Enya released her grip on the rabbit.
The gray-white little creature hopped and bounced away, hiding behind Rosily’s legs.
Its front paws clawed anxiously at the girl’s calf.
It occasionally glanced at Enya, as if afraid.
Its shiny, black-bean-like eyes gleamed with awareness—this little guy seemed to know that unless Rosily was willing to protect it, it wouldn’t survive.
Rosily crouched down and gently stroked the fur on the gray rabbit’s back.
She actually quite liked this rabbit.
Enya set down the knife in her hand and stood up.
“Keep this one, then. I’ll buy you one from the market tomorrow for eating.”
“Mm.”
Rosily nodded and picked up the gray rabbit.
She was just about to head upstairs when Enya called out to her again.
“Wait a second!”
The girl turned back, looking at Enya with a puzzled expression.
Enya said earnestly, “Make sure you keep it under control. If it eats any of the herbs growing in the yard, it’ll be the main dish for dinner that night.”
Rosily nodded quickly.
It didn’t make much difference to her either way.
She looked down at the rabbit, which seemed to tense up, and thought to herself, You’re on your own from here.
Those words weren’t just for Rosily—they were for the rabbit too.
This one wasn’t like ordinary rabbits.
After breakfast, Enya patiently watered the crops in the field.
Each tender young seedling received just one drop of potion.
But don’t be fooled by how little it was—each drop contained potent energy, enough to act like a strong stimulant for the plants.
Enya felt a weight suddenly pressing on her head.
Just as she was about to turn around, Rosily draped herself lazily onto Enya’s back, completely relaxing and handing over her full weight.
The girl rested her head on Enya’s shoulder, basking in the sun.
It wasn’t a big deal—except that, quite unfortunately, her legs ended up pinching Enya’s tail.
Enya immediately stiffened, her delicate brows furrowing as a pink blush rose to her cheeks.
She inhaled sharply and lightly pinched Rosily’s upper arm.
The girl yelped in pain, but still didn’t let go.
Enya said helplessly, “Can’t you see I’m busy right now?”
“Hehe~”
Rosily gave a silly giggle and then hopped down and ran off.
Enya didn’t chase her.
Watching her daughter’s carefree and innocent demeanor, she couldn’t stay angry—it wasn’t a big deal, after all.
She decided to let it go this time.
Enya reached up to touch her head.
At first, her hand accidentally brushed one of her dragon horns.
Then she finally felt what Rosily had placed there.
It was a ring woven from flowers and grasses.
She turned to look at her daughter, who was wandering aimlessly in the distance, and couldn’t help but wonder—should she send Rosily to school?
The educational system in this world was simple.
There were only two types: City Schools and Public Academies.
There was also the rare Apostle Inheritance path.
City Schools, as the name suggested, were magical schools run by individual cities.
They were expensive—most families couldn’t afford them.
Those who could attend City Schools were typically the wealthy merchants or noble families.
Only they could afford the best education.
In contrast, Public Academies only required a small fee.
Anyone could attend, but the education there was very basic—simple magic training and introductory spellcasting.
Essentially, they were just for foundational learning.
Enya felt that Rosily playing alone all day was a bit lonely.
Maybe sending her to school would be good—she could make friends there.
With that in mind, Enya waved toward her daughter in the distance.
“Rosily, come here for a moment!”
Rosily had been watching a bug chewing on a leaf.
When she heard Enya call, she immediately stood up, climbed over the stone fence around the yard, and ran over quickly.
The way she nimbly climbed the fence made Enya both angry and helpless.
When the girl came closer, Enya carefully examined her.
Yes, she was old enough to start school.
Enya placed a hand on Rosily’s shoulder and gave her a mysterious smile.
“Rosily, do you want to go to school?”
“School?”
Rosily blinked.
Oh, so Mama wanted her to go to school!
Enya assumed Rosily didn’t know what school was, so she explained:
“School is where you learn how to use mana and magic. Rosily, would you like to learn magic?”
“But I’d rather learn swordsmanship from Sister Henna!”
“Ahem… You can learn that at school too. Henna is usually busy—it’s better not to bother her, don’t you think, little Rosily?”
“……”
“And you can make friends at school. They could play with you.”
“……”
But no matter what Enya said, Rosily kept her head down, pouting.
Only after Enya finished speaking did she finally look up, her eyes brimming with tears.
She sniffled quietly and spoke to Enya in a trembling voice:
“Mama… do you think I’m annoying?”
“???”
“You must think I’m annoying… That’s why you want to send me to school!”
“……”
Enya’s golden, majestic slit pupils narrowed.
She cupped Rosily’s small face with both hands, bringing her daughter’s eyes to face her own.
But Rosily kept trying to turn her head away, so Enya firmly said:
“Look into Mama’s eyes and say that again.”
Rosily immediately dropped the act and turned to run—but Enya was too fast.
Before she could even turn away, Enya grabbed her wrist in one swift motion.
Oh no—she’s going to get it!
Sensing impending doom, Rosily instantly threw herself into Enya’s arms and turned on the charm.
“Mama, I’m sorry!”
Seeing her daughter act all soft and cuddly, Enya took a deep breath… then let it out slowly, clearly exasperated.
“It’s just school—do you really have to act like this?”
“Mm…”
Rosily pouted, looking aggrieved as she hung her head.
Enya reached out and ruffled her hair, saying:
“It’s not like you have to go. If you really don’t want to, then you don’t have to.”
“Mm-mm-mm!!”
Hearing that she didn’t have to go to school after all, Rosily let out a breath of relief, and her mood instantly brightened.
At that moment, a shabby horse-drawn carriage slowly approached on the road outside the courtyard.
An old man waved at Enya.
Enya let go of the clinging Rosily.
“I’ve got work to do—let go.”
Enya headed to the study and began carrying out the potions she had brewed out of boredom.
Rosily immediately ran over and grabbed the box of healing potions from Enya’s hands.
“I’ll help!”
That left Enya momentarily stunned.
Now she wants to help?
Up until now, Rosily had always just stood by supervising while Enya worked.
But seeing her daughter actively helping, Enya felt genuinely pleased.
The two of them boarded the rented carriage and set off toward Redpine City’s north gate.
Before long, they arrived at their destination.
