After enjoying the Magic Power and equipment from the same batch of Deep Ones, Su Mu and Ye Wanqing were still not satisfied.
Instead, they sneakily returned to the bridge.
Relying on Su Mu’s shared vision, they continued to lie in wait for the next batch of “lucky audience” members.
This feeling of getting something for nothing was truly embarrassing, shameful, and humiliating… mainly because they didn’t actually dare to show their faces.
If they were recognized, they might end up on a wanted list.
However, it had to be said—getting something for nothing felt so good!
“Barrage, go!”
“Someone else is coming? Trying to evacuate across the bridge? With my Sulfur Fire Mis—”
“Someone’s sneaked under the bridge! Ye Wanqing, go hammer him!”
“Hey, someone’s stealing our loot! Spit out my Magic Power!”
“Bang!”
“Wait, why have they stopped in the core area? They’re just standing behind the barrier of the Ruins staring at us from a distance? And there are so many of them… there are Strange Persons, Witches, and even people from the Combat Division? Are they not going to fight each other?”
“Wait, what do you mean they’re pointing in our direction? Are you saying they’re all going to rush us at once?”
“Life, can’t you let me go just this once…?”
“Bang!”
After firing one last missile that left the allied forces covered in soot and grime, Su Mu and Ye Wanqing turned and fled in a panic.
Before the enraged alliance could storm the bridge, the two girls hopped onto the back of the Dreamswimming Fish.
Relying on Ye Wanqing’s sniper rifle to ward off the lingering attackers, they finally returned with a full haul.
“Let’s see how much loot we gathered this time… a small electric drill, a magic gun, and oh, here’s a very fat fish.”
Su Mu held up the Magic Power fish, which was nearly the size of a baby, and tossed it toward Ye Wanqing’s face.
The latter nearly jumped in fright, scrambling to catch it.
“The Magic Power in this fish is equivalent to a full C-rank’s total capacity? Little Mouse Mu, if you don’t understand its value, don’t just throw it around! Do you have any idea how much—”
Ye Wanqing huffed slightly as she settled the flopping fish back into its place.
Immediately after, she pulled out a deck of cards.
“If you’re bored, let’s keep playing. I’m going to win back double what you took from me today.”
It was a gambler’s mentality—a severe one.
Ye Wanqing was currently blinded by her desires… no, she was blinded by the shame of defeat and the thirst for revenge.
The things she had already lost, including her panties and vest, didn’t matter.
She was determined to strip Little Mouse Mu bare today.
‘Look at her! She was sitting there with that annoying, cheeky grin again!’
“Are you planning to cheat? Or are you trying to test my self-control?”
“I’m not playing. What if you run out of clothes later? Unless—”
Ye Wanqing shook her head, her gaze suddenly becoming sharp.
With a wave of her hand, a brilliant curtain of fire unfolded.
It transformed into a wall of flames that blocked off the surrounding area, isolating them from any potential prying eyes.
“Come! I’m going to win everything down to your last stitch today!”
Ye Wanqing made a bold gesture.
She was going all in!
***
A while later.
The Dreamswimming Fish swayed and bumped along.
It was unclear if the journey was always this slow, but it certainly shouldn’t have been this shaky.
Ye Wanqing was now fully dressed, her pretty face flushed red.
Su Mu, on the other hand, looked slightly disheveled with a dazed look in her eyes.
Ye Wanqing chuckled and jumped off the Dreamswimming Fish.
A moment later, Su Mu frowned, steadied her somewhat weak legs, and followed her down.
“Hehe, I told you, having a ‘big’ advantage is great.”
The terrifying amount of Magic Power the two of them carried caused people on both sides to stare, their eyes wide with shock.
This had to be 5,000,000… no, the two of them combined had a reserve of at least 10,000,000 Tu.
It was almost equivalent to the Moment Fish that Tang Nai had brought out, which was an entire B-rank’s worth of Magic Power.
Absorbing this turbid Magic Power was inefficient and wouldn’t yield the expected results.
Although Su Mu wasn’t a Magical Girl right now and didn’t need to replenish Pure Magic, it was impossible for her to reach B-rank just with this.
Reaching 100,000 would be good enough.
Out of the 10,000,000 Tu, only about 2,500,000 could be successfully assimilated into the body.
That didn’t even account for the reward she had to give to the great contributor, Ye Wanqing.
“Repay me with something else. After all, you don’t want to spend more energy gathering Magic Power, right… Hey, are you really planning that?”
Seeing Su Mu lightly lick her cherry-red lips with a seductive gaze, as if she had no intention of sharing the Magic Power, Ye Wanqing felt a faint sense of confusion.
‘Is this… is this still the Little Mouse Mu I know? It’s not bad, though…’
“Hmph, just kidding. We’ll split it half and half. This is your share.”
Seeing that Ye Wanqing had actually fallen for it, Su Mu laughed in spite of herself.
She divided the organized Magic Power in two and handed half to Ye Wanqing.
The latter took it blankly, and upon realizing she had been teased, she puffed out her cheeks in anger.
“Take it back. I only want…”
“Hey, do you think I’m easy to fool? I don’t need your Magic Power!”
Ye Wanqing wanted to use her annoyance as an excuse to push the Magic Power back so Su Mu could promote herself in peace, but the latter simply declined.
“What are you thinking? Stop talking about compensation all the time. You make it sound like you’re taking advantage of me. Do you mean to say that if I didn’t give you Magic Power, you’d actually behave yourself?”
Su Mu smiled slightly and grabbed Ye Wanqing’s hand.
Even though the touch was familiar, it made the latter’s face heat up.
“Well, since you put it that way, I won’t be polite.”
Ye Wanqing pulled the Magic Power into her body while speaking with a bit of gloom, “By the way, I feel like you’ve become much more mature, Little Mouse Mu. What happened while I was away?”
“Nothing much happened while you were gone, so don’t worry.” Su Mu’s pace was quite light.
Because Ye Wanqing was taller, Su Mu had to take two steps for every one of hers, yet she moved with remarkable ease.
“Being too conflicted isn’t good. It’s easy to miss out on many cherished things, and you won’t have time to enjoy the person you like…”
Ye Wanqing squeezed Su Mu’s small hand, interrupting her.
“Don’t just start philosophizing to yourself. And what do you mean by ‘enjoying’? You greedy, fickle little mouse.”
Su Mu let out a light laugh and couldn’t help but giggle.
Her bell-like laughter echoed in Ye Wanqing’s ears like the clear ringing of a spring.
“That’s right. I am greedy and fickle. I like you, I like Lando, and maybe… well, forget it. No one’s going to convict me of bigamy anyway.”
Hearing this, Ye Wanqing huffed and flicked Su Mu’s forehead.
Feeling that wasn’t enough, she added a playful kick to Su Mu’s sensitive backside.
“Bad mouse, stupid mouse. You think figuring things out is cool? It’s not! You look childish, like a brat who just graduated from kindergarten to middle school. A beautiful girl needs to have some modesty, you understand?”
Ye Wanqing pinched Su Mu’s soft cheek and pulled it wide as she continued.
“You aren’t shy at all and love to preach. Aren’t you just an expired lolita now? You’ve been hanging around Tang Nai for too long; she’s corrupted you!”
Su Mu’s face hurt from being pulled, making her unable to speak.
Feeling the gaze of the crowd gathering on them, her face began to heat up at an alarming rate.
Ye Wanqing had clearly been led astray and was acting reckless, but Su Mu couldn’t handle the attention.
She had only wanted to act cool for a little bit.
“Shtop! Let go of me! I wuz wrong! Let go!”
