“Speaking of which, Old Ji hasn’t shown her face at school for over half a month. Does anyone know what she’s been busy with at home?”
“Not sure. I only see her occasionally on the friend list in the game space.”
“I wonder how things are going between her and the Campus Heartthrob?”
“I bet Old Ji is playing hard to get. A strong person like Old Ji probably finds it harder to adapt after turning into a girl. She likely needs some psychological counseling to deal with this brand-new life.”
“Then why did she invite us out for street food this time? Did she run into more trouble and come to vent to us?”
“……”
The autumn breeze was crisp as the four members of Dorm 802 sat around a table at a roadside food stall. The tantalizing aroma of meat wafted through the air, making everyone’s mouth water.
Luo Yikang picked up a chicken wing and took two bites before suddenly spotting a figure with a shoulder bag in the distance. He immediately cried out in surprise.
“Whoa, why is the Campus Heartthrob coming toward us!”
The other three looked in the direction he was pointing. They saw a young man dressed in a white shirt and jeans, carrying a bag, walking straight toward them. It looked like this was his destination.
“The Heartthrob is here, but where’s Old Ji?” Hu Li asked.
“Maybe she’s behind him.”
“The Heartthrob is here and Old Ji invited us out… could they have officially hooked up and are planning to confess to us?”
“That was fast! I thought they’d be dragging it out for at least half a year.”
“Shh! Keep it down. He’s here. Let’s act like we didn’t see anything,” Liu Yao whispered as a reminder.
The other three shut their mouths one after another, burying their heads in their food, drinking, and gnawing on ribs.
Jiang Chi arrived at the food stall according to the location Ji Yunian had sent him. From a distance, he could see the four members of 802 whispering among themselves.
However, as he approached, the originally noisy environment suddenly went dead silent. The four of them lowered their heads, some drinking, some eating, and some focused entirely on their ribs.
He found it a bit strange, but he only paused for a moment before ignoring it and walking straight over.
“Hello everyone, I’m also here for the gathering.”
After Jiang Chi sat down, he greeted everyone.
He wasn’t very familiar with Ji Yunian’s roommates; his only connection to them was through her.
At this moment, the flickering candlelight reflected on everyone’s faces. Although they all tried their best to keep their heads down while eating, Jiang Chi noticed several issues upon closer observation. For instance, the body shapes and facial structures of two of them seemed slightly uncoordinated, and there were faint traces of makeup.
Suddenly, the roar of a powerful engine sounded. Before Jiang Chi could even look up, he felt a cold wind so sharp it felt like it could slice through the ornamental trees on both sides of the road.
A dark blue shadow flashed past him followed by the tooth-grinding screech of brakes. A Bugatti Veyron came to a sudden halt in a parking spot near Jiang Chi.
The car window rolled down, and Ji Yunian, with most of her face hidden behind large-framed women’s sunglasses, poked her head out. “Hello~ brothers! Welcome to the new me!”
With that, she took off her sunglasses and flashed a smile, her long hair slightly disheveled by the wind.
She pushed the car door open and stepped out. Wearing seven-centimeter stiletto heels, she walked over to Jiang Chi with a bold stride and draped an arm over his shoulder like a true “bro.” She then introduced him to the group: “This is my new little underling, Chi-baby.”
“I’ve been agonizing over the stuff between him and me, as well as some family matters lately. But now, I’ve moved past it.”
After Ji Yunian finished speaking, she winked. “So, do you guys have any questions?”
As she spoke, she intentionally puffed out her proud chest.
Ji Yunian was meticulously dressed today. Her tight denim outfit accentuated her tall and sexy figure. Her fair skin seemed to glow under the lights, and a mischievous glint sparkled in her peach-blossom eyes.
After finishing her sentence, Ji Yunian blinked her large eyes, waiting for everyone to start questioning her.
