“Good baby, tell Mommy, do you want this?”
Luozhilan held Limuqun in her arms. Perhaps because of her voluptuous and tall figure, the upright Limuqun looked like an infant in her embrace.
In that soft, tender warmth, the dazed Limuqun instantly drooled the moment he saw the pink mist in Luozhilan’s hand.
“I want it, I want it. Mommy, give it to Qun’er, Mommy, give it to Qun’er.”
He hummed softly, rubbing his head against Luozhilan’s delicate body, truly like a baby spoiled by his mother.
“All right, all right,” Luozhilan gently placed the pink mist before Limuqun, letting him take a slight inhale. Just as a look of immersion appeared on his face, she immediately pulled it away.
“But the good baby hasn’t been good lately, making Mommy a little angry.”
“No, Qun’er is very good, Qun’er is the best.”
Seeing his beloved thing taken away, a trace of grievance appeared on the dazed Limuqun’s face as he looked at Luozhilan pleadingly.
“Is that so?” Luozhilan softly stroked Limuqun’s cheek. “But the good baby has been hanging out with some bad babies, Mommy isn’t happy about that.”
“Bad, bad babies?” The dazed Limuqun showed a hint of confusion.
“That’s right. Luo Dan’er, she’s also Mommy’s daughter, but recently she’s become disobedient, turned into a bad baby, and Mommy doesn’t like her anymore.”
Luozhilan leaned down, her red, luscious lips whispering softly beside Limuqun’s ear.
“Qun’er is a good baby. If you hang out with her, do you want to become a bad baby too?”
“I…I haven’t been with her.” Like a child caught doing something wrong, Limuqun stammered tremblingly.
“Good babies still lie? Then Mommy won’t like good babies anymore.” Luozhilan narrowed her phoenix-like eyes, feigning to push Limuqun away.
“Ugh, ugh, Mommy, Qun’er was wrong, Qun’er was wrong. Qun’er shouldn’t talk to bad babies.”
Limuqun hurriedly hugged Luozhilan tightly, burying his head in her overly full and voluptuous Dao fruit, his expression fearful as he kept apologizing.
“Hmph, Mommy doesn’t believe you anymore. Qun’er has become a bad baby too.”
Luozhilan snorted coldly, pushing Limuqun away again.
Now Limuqun was utterly desperate, but still too dazed to think of a solution, he just burst into tears.
“Mommy, Qun’er was wrong, Qun’er was wrong.”
Seeing her plan half accomplished, Luozhilan smiled faintly and pulled Limuqun back into her arms.
“Mommy wants to believe Qun’er is a good baby, but who told you to deceive Mommy?”
“Unless, unless Qun’er agrees to Mommy’s three conditions.”
“Conditions.” Limuqun stopped crying, a trace of delight appearing on his blank face. “Qun’er agrees, whatever Mommy asks, Qun’er agrees.”
“Hehe.” Luozhilan smiled lightly, full of pride, yet kindly reminded him, “Qun’er should listen to Mommy’s conditions first.”
“Okay!”
“First, if Qun’er wants to be a good baby, you must stay away from everyone except Mommy. They are all bad people, especially that bad baby Luo Dan’er. Mommy wants you to completely ignore her existence.”
“Stay away from everyone, they’re all bad people, ignore Luo Dan’er.”
A flicker of hesitation passed through Limuqun’s eyes, but Luozhilan pressed the advantage, pulling out a bundle of pink mist and placing it before him.
“Qun’er agreed? Then this is your reward.”
The hesitation instantly vanished when he saw the pink mist, replaced by continuous nodding.
“Qun’er understands, Qun’er understands, Qun’er will listen to Mommy.”
“All right, all right, Qun’er is a good baby.” Luozhilan proudly released the Vitality Qi from her hand, watching Limuqun greedily inhale it, her lips curling uncontrollably.
