally finish off those who have hurt you.”
“Let them repay their sins with their lives.”
—Lord Lafeier’s words pulsed in her mind.
Things had come to this; there was no need to hesitate any longer.
The shackles on her feet had been personally unlocked by Lafeier. She leaped, following the trail of moonlight, and pounced in front of Alpha.
Bam—!
The tremendous impact pushed Alpha back a few steps, but she quickly steadied herself and snarled, “You bastard, you still dare to come back!”
“Even if I’m missing one hand, I can still grind you into dust!”
“And you’re putting on airs with a fake knife?” Alpha laughed wildly. “A waste is a waste, trying to scare me with that junk…”
“Just—” Alpha dropped her front limbs to the ground, ignoring the twisted limbs, transforming into a beastly stance, and roared, “Die!”
Then, a reddish-brown shadow accompanied by a gust of wind rushed straight at Tina’s face.
The killing desire hidden in the bloodlines of both sides pulsed wildly in an extreme form of violence and arrogance.
One was a Half-Orc known for absolute brute strength, the other was a frail girl who had just awakened her bloodline talent.
In the crowd, Safitiya caught the duel between the two, which radiated a vast aura of fate, and a hint of unease surged in her heart.
On the distant terrace, Lafeier pinched his chin, a smug smirk curling at the corner of his mouth.
Heh heh heh~
“Half-Orc? Go talk to my silver dagger!”
