I almost got fooled by her previously quiet and polite demeanor.
But it was the same as always—whenever she got the chance, her mind was full of thoughts about taking advantage of him.
Not changed at all.
Bo Jiangxin raised an eyebrow slightly.
The parking spot wasn’t far from the Community Gate, so they arrived quickly.
Though her husband’s irresistible “public dog waist” hadn’t been hugged enough yet, it was time to get off the vehicle.
Although reluctant, Xiang Di cheerfully got out of the car—after all, she couldn’t just hang around in his car all day.
The parking spot was still a bit far from the Bakery, and Xiang Di didn’t want the atmosphere to go cold during the walk, so she tried to find something to say: “Your electric scooter’s seat is actually pretty soft, huh? Sitting on it’s comfortable.”
Bo Jiangxin gave a faint acknowledgment.
Xiang Di continued, “I didn’t expect you to even know how to ride an electric scooter, impressive.”
Suddenly, Bo Jiangxin asked, “Do you know how to use chopsticks?”
Xiang Di was momentarily stunned. “Uh, of course.”
“Didn’t expect that.” Bo Jiangxin repeated her words calmly, “Impressive.”
Xiang Di took a few seconds to realize that Bo Jiangxin was mocking her for being so surprised.
She immediately looked up at him, only to see his expressionless profile.
He always wore that aloof face when teasing someone—she had hoped to see him smile for once.
He didn’t talk much, and she just wanted to randomly find a topic to praise him, but he didn’t appreciate it.
Xiang Di lowered her head, a little speechless, pouting her lips.
But oh well, who could blame her for liking him? No point in quarreling.
Finally, she fell silent, watching Bo Jiangxin walk ahead.
Only then did he glance at her, noticing her slightly puffed cheeks.
He nonchalantly smirked.
It was about time she realized how fake her compliments had been—so hard to respond to that it would have been better not to say them at all.
They entered the Bakery just in time; the Cheese Puffs had just come out of the oven, and the whole store was filled with the rich aroma of cheese.
Once inside, all her previous worries disappeared, as if she had returned to a happy home.
Xiang Di immediately bought two Cheese Puffs for herself, then enthusiastically recommended some other desserts she liked to Bo Jiangxin.
“This one, this one—the Chocolate Lava Tart is especially delicious. Also, the Mango Snow Mochi; the cream isn’t greasy at all and tastes great. Oh, and the Sea Salt Cheese Molten Mochi is absolutely amazing…”
She went on like this, seeming to like every dessert in sight.
After her introduction, she asked Bo Jiangxin, “Which one do you want to try?”
To him, all desserts probably tasted the same, so Bo Jiangxin said, “Any.”
“Then what kind do you like? For example, do you like ones with fruit? Tell me your favorite fruit so I can recommend precisely.”
Though he couldn’t hear her inner thoughts, Bo Jiangxin could roughly infer her preferences from her expression.
The desserts she focused on were obviously her favorites.
She had said before that she loved to share what she liked with the world—whenever she mentioned food she liked, her eyes lit up and she’d even smack her lips as if she had already tasted it.
Bo Jiangxin replied, “Then chocolate, mango, and cheese.”
Sure enough, the next moment, Xiang Di excitedly gave him a thumbs up: “No wonder you’re First in the Grade—such great taste!”
Rather than saying he had good taste, it was more accurate to say she had good taste.
Bo Jiangxin just watched her pick lots of desserts she liked.
When they went to pay, the total shot up to three digits, and the plate was full of sweets—it looked like she was stocking up the Bakery for a shop.
“I remembered to bring my phone today,” Xiang Di said.
Bo Jiangxin acknowledged, “Then you pay.”
Xiang Di said, “You can try them all later, see which one you like best, and next time I’ll treat you.”
Bo Jiangxin: “Okay.”
With a grand gesture, she pulled out her phone and told the clerk casually, “Hello, charge it to me.”
More than a hundred yuan of desserts, yet she said it like she was swiping a Black Card.
Coincidentally, the clerk at the counter was the same one as last time.
The clerk remembered them well, so even though neither was wearing their School Uniform today, the clerk still recognized them.
Today, once again, the girl was the one paying—cheerfully at that.
The boy just accepted it without even attempting to pay.
What exactly did this girl see in him? Handsome? Handsome but stingy—that’s useless.
Earning money is the biggest priority in this world; making a living isn’t easy.
