Everyone was feeling very confused.
Neither the onlooking students, the members of the Disciplinary Committee, nor even Kaixin Min herself understood why.
Probably only the Executive Officers knew why they decided to let Kaixin Min and Li Zuhao off the hook.
“Cough cough~”
Having escaped the classroom and reached a deserted corner in the hallway, one of the female Executive Officers suddenly started coughing violently, clutching her chest, clearly in great discomfort as she dropped to one knee, gasping for breath.
“Chairwoman?”
“What’s going on?”
“Are you feeling unwell?”
The members of the Disciplinary Committee immediately gathered around her with concern.
They finally understood why the Executive Officer had temporarily retreated—was it just a stomachache?
It seemed the Leader’s body was unwell; it wasn’t that they had truly let that rambling, disgraced disciple and delinquent girl off so easily.
“I’m fine. Just need a moment to rest.”
The female Executive Officer didn’t explain the reason and pretended it was a sudden illness.
Hmph, things were definitely not that simple.
In fact, she had suffered internal injuries from Kaixin Min’s push!
What looked like a simple shoving match between girls—the most common way women settle disputes—actually caused serious damage.
Blood.
Kaixin Min’s double dragon strike was powerful; with one move, she had knocked the Executive Officer into a brief loss of consciousness.
She was utterly convinced on the spot.
Having personally felt Kaixin Min’s strange strength, she knew if the fight continued, she’d likely be battered beyond recognition.
She and Kaixin Min already had a long-standing grudge, constantly clashing with no love lost between them.
But they were civilized people with reputations to uphold; the fighting had never escalated beyond shouting matches.
Yet once it turned physical, the difference was clear.
Kaixin Min was the undisputed leader of the delinquent girls, regularly practicing boxing at the gym, and highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
The Executive Officer had simply underestimated her fighting ability…
Moreover, she wasn’t very eager to work for President Lei.
That man’s distracted and unreliable—besides the sisters in the Disciplinary Committee, he was running around with dozens of women.
Let him handle his own mess; the Disciplinary Committee sisters refused to get involved.
“Let’s go back. Lately, we’re just going to give up. This matter will definitely draw the school’s attention, and we don’t want to be dragged down by that scumbag. I don’t want to invite trouble on myself.”
The Executive Officer’s expression turned cold as she told her subordinates.
Once back, she kicked out all the female members on the list from the Disciplinary Committee.
Those women who abandoned their ex-boyfriends and willingly sank into degradation had no right to remain in the Disciplinary Committee.
No one said a word—turns out they all had dirt on them!
Back in Class 1-9, classes resumed as normal.
The teachers seemed oblivious to everything, or perhaps fully aware but uninterested in such gossip.
“What are you doing? Why are you sticking your nose in? I’ve already helped you draw their fire away. Why do you have to get involved yourself?”
As soon as class ended, Li Zuhao started lecturing Kaixin Min, who sat beside him, in a rather nagging tone.
“I just can’t stand that guy. If he tries to mess with me, why should I tolerate him? Can’t I get revenge?”
Kaixin Min snapped, slightly annoyed.
“That’s not a wise choice. You’ve already escaped. Why go back into the fray?”
Li Zuhao advised earnestly.
“None of your business! You’re the real dead dog—being dragged around by them at will. If you get caught by the Student Council, do you think you’ll come out unscathed? With your brain, how could you possibly fight them? Are you just looking to die?”
Kaixin Min crossed her arms and spoke matter-of-factly.
But the moment she said that, she realized something was wrong.
Because Li Zuhao really was looking for death; he’d recently survived a suicide attempt.
“You’re not seriously looking for death, are you? You’re not trying to provoke the Student Council just to have them do your dirty work, right?”
Her tone softened considerably at this thought.
“Uh? You mean the last incident? I already said it was an accident, a misunderstanding,” Li Zuhao explained.
“Really?”
Kaixin Min squinted, full of doubt.
She always felt a Death Aura clung to the reformed Li Zuhao.
Not the old Li Zuhao, but this gloomy one—slow in movement, hesitant in speech, not fighting back or cursing.
Wasn’t that obviously someone who didn’t want to live?
“Time’s up. I’m heading to work.”
Li Zuhao glanced at the time and put on his Service Armband with practiced ease—time for lunch duty.
“You’re working for them even though the Student Council is against you?”
Kaixin Min questioned.
“This is a punishment I accepted voluntarily; it has nothing to do with the Student Council’s decisions,” Li Zuhao said firmly, walking past her.
Watching his back, Kaixin Min felt speechless, still convinced he was courting death.
Li Zuhao then loitered around the perimeter of the Sword Club’s dojo, pretending to sweep the floor.
The Sword Club girls immediately came to monitor him as usual, though their expressions were somewhat complicated.
Because even the Sword Club girls knew about the information Li Zuhao had been spreading on Jihuang Academy’s Friends Wall recently.
One female member from their club had even been implicated and quit.
President Lei’s influence reached every corner of Jihuang Academy.
Not just the High School Division, but even the Middle and University Divisions had his girlfriends—ranging from innocent middle school girls to mature university seniors.
This had sparked the envy of many male students and public outrage.
The campus Friends Wall was ablaze with furious posts, applying pressure on Jihuang Academy’s leadership.
Such insubordination hadn’t happened for a long time.
But that didn’t mean no one resented it; wherever inequality exists, resistance follows.
Everyone was just waiting for a leader to emerge.
Now that the leader had appeared, everyone rallied to charge forward—everywhere were posts attacking the Student Council and President Lei.
More and more unfair scandals about the Student Council were being anonymously exposed by students in secret.
The real reckoning was about to begin!
As for why no one wanted to be the leader?
“Where is he?”
“Catch him!”
“Leak! Leak!”
Li Zuhao was sweeping the floor when suddenly a group of female students sprang up from around him, surrounding him in a corner.
“Who are you? What do you want?”
Li Zuhao’s eyes sharpened for a moment, then quickly softened, his aura turning weak.
He deliberately walked around openly like this to lure out his enemies.
“Why did you post those false messages online?”
If he was in a crowded place, these predatory women wouldn’t dare approach.
“Speak! Are you jealous of President Lei?”
But here, in this remote place, it was the perfect environment for them.
“Give us an explanation!”
Li Zuhao immediately recognized these girls’ identities.
“Not a chance you leave until you’re clear with us today!”
They were probably President Lei’s brainless fangirls, coming on their own to demand answers.