“The second condition is…”
She wanted to say more, but the Heavenly Demon Heart-Devouring Great Pill in Limuqun’s mind flashed with purple light, as if issuing a warning.
Strange, the Heavenly Demon Heart-Devouring Great Pill was signaling that today’s hypnosis had reached its limit.
A Foundation Establishment stage cultivator really could possess such a powerful soul?
Doubt flickered in her beautiful eyes, but she silently pushed Limuqun out beyond the thin veil.
Well, no big deal. She’d just continue tomorrow.
Settling herself, she snapped her fingers.
“Ta.”
Limuqun instantly woke up, looking around the Daoist Temple, dizzy and disoriented.
“Disciple, what exactly went wrong in your recent cultivation? Why do you keep experiencing surges of qi and blood and constant dizziness?”
I passed out again? Limuqun supported his aching head, recalling that his memories truly were as Luozhilan said.
Luozhilan continued, “From tomorrow, you’ll come to the Daoist Temple at Mao hour every day to cultivate. I’ll watch over you and help you correct your errors.”
He quickly cupped his hands, saying, “Disciple is foolish, troubling Master to care so much.”
“No trouble at all.” Luozhilan waved her hand generously.
With that, feeling muddled and mentally foggy, Limuqun stepped out of the Daoist Temple.
Luozhilan watched his retreating figure, a smile lingering on her lips beneath the veil.
“Li Dao-young, Li Dao-young?”
“How’s the situation? Any new evidence found?”
As Limuqun exited the Daoist Temple, Luo Dan’er, who had been waiting for some time, immediately clung to him.
Her beautiful eyes flickered with emotion, staring at this “new ally” eagerly, hoping he could find conclusive evidence to expose her mother’s treachery and snuff it out before it could grow.
But Limuqun, who not long ago had wept alongside her in shared misery, suddenly turned his head away as if not hearing her voice and walked straight ahead, expression blank.
“Hey, hey, hey, Limuqun, why the sour face? Talk to me.”
Luo Dan’er trailed closely behind, clearly displeased and questioning, but he seemed to completely ignore her, walking on as if she weren’t there.
Now Luo Dan’er was truly desperate. She tugged on Limuqun’s arm forcefully.
“Hey, I’m talking to you, can you hear me?”
She pouted, looking extremely annoyed, lips rosy and puckered in anger.
But Limuqun, caught by her, looked confused and fearful, vigilantly scanning the air around him as he said in surprise, “Who? Who is there?”
“Not sure which Daoist wants to play tricks on me?”
“Huh?”
Luo Dan’er’s delicate mouth opened wide, nearly able to swallow half an egg in shock.
“Are you crazy, Limuqun? Don’t play dumb with me!”
She stood on tiptoe, lightly patting Limuqun’s cheek, baffled by whatever he was up to.
But those gentle taps suddenly set Limuqun off like a spark, and he jumped far away in a flash, instantly taking a fully armed defensive stance.
“Senior, your footwork is truly profound. At such close range, Qun’er did not detect you.”
“But do you know there are Golden Core Upper Cultivators stationed on Congealed Fat Peak? Are you confident you can evade her divine sense?”
He’s gone mad, utterly mad.
Luo Dan’er was dumbfounded, speechless. At the same time, an inexplicable fear coursed through her heart.
Her throat moved nervously as she said with some trepidation, “Limuqun, please don’t scare me.”
“Don’t joke with me. It was just a little trouble I gave you before, can’t I apologize?”
“Please, stop this. I’m scared.”
But Limuqun still held his sword, wary and guarded, stepping back slowly while muttering, “If senior refuses to show themselves, I will retreat five more steps. If senior no longer attacks, I shall consider this matter as never having happened.”
After five steps back, Limuqun relaxed and said, “Thank you, senior,” then took to the wind and left.
Only Luo Dan’er remained standing there, lost and trembling.
A great, nameless fear crawled up her spine and spread through her body, making her shiver uncontrollably.
“Limuqun, what on earth is wrong with you?”