The clerk suppressed a flood of resentment but followed the golden rule of never meddling in others’ relationships to avoid frustration, then finished the checkout.
After buying their items, Bo Jiangxin was about to leave, but Xiang Di didn’t want him to go so soon.
It was rare to see him on a Weekend, and she wanted to spend more time with him.
The Bakery’s storefront was small, with only a few small tables—usually for customers in a hurry who had nowhere else to eat.
Xiang Di said, “Um, the freshly baked Cheese Puffs are best eaten quickly. Let’s sit here and eat a few… Are you in a hurry? If you are, you can eat on the way.”
Bo Jiangxin: “Not in a hurry, sit.”
Yes! Great.
Xiang Di held back her excitement and led him to a small round table.
“Try it! Freshly baked Cheese Puff, super delicious.”
She took a piece from her own share, put on gloves, and took a bite without waiting.
The first bite was so good she wanted to bang the table.
Xiang Di couldn’t help but sigh, “Isn’t this what life is for?”
She asked Bo Jiangxin, “Fresh is definitely better, right?”
He also took a bite and nodded, “Delicious.”
“I told you, nobody can resist this Cheese Puff!”
Successful recommendation, Xiang Di happily ate a few more.
At first, she was quite ladylike, breaking one Cheese Puff into several bites.
Later, feeling it wasn’t enough, she put down the half-eaten puff and grabbed a whole new one, stuffing the entire thing into her mouth.
Though biting a whole puff at once was a bit big, she loved that feeling of the cream instantly squirting out and filling her mouth.
Her mouth was instantly filled with sweet and salty cream.
Xiang Di closed her eyes in pure enjoyment.
Seeing her cheeks puffed and her eyes squinting in delight, Bo Jiangxin also took a bite, trying to experience that “so good it makes you squint” feeling.
Though it was definitely better than the Cheese Puff he ate at home before, whether it was because this one was freshest or because the girl in front of him was enjoying it so much, it affected his taste buds.
After finishing, Xiang Di suddenly remembered Bo Jiangxin was sitting right in front of her.
Oops, she had gotten carried away and forgot to maintain her ladylike small bites image.
She opened her mouth to explain that she normally didn’t eat like this.
But before she could swallow the cream, a bit of the white sticky liquid dripped out from the corner of her mouth.
The melting cream escaped, and Xiang Di hurriedly closed her mouth, instinctively reached for a tissue, but today she was wearing a skirt without pockets, so she didn’t have any tissues with her.
And she hadn’t asked the clerk for any either.
Wiping with a gloved hand would only make it worse.
Not wanting to appear flustered in front of Bo Jiangxin, she pretended nothing had happened, covering her mouth with her hand, then carefully extended her tongue a little to lick the cream off her lip.
She thought Bo Jiangxin didn’t notice, but as soon as she put her hand down, Bo Jiangxin raised an eyebrow and directly reminded her, “You didn’t lick the other side clean.”
Xiang Di gasped and instinctively stuck out her tongue like a little probe, licking left then right.
The tongue, an important organ, was always moist with saliva.
The Bakery’s lighting was carefully chosen to make the food look delicious, with warm tones casting a crystal shine on her little tongue as it licked her rosy lips.
Bo Jiangxin’s usually calm expression suddenly tightened, and he quickly turned his head away.
Xiang Di thought he frowned and looked away because her licking grossed him out, so she hurriedly explained, “Actually, I wanted to wipe it, but I don’t have any tissues on me…”
“I usually don’t eat like this. I just haven’t had Cheese Puffs for a while, so I ate too fast. I was supposed to have some at school last time, but Wang Sicheng ruined it…”
At that moment, Xiang Di suddenly remembered Wang Sicheng.
She had been so focused on buying for Bo Jiangxin that she forgot she still needed to get one for Wang Sicheng.
Fortunately, there was still time and Cheese Puffs hadn’t sold out yet.
She quickly went back to buy one for Wang Sicheng, telling Bo Jiangxin to wait and giving herself a moment to calm down.
“You scatterbrain, you forget everything when food’s involved—no wonder Xiang Sheng calls you a pig!”
Xiang Di scolded herself but obediently got in line again.
Bo Jiangxin sat at the table, watching her back as she queued.
From her flustered explanation earlier, he figured she wasn’t trying to seduce him deliberately.
If it wasn’t deliberate, then it was even more infuriating.
He withdrew his gaze and it accidentally landed on her half-eaten Cheese Puff.
It should still have her saliva on it.