“Wait, why aren’t you guys surprised?” Suddenly, her brow furrowed as she noticed something was off. She had come out in full women’s clothing, yet everyone was staring at her with calm expressions as if they had known everything all along.
The group was stunned for a moment, looking at each other in silence. Then, someone let out a sudden howl, and they all began talking at once in a disorganized mess.
“Wow, wow, wow! I didn’t expect you to be a girl, Brother Ji!!”
“Awooo! Brother Ji, you kept us in the dark so well. We’re only finding out now.”
“Brother Ji, you smell so good!”
“Wow! We lived together for almost three years, and only now do we know Brother Ji was actually a girl.”
Ji Yunian: “…”
Why did these people sound so insincere?
Exclamations, surprise, shock, disbelief… various emotions were woven together as everyone widened their eyes and stared intensely at her, as if seeing her for the first time.
However, someone suddenly “pffft” and burst out laughing. They couldn’t keep a straight face anymore. One by one, the others broke character, doubling over with laughter.
Seeing that they couldn’t keep the lie going, Luo Yikang looked at Liu Yao, and Yao Shiming looked at Hu Li. After Hu Li and Liu Yao exchanged a glance, Liu Yao cleared her throat and spoke.
“Old Ji, is it possible…”
She looked up with a complex gaze at Jiang Chi, who was currently lost in thought, and then turned her eyes back to Ji Yunian. “We already knew.”
“Huh!”
Now, it was Ji Yunian’s turn to be shocked.
“What?!!”
Her eyes widened, and her mouth hung open wide enough to swallow an egg. “You already knew?”
Liu Yao nodded, and the other three followed suit.
Ji Yunian: “Then… you guys… I-I-I… you-you-you…”
She looked at the other four in utter disbelief. In her state of shock, she was stuttering so badly she couldn’t even form a complete sentence.
“Um… Old Ji,” Hu Li Chimed in. “Is it possible that you aren’t the only girl in our dorm? For example, Liu Yao and I are also girls.”
At this point, “shocked” wasn’t enough to describe Ji Yunian. She was absolutely aghast.
“Wait, wait,”
“Let me process this. Let me process this.”
Ji Yunian took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Her mind quickly filtered through everything that had happened from the moment she got that double-sided silver coin until now.
After a long silence, she opened her eyes and looked solemnly at her four roommates. “Brothers, Dorm 802 is a male dorm, right?”
“Right,” everyone nodded.
“There are five of us in Dorm 802, right?”
“Right.”
“And out of these five people, three of them are actually girls???”
Ji Yunian looked horrified.
“Just like how there are five members of the Four Heavenly Kings, isn’t it normal for three out of five people in a guys’ dorm to be girls?” the others countered, acting as if this wasn’t an unusual occurrence at all.
Ji Yunian stood there, dazed.
She had planned to give her “brothers” a huge scare, but she ended up being the one scared half to death by them!
“Bro—no, Hu Li, Liu Yao, did you guys also buy cotton candy for a little green-haired boy?” Ji Yunian asked tentatively.
Hu Li and Liu Yao looked at each other, frowned, and said in unison, “What cotton candy? Old Ji, have you lost your mind?”
“What about the double-sided silver coin?”
“Never seen it.”
“Then how did you gender-swap?”
“Gender-swap? Isn’t this just a biological condition? Pseudohermaphroditism. It’s a joke played on us by the heavens,” Liu Yao replied.
“Speaking of which, Old Ji, when did you have your surgery? During those two months of summer break? The results are so good, you have to give me a recommendation.” Hu Li leaned in, her eyes scanning those two large “thunderclaps” on Ji Yunian’s chest with envy.
In that instant, Ji Yunian finally understood.
The two of them were born this way, while she was a late bloomer through other means.
Thinking about it this way, all the strange behaviors in the dorm before seemed to make sense now.
“You two, let me say something. Actually…”
She cleared her throat, her face flushing slightly. “I’m a little bit different from you. I’m a TS girl.”
