“The Sword of the Hero?”
“Is the Sword of the Hero that legendary sword from the Resistance?”
“Why would it appear in the hands of the Demon Duke?”
Silence lingered for a short while before everyone broke into a heated discussion.
This matter was of immense significance. It was a divine weapon that existed only in dreams, as rare as the Sun Gold Sutra hidden within the Singing Blood Ghost Girl’s Otherworld. It was a one-hundred-percent legendary-tier weapon.
The only reason the Sun Gold Sutra had been found so quickly by the slacker Miworm was because she was a Great Script-reader. If it had been anyone else, it wouldn’t have been so easy to find.
The Sun Gold Sutra was an artifact left behind by the Human Emperor of the Kingdom. It actually had nothing to do with the Church; it was an ancient weapon used to represent the status of the background.
Now, the second legendary weapon on the world map was about to emerge. It was the legendary Sword of the Adventurers’ Guild, and it was also the reason a certain Hero had come here.
It had been analyzed before: if you haven’t defeated a Demon King, on what basis can you call yourself a Hero? Just because of a piece of paper?
As it turned out, there really was a sword in the ancient era that could prove a Hero’s identity.
However, the Sword of the Hero had been lost at some point. No modern Adventurer had ever seen it.
When a certain ancient Hero failed in their exploration, the Sword of the Hero vanished into the depths of the Sea of Ten Thousand Plants. One could even say it was already a miracle that the legend had survived this long.
This was also why there were as many as five Heroes now. Because the proof of a Hero had been lost, any random person could claim to be one.
Nevertheless, the Sword of the Hero would one day return to the Human Race, just like right now.
At the same time, the major guilds that had been getting along relatively well suddenly became enemies eyeing each other like tigers when the potential benefits far outweighed the rewards of cooperation.
There were five Heroes in total, but only one could truly become the Hero.
The top three guilds each had their own Hero, and they were determined to obtain the Sword of the Hero. They would never let it go easily.
At the very least, it was now certain that three large Adventurer armies would set out toward the Abyssal Demon Ruins.
The winds were rising; the Adventurers were about to do something big.
As for a certain Miworm who was causing trouble in the shadows, hoping to act like a hunter waiting for the tiger to tire itself out, she had actually become a little insect that no one bothered with anymore.
It was laughable; no one would pay attention to her little tricks anymore.
Everyone was preparing to clear the SS-level epic quest.
—
“Cow, stay close to me. Don’t wander off.”
That said, Samimi and Niubao were currently relaxing and strolling through the No. 20 Super-giant Pioneer Camp, unaware of the undercurrents surging outside.
Samimi had come here to do one important thing: send a letter back to the Church, specifically for Director Flora of the Demon Bureau to receive.
The content was simple: tell the Church to hurry up and release the priests and divine officials who were willing to fight! Send them all to the south to support the Adventurers’ Guild!
Samimi even stuffed her Valkyrie Badge into the envelope. Since she had already successfully registered with the Adventurers’ Guild, she no longer needed this Valkyrie Medal.
Once Qiqi Zhu saw this Valkyrie Badge, she would know the letter was written by Samimi.
“Phew.” Samimi let out a long breath.
She was still too soft-hearted. Such a move would undoubtedly expose her actions. Someone would definitely come to capture her and take her back to be an Archbishop, but she didn’t want to watch the Adventurers be swallowed by the Deep Flood.
As long as there was a powerful medical system, the Adventurer Pioneer Camp would be the strongest defensive front line. Holding back the offensive of the Demon Duke’s army would be no problem at all.
“Lady Priestess, we agreed that you’d use my name when we’re outside,” Niubao complained.
“Fine, fine. Niumi-chan,” Samimi replied perfunctorily.
Niubao looked resentful, but she knew Samimi was the type who could be persuaded by kindness but never by force. If you tried to be tough with her, she would be even tougher. She was practically a stubborn iron-head who wouldn’t listen to reason.
For someone even the powerful Ten-Tails Cow thought was stubborn, one could only say there was no hope for her.
But only a Miworm who was even more stubborn than the Cow could keep Niubao in check. Otherwise, Niubao would have crashed through the camp gates long ago.
Furthermore, the No. 20 Super-giant Pioneer Camp held the largest **[Weapon Trading Market]** in the entire south.
A vast amount of mysterious weapons were sold here. Every weapon was something Adventurers had obtained while exploring the Sea of Trees.
Though no one knew why there were so many abandoned human weapons in the Senbiao Sea, people didn’t ask questions in another world.
Regarding this issue, the Adventurers’ Guild had once provided a simulated answer: this place was once the birthplace of the ancient Human Race. After all, many ancient ruins still existed within the Sea of Trees.
Also, in this so-called grand Weapon Trading Market, true divine weapons were unlikely to appear. It was mostly a small market for green and blue-tier weapons. If a purple weapon appeared, it would cause a massive stir.
At the same time, many red-tier weapons were sold here—namely, forged weapons.
However, the quality of forged weapons was very volatile. The upper limit was high, but the lower limit was low. It wasn’t easy to find good goods, and one might even get cheated.
This Weapon Trading Market was, instead, the largest stage for blacksmiths to show off.
