Zhu Siyao stood outside the door, looking around with a serious expression as she acted as a protector for Jiang Huai inside the room.
Jiang Huai took out a single drop of Yin-Yang Body Essence Blood from a small porcelain bottle.
The Essence Blood suspended itself in the air.
As if it possessed its own intelligence, the drop slowly floated toward the space between the woman’s eyebrows.
Immediately after, Jiang Huai pressed his right index and middle fingers together. A faint glow of Lingli flickered at his fingertips as he made a light swipe across his left wrist.
A subtle sting followed, and a strand of crimson blood began to seep from the wound.
Instead of dripping, it transformed into a slender thread of blood that rose and meandered upward, establishing a mysterious and profound connection with the drop of Essence Blood.
This time, Jiang Huai was exceptionally cautious, strictly controlling the volume and speed of his blood flow.
Since he only intended to communicate with whatever residual consciousness might remain in the skeleton rather than commanding it for battle like the last time, he figured he would not have to pay such a heavy price.
Inside the coffin, the tall and beautiful Woman in Green remained lying quietly. The imprint of the Essence Blood on her forehead glowed faintly, but there were no other signs of movement.
Jiang Huai slowly closed his eyes.
Despite his eyes being closed, he felt a sudden sense of clarity. What greeted him was not darkness, but a vast starry sky where countless stars twinkled brilliantly. The starlight fell across the space, bathing this Consciousness Space in a cold, bright glow.
A figure in green stood with her back to him, tall and lonely.
“Senior?” Jiang Huai called out tentatively.
He did not know how much of her memory remained. He hoped that the combination of this space and her remains would allow her to recover some of her sanity.
“Mhm, you are doing well.”
The figure moved slightly and slowly turned around, revealing a perfect and beautiful face. A spark of life returned to her beautiful eyes as she looked at Jiang Huai with a gratified expression and nodded.
“I have seen your performance. It is very good.”
“With you here, it seems there is still hope for the living beings of the Five Provinces. When I died in such a hurry without leaving behind an inheritance or offspring, that guilt and regret felt heavy. Now, it seems it was not in vain.”
She tilted her head slightly, looking back at the starry sky, her tone distant.
“It seems the cycle of the Heavenly Dao continues, where life and death rotate. Between Nirvanic Extinction and life, one always waxes as the other wanes. Nirvanic Extinction will not be allowed to occupy everything forever.”
Perhaps some would walk toward Nirvanic Extinction, but it would not last forever.
Seeing that this senior’s consciousness was so clear and that she could even communicate, Jiang Huai was overjoyed. He suppressed his excitement, took two steps forward, and bowed respectfully. Then, speaking quickly, he said, “Senior, it is not that I am being disrespectful, but the cost of communicating with you is quite high. I must keep this brief.”
“I…”
He was deliberating how to explain that he knew about the five Dragon marks on her chest.
The Woman in Green seemed to see right through him. A teasing smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she interrupted him directly. “Did you ‘search’ my body?”
“How can you be so rude?”
Jiang Huai was startled. He had not expected her to know even that!
He quickly and concisely explained the sequence of events — how his Cultivation was blocked, how he discovered the Five Elements within him were dim, and how he had no choice but to ask Zhu Siyao to check the remains for clues. His tone was full of apology.
To his surprise, the Woman in Green gave him a playful look and said leisurely, “It seems you do not know? The Cultivation Gongfa of a Yin-Yang Body?”
Jiang Huai’s heart leaped with joy, and he shook his head. “Please enlighten me.”
This was perfect. He could finally solve his Cultivation problem once and for all. This was the biggest obstacle on his future path.
A faint smile appeared on her beautiful face.
She pointed to her chest and explained, “We Yin-Yang Bodies can generate Yin and Yang on our own, circulating them within our Small World. However, we cannot naturally produce the Five Elements.”
“The method used by the Original Yin-Yang Physique was to find women with different constitutions for Dual Cultivation. But as his understanding of the Small World deepened, he finally created a Gongfa that a Yin-Yang Body can use to cultivate on its own.”
She walked toward Jiang Huai and looked down at him, her lips curled into a smile as if she were admiring her successor.
