Late at night.
The darkness of night blanketed the earth, and a sliver of moonlight filtered through the gap in the curtains, shining onto the nightstand.
This was the time when countless people were resting, yet Xu Yinsheng was tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
She opened her eyes, her exquisite eyelashes drooping as she looked at the black-haired girl who was only one elbow’s distance away from her.
The Ring of the Nibelung, two months’ worth of rent.
She had only wanted to fleece the other girl, but the result was that the other girl wanted to come and live at her home for two months.
“Little Xu, it’s so late. Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
The person beside her on the pillow opened her eyes as well.
Seeing her past self gazing at her so intently, she reached out and pinched the other’s cheek.
“I can’t sleep.”
Xu Yinsheng withdrew her gaze and looked up at the ceiling.
The atmosphere gradually grew cold.
Suddenly, she spoke out of the blue.
“Zhao Yicheng and I had a falling out.”
“I know.”
“You don’t want to do something about it?”
“What do you think I would do?”
The Assassin Girl moved forward until their foreheads were pressed together.
Their eyes met, their breaths mingled, and they could even clearly feel each other’s body temperature.
“Should I forcibly tie you to his bed, or use the complete hypnosis kit? Or maybe let you become his Star Fury? Hehehe, Little Yin, my little kitten.”
Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng laughed quite wickedly.
Xu Yinsheng instinctively moved back to put some distance between them. Noticing the wariness in her eyes, the other girl swiftly reached out and gave her fair forehead a flick.
“I was just scaring you. You actually took it seriously.”
“Even though I’m a member of the Marriage Faction, I’m not as disgraceful as you think. I disdain doing things by force, uh… though sometimes a bit of force is just to add a bit of kink. You know as well as I do that after getting married, there are some things you can’t do anymore. For example, going out to cut stones with other men or going to a nightclub for a party. Even if he doesn’t mind, I would find it disgusting myself. So, I can only find some fun for myself. Ahem, even if I do have a wicked side, it’s just a hobby for the sake of foreplay.”
“Wait.” Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng seemed to think of something and immediately glared at Xu Yinsheng, her cheeks flushing and her jaw set.
“You don’t actually think I was trained into a Star Fury by him, do you!”
Xu Yinsheng rubbed her nose awkwardly and didn’t speak. Sensing that the person beside her was about to explode, she hurriedly changed the subject.
“Are you here for a vacation or something else?”
“You could call it a vacation. After all, he and I had a bit of an unpleasant spat. I came over to stay for a few days to cool off.” The Assassin Girl puffed out her cheeks.
“Are you planning to get a divorce?”
“How is that possible? It’s just about Role Play. He thinks my XP is too weird and even wanted to take me to see a psychological Doctor.”
The Assassin Girl let out a dissatisfied snort.
“Stupid man! When he was pinning me to the bed for exercise, he didn’t say things like that.”
Initially, Xu Yinsheng was quite supportive of her. For a mere Role Play to cause a conflict, his mind was far too narrow. But when she learned the contents of the Role Play…
Xu Yinsheng had never felt like she supported Zhao Yicheng this much, even if it was his future self.
As they chatted, Xu Yinsheng grew even less sleepy. She looked at the ceiling and asked another question.
“What do you think of Zhao Yicheng?”
“What I think isn’t important. What matters is what you think.” Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng looked indifferent. Then, she added, “Are you planning to cut ties with him completely, or continue this current push and pull?”
Cut ties completely or continue the push and pull?
Xu Yinsheng thought about it while looking at the ceiling. There was the time when they talked about everything during school, the mutual complaining as adults, the drinking until they were wasted… and then, after that one phone call, he had completely exploded, and she had fallen into the abyss…
After a while, she felt tired.
“I’m sleepy. Let’s sleep.”
“Goodnight, Little Xu.”
***
The next day, Saturday.
The sky had just begun to turn the color of a fish’s belly, and a faint sliver of light filtered into the room through the curtains that weren’t fully drawn.
Xu Yinsheng slowly opened her eyes. With a slight tilt of her head, her nose was directly facing a pair of soft mounds, and she could smell the faint, pleasant fragrance of the girl’s body.
Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng had a terrible sleeping posture. She was clinging to her like an octopus, her hands cradling Xu Yinsheng’s head while her own head was buried in the crook of Xu Yinsheng’s neck.
The corner of Xu Yinsheng’s mouth twitched.
‘Is she an octopus? She’s holding on so tight.’
She looked at the “attachment” on her body speechlessly for a moment, then peeled the Assassin Girl off her.
Disturbed by Xu Yinsheng’s movements, Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng also opened her eyes dazedly and muttered with dissatisfaction.
“It’s so early. Why are you getting up so early? Besides, the two of us are like dogs. Did you forget?”
Despite saying that, she quickly sat up and stretched. The sunlight hit her face, making her look like a lazy little kitten.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve slept this comfortably. This feels great!”
Xu Yinsheng also sat up, grabbed a disposable paper cup to pour herself some water, and simultaneously peeked at the Assassin Girl out of the corner of her eye.
Sensing the secret, peeking gaze from the side, Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng finished changing her clothes and turned her head. She faced Xu Yinsheng with a half-smile, then patted her chest with her small hand, causing it to heave and surge like the sea.
“Eat more papaya, and you can also have a career line as impressive as mine. Want to know why I like the octopus hug? It’s because every morning I can give the person I love a ‘Breast Surge Like a Pie’ hug.”
Xu Yinsheng: “…”
Once the two women had completely finished washing up, Xu Yinsheng called the other over to the kitchen to make breakfast together.
What was it like to cook with oneself?
Their minds were in sync, and they shared a spiritual connection.
They didn’t even need to speak; with just a single glance, the other would know whether to hand over the lettuce or the toast.
Since they were the same person, their tastes were very close — or rather, identical. Orange juice and sandwiches were their breakfast for the day.
It was an ordinary breakfast, yet Xu Yinsheng found it tasted different. The massive Villa no longer held only her silhouette, the broad Brocade Table no longer held a single, lonely plate, and there was an extra touch of warmth on the large double bed.
Perhaps, having someone to accompany her was actually quite nice.
After finishing breakfast, Xu Yinsheng declined Chen Chenyu’s invitation to cut stones. She dragged Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng to the game room on the second floor to play games with her.
The King of Fighters, Bomber Man, Clatier’s Swordsman…
These were all collections and favorites from Xu Yinsheng’s childhood. She used to play them with Zhao Yicheng, and now she was playing them with her future self.
But even though they were the same person and their skill levels should have been similar, Xu Yinsheng was crushed into the ground every single time.
They played games until noon, right until both of their stomachs began to growl. Xu Yinsheng volunteered to cook lunch, and Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng helped by prepping the ingredients.
The happy time was meant to be carefree, but it was as if the heavens were intentionally tripping Xu Yinsheng up. The piercing sound of the doorbell rang out once again. Xu Yinsheng instinctively grabbed her shotgun, but “Assassin Girl Xu Yinsheng” beat her to it, pulling open the door and running out.
“Coming! Who is it?”