Every blacksmith wanted to become famous through a single battle here, bringing out their peerless divine weapon to shock the world.
However, that had nothing to do with Samimi. She wasn’t interested in forged weapons. She came here, of course, to find the Demon Daggers.
Those things had no practical combat value, but they were still high-quality antique weapons. If an Adventurer happened to find one, they would likely bring it to the weapon market to sell.
As a side note, besides the Cicada Lord and the Moonlight Crystal Body, Samimi and Niubao had already quietly dealt with several Magic Phoenix leaders.
None of this had been reported to the Adventurers’ Guild, which was why they hadn’t been mentioned in the Adventurer meeting earlier. Although not every demon leader dropped a Demon Dagger, the drop rate was very high. They had already collected four Demon Daggers.
The Moonlight Crystal Body had dropped the seventh Demon Dagger, which meant there were at least seven of these daggers, possibly more.
However, Samimi felt there were exactly seven. The number seven had a strange sense of familiarity. Also, don’t be fooled by how easily Samimi had defeated that Moonlight Crystal Body; for an ordinary Adventurer, it was a boss that exceeded standard limits.
The danger level of that thing was on par with a wyvern. Of course, a wyvern was much scarier, but its ability to hover in the sky was a height many physical-class professions could never reach in their entire lives.
So, if her guess was correct, [Demon Dagger – Seven] should be the last of the daggers.
And then…
“Boss, how much for this dagger?” The sharp-eyed Samimi spotted a Demon Dagger being sold at a ground stall in the distance.
“100, no bargaining.” The boss glanced at Samimi and Niubao. At a glance, he could tell they were two easy targets.
This sort of situation was also a common trope; the protagonist usually has to deal with some minor idiocy. Who knows why?
“Here.” Samimi was a bit of a socially anxious girl; she never bargained when buying things. She would rather pay more money than speak more words.
She pulled out ten Kingdom gold coins and set them down. Anyway, the travel funds were being paid for by the White Knight. She picked up the Demon Dagger and prepared to leave.
“Wait! I said 100 gold coins!” The boss hurriedly changed his tone.
“Old man, don’t court death. I’m afraid you’ll have the life to take the money but not the life to spend it.” Samimi smiled and pointed to a bag of gold coins, saying calmly, “Take it if you have the guts.”
“I was just joking!” Seeing so much money, the boss swallowed hard, but in the end, he waved his hand and gave two hollow laughs, letting it go.
After all, he was an old hand who had hung around the mixed-up Weapon Trading Market for years; he had to have at least this much discernment.
Besides, what kind of minor character could a beautiful Priestess be if she carried that much money into the No. 20 Pioneer Camp?
‘I was just saying, no need to really take it to heart.’
Samimi and Niubao continued to stroll, looking for Demon Daggers, hoping to finish a full circuit of the entire Weapon Trading Market today.
If a Demon Dagger was bought and taken away from the Sea of Ten Thousand Plants, it would be very troublesome to find. It was best to collect them all here.
A strange girl sitting in a wheelchair slowly approached the two and asked softly, “Hello, may I ask what you are looking for?”
“Does it concern you?” Samimi glanced at her.
Why did a person in a wheelchair suddenly appear? Moreover, it was a mana-driven wheelchair. She wasn’t pushing it with her hands but driving it with magic.
“I am a member of the Morning Light Guild. I heard about your deeds from Miss Meihua Ding,” the wheelchair girl replied.
“How are Miss Meihua and the others?” Samimi asked.
“They are all very well. Also, Vice President Hake is very worried about you,” the wheelchair girl said.
“I don’t actually care about them,” Samimi laughed. “Who are you? For the Strategist to tell you the guild’s secrets, your status in the Morning Light Guild must be unusual.”
“You can call me Ge. I am a blacksmith for the Morning Light Guild,” the wheelchair girl introduced herself.
“You’re calling me Ge?” Samimi questioned.
“No, just the single character, Ge,” the wheelchair girl corrected.
“What is your surname?” Samimi asked.
“No surname. My family was killed by demons long ago. I am an orphan,” the girl Ge said.
“Sorry,” Samimi apologized insincerely.
“Vice President Hake said the Priestess is a very gentle person, but spending time with you now, it doesn’t seem to be the case.” The girl Ge smiled. “The Priestess seems to be a more sincere person.”
“Sincere?” Samimi laughed.
An interesting woman. For a woman to seek her out on her own initiative, she likely had a motive.
Because Samimi’s looks and clothing had always been a thorn in the eyes of female Adventurers, they all disliked a delicate Priestess like her, thinking she was a vixen who tricked men.
“You didn’t come looking for me just to chat, did you?” Samimi asked.
“Vice President Hake instructed me that if you came to Camp No. 20, I should take you back to our guild headquarters. I have already prepared a place for you to rest; you don’t need to stay in an inn every day,” the girl Ge explained.
“I don’t need a place to stay, but I want to see your weapon workshop. If I’m going to stay, I’ll stay at your place,” Samimi said.
“Why?” The girl Ge looked puzzled.
“Because I don’t like men,” Samimi said with a smile that was quite frightening.