As she approached him, Jiang Huai found himself looking up at her, meeting her smiling eyes. She was incredibly tall.
Qin Qingyue was already considered tall, but this woman was even taller than those of the Black Dragon Clan.
Jiang Huai felt as though she could pick him up with a single hand.
“Most subsequent Yin-Yang Body successors cultivated according to this set of inheritance techniques, which spared them the trouble of searching everywhere for Dao Companions with specific constitutions for Dual Cultivation,” the Woman in Green said softly.
“I beg you to teach me, Senior,” Jiang Huai said respectfully.
“Do not be in such a hurry. I have not finished speaking.” The Woman in Green waved her hand, signaling for him to be patient.
“This Gongfa required the Dragon Race to help construct the cycle of the Five Elements. At that time, the Dragon Clan Chief followed the lead of the Yin-Yang Body. The five Dragon marks on my body came about in that way.”
Jiang Huai frowned slightly and asked, “I have marks on my body as well, but something feels wrong.”
The Woman in Green raised an eyebrow and slowly leaned down toward the somewhat flustered Jiang Huai. “Marks? Let me see. You have the five marks too?”
Jiang Huai turned his face away, feeling embarrassed. “It is not quite convenient. It is better if you do not look.”
“I only have the marks of the Red Dragon, White Dragon, and Black Dragon. However, the Red Dragon Mark is not activating within my Small World. I do not know why.”
Those marks had been placed on him by Qin Qingyue and the others with a somewhat subtle intent. If he had known this was related to his Cultivation, he never would have let them mark him like that. Especially Wu Zhaohua.
The Woman in Green tapped her chin and continued, “That is because most Yin-Yang Bodies are female. Male Yin-Yang Bodies are very rare.”
“A female Yin-Yang Body can do what I did. By bearing the Dragon Race marks, she can complete the cycle within her Small World and absorb the Lingli of heaven and earth.”
“But a male Yin-Yang Body cannot. This is because a male Yin-Yang Body is more pure than a female one — more suited for living beings, for procreation.”
“With a single male Yin-Yang Body and a stable environment, the Human Race and other races can be led to greatness. After all, as the paternal body, you only need to provide a continuous stream of excellent seeds, and the women will bear children for you.”
“This is the instinct of the Yin-Yang Body that aligns with the Heavenly Dao. Procreating offspring is actually the primary physical instinct of a male Yin-Yang Body.”
Jiang Huai’s lips twitched as he explained, “The Human Race is not in such a crisis right now. There is no need for me to be some paternal body.”
If the Human Race ever reached that point, the thought was terrifying. Wouldn’t he just become a breeding machine?
The Woman in Green smiled and teased, “I see that you have quite a few types of Lingli in your body. I imagine you have many Dao Companions.”
“The woman who checked me just now is one of them, right?”
So she actually knew? She knew everything.
She continued to herself, “That girl is quite interesting. It seems about half of her Original Source is related to you. Is she your daughter? But then again, she does not quite seem like it.”
“Speaking of which, that is another way to think about it. Is it possible to produce several more small Yin-Yang Bodies?”
Jiang Huai hurriedly interrupted her, his face turning slightly pale. “Senior, Senior… let us discuss such matters later.”
“My time is running out. Please tell me what I should do next.”
He wanted to chat with her, but his body really could not hold out much longer. He was already injured to begin with.
“Then come find me again next time.”
The Woman in Green sighed, and a light representing the Five Elements appeared in her hand.
“You male Yin-Yang Bodies need more than just the marks of the Five Elements. You also need the Yin Essence of the Dragon who gave you the mark. This aligns with the way of procreation.”
“The reason your Red Dragon Mark is not functioning in your Small World is that you lack that Red Dragon’s Yin Essence. You just need to go get it.”
“It is the same for other races. Do you understand?”
“It is strange, though. You already have the mark of the Red Dragon’s Essence Blood. How do you not have her Yin Essence?” she asked, unable to hide her confusion.
‘Yin… Yin Essence? Chi Hong’s Yin Essence?’ Jiang Huai’s face turned pale.
