Su Nian froze instantly.
That familiar voice and only that girl would call her “Nian-bao”…
It was Amy!
Su Nian turned around and sure enough, she saw Amy and Lise together, clearly out to attend tonight’s celebration as well.
When Amy and Lise saw the tall figure standing beside Su Nian, a hint of a smile appeared on both of their faces.
Like a happy fawn, Amy hopped in front of Su Nian in a few steps and grabbed Su Nina’s arm, shaking it affectionately.
She winked and said in a teasing tone, “Oh my, Nian-bao, so you came to the celebration with… Mo Yuan Sir?”
“I invited you before… but you refused. I thought you just didn’t like festivals.” Amy spoke with pointed intent, laughing as she poked fun at her.
Seeing people she knew, Su Nian’s mind went blank for a moment.
Amy’s affectionate movements made her body stiffen.
She subconsciously wanted to pull away, fearing the other girl would notice the strangeness beneath her coat or spot some flaw.
“I… We…” Su Nian opened her mouth, not knowing how to explain.
Right now, she felt like she had been caught red-handed doing something bad.
It was hard to put into words…
“We just… happened to run into each other.” Su Nian finally squeezed out a lie that even she didn’t believe, her voice as quiet as a mosquito’s hum.
“Happened to?” Amy immediately cried out in exaggeration, her large eyes practically screaming ‘who are you kidding?’.
“Happened to? Then how do I explain your outfits? If this isn’t a couple look, then what is?”
Lise didn’t speak, but her smiling eyes said everything.
‘A couple… look?’
Su Nian looked at the Horned Demon beside her.
He was wearing a long black coat.
Although it was a men’s style and slightly different from her own, many of the elements and details were the same.
So… it really was a matching outfit!
At this moment, Su Nian wished she could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.
Not only was she afraid of her current predicament being discovered, but she was also being misunderstood—that she and this Horned Demon Bastard were a pair.
Just as she was so anxious she was about to cry, a large, warm hand suddenly wrapped around her waist.
“Ngh!”
Su Nian’s body went rigid as she fell into a broad and solid embrace.
‘He actually… he actually did something so intimate in front of Amy and Lise!’
Chu Tian lowered his head, leaning close to her ear.
In a low, ambiguous voice that only the two of them could hear, he said, “Stand steady, my little rabbit.”
His breath was warm, carrying a faint aroma of red wine as it brushed against Su Nian’s sensitive ear, making her shudder uncontrollably.
However, in the eyes of Amy and Lise, this was nothing more than an intimate whisper between lovers.
Chu Tian looked up at the two girls, a perfectly elegant smile playing on his lips.
“I asked her out. Tonight’s celebration is very lively and beautiful. I wanted to see it with her.”
This simple sentence completely confirmed Amy and Lise’s suspicions.
“Wow—!” Amy let out a knowing cheer, her gaze toward Su Nian filled with ‘I knew it’ pride.
Lise also smiled and shook her head, patting Su Nian on the shoulder.
She said softly, “Alright, alright, Miss Su Nian, we understand.”
“As an idol, even if you’re in a relationship, it has to stay under the radar. We won’t disturb you two any longer,” Lise said sensibly.
“We’ll keep it a secret!” Amy turned back, tilted her head, and gave a wink.
‘Understand?’
‘What do you understand?!’
Su Nian screamed frantically in her heart, but she couldn’t utter a single word.
Amy and Lise’s smiling figures soon disappeared into the bustling crowd ahead.
‘It’s over.’
She was being misunderstood by her friends regarding her relationship with the Horned Demon and she couldn’t even argue back…
She couldn’t exactly say that the Horned Demon Bastard wasn’t actually her boyfriend, but her Master, could she?
That would be even more humiliating.
‘Ugh…’
***
With playful and narrow smiles, Amy and Lise’s figures quickly vanished into the crowded street ahead.
Su Nian felt like her cheeks were so hot they could practically fry an egg.
She peeked upward, glaring fiercely at the Horned Demon Bastard beside her, who looked completely innocent as if he had done nothing.
Chu Tian, however, seemed not to notice her anger.
Instead, he lowered his head and whispered into her ear with that deep, magnetic, and suggestive voice that only they could hear…
“The way you blush… is really cute.”
The warm breath brushed over Su Nian’s sensitive ear, causing a layer of fine goosebumps to instantly break out across her fair neck.
The unusual outfit beneath her coat became increasingly prominent with his teasing words.
The two of them continued to stroll aimlessly side-by-side along the brilliantly lit festival street.
Su Nian wore a furry hood to hide her features, trying her best to ignore the restless, strange sensation deep within her body.
Her gaze, however, was involuntarily drawn to the various novel and interesting stalls on both sides of the street.
Those glittering magic ornaments, the specialty snacks emitting tempting aromas, and all sorts of weird and wonderful performances made her temporarily forget the humiliation of her current lack of freedom.
Chu Tian silently observed the curiosity and joy in the girl’s sky-blue eyes—the kind of excitement that belonged to someone her age.
Deep inside him, a strange sense of satisfaction quietly arose, one that even he hadn’t noticed.
This mundane yet cozy “date” atmosphere was something he seemed to… enjoy very much.
Without realizing it, they walked up to a game stall surrounded by a large group of people.
The stall was hung with a dazzling array of prizes, and in the very center, in the most prominent position, sat a life-like plush doll.
The doll’s design was unmistakably Su Nian’s Magic Pet—the Magic Bird, Little Green!
The stall owner was a middle-aged man with a handlebar mustache.
At that moment, he was boasting loudly, “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t miss out as you walk by! This is a limited edition plush doll of the Magic Girl Su Nian’s Magic Beast, the Magic Bird Little Green!”
“It was crafted overnight by the city’s finest master craftsman. There’s only one like it! If you hit the bullseye with all ten arrows, you can take it home!”
Chu Tian glanced at Su Nian’s eyes, which had brightened instantly.
A meaningful, mischievous smirk curled on his lips.
He leaned over and suggested to Su Nian in a low voice, “How about we have a contest of marksmanship?”
“The loser has to grant the winner one request.”
The moment Su Nian saw the “Little Green Doll,” she couldn’t look away.
That plush Little Green was made so adorably.
The round body, the light green feathers, and those big, dark eyes were exactly like the real Little Green.
She wanted it so much!
Besides that, she could make the Horned Demon fulfill a request.
Based on what she knew of the Horned Demon, he probably wouldn’t break his word…
But… a marksmanship contest?
She subconsciously looked down at the thin, high heels on her feet and felt the strange sensation of skin contact beneath her coat.
She felt it would be inconvenient to make any large movements.
But…
There weren’t many chances to win against her Horned Demon Master…
She wanted to win, just this once!
