“Can I sleep with you?”
Song Qiuyu looked at Jiang Xiao expectantly, her lips slightly parted and her heart racing with nerves.
In their current situation, making such a request was undoubtedly unreasonable, yet at this moment, she felt a special desire to be close to him.
Perhaps it would be for the best if Jiang Xiao rejected her. That way, she could obediently return to her own room.
The adult movie was still playing on the computer.
“Can I? I want to stay!”
Hearing those wet, ambiguous words between lovers from the screen, her heart fluttered. The tips of her ears turned a deeper shade of red, and she couldn’t help but grab Jiang Xiao’s sleeve, acting spoiled.
“Xi’er, honestly, I want you to stay too.”
Jiang Xiao’s heart rate continued to accelerate.
When a girlfriend made such a request, what man could possibly refuse?
However, given their current circumstances, if Xi’er stayed, he would most likely lose his self-control. Since the last time they had done it, they had barely even held hands because there were too many people at home, let alone engaged in anything more intimate.
“Jiang Xiao—”
Song Qiuyu’s head was buzzing. She never expected Jiang Xiao to be thinking the same thing, and her heart skipped a beat. But on second thought, she felt it was perfectly normal. After all, they were already lovers, even if they were still in the probation period.
They had been getting along more and more harmoniously lately; it wouldn’t be long before they officially moved past the trial phase.
“But you should still go back,” Jiang Xiao said, suddenly changing direction.
“Eh?” Song Qiuyu was stunned.
“You should remember that Lao Lin believes in pre-marital celibacy, right?” Jiang Xiao hugged her, feeling a bit reluctant to let her go.
“Why bring up Lao Lin all of a sudden?” Song Qiuyu asked blankly, returning the embrace in a daze.
“Because the situation at my house is similar to his attitude.” Jiang Xiao sighed. “You might not have noticed, but when you followed me into my room, my Mom and Dad were staring at us the whole time.”
“Hmm?” Song Qiuyu froze again.
Now that Jiang Xiao mentioned it, she remembered. As they passed through the living room and headed upstairs, she indeed felt a sensation like needles pricking her back!
‘Do they think I’m some bad woman trying to devour Jiang Xiao?’
‘Wait, shouldn’t it be the other way around? Shouldn’t it be Jiang Xiao devouring me?’
“They’ll probably be in the living room watching the Spring Festival Gala all night for the New Year’s Vigil,” Jiang Xiao said regretfully as he released her. “If you don’t leave my room, they’ll most likely come knocking.”
“Well, that’s…”
Song Qiuyu was somewhat speechless, but after considering it for a moment, she nodded obediently.
“There are still a few minutes left in the movie. Shall we keep watching?” Jiang Xiao tilted his head and asked with a light laugh.
“No… I better not.”
Song Qiuyu shook her head gently and took a shallow breath. She pinched the corner of Jiang Xiao’s sleeve twice, then deliberately leaned her lips toward the back of his ear, using a tone meant to make one’s heart itch.
“Because I’m… getting… in the mood…”
The girl’s elegant body scent, mixed with the sweet, cloying fragrance of strawberry milk, lingered around his nose. Her hot, moist breath swept across his ear and neck like a prank. Those ambiguous, blunt words felt like a cat’s claws, lightly scratching at his heart over and over again.
His inner self was thrown into a state of turmoil.
Jiang Xiao couldn’t help but daze for a moment. He slowly tightened his grip, intending to take the small hand that was pulling at his sleeve, but then he saw her suddenly stand up from the bench. She let go of his sleeve and simultaneously tapped a key on the keyboard, pausing the movie.
Then, she ran to the door in a few quick steps, pulled it open, walked out, and closed it behind her.
Jiang Xiao stared at the door without blinking, feeling as if something were still missing.
Just as he thought that, he saw the girl outside open the door again. Her small head peeked through the crack, her face blushing crimson.
“I’ll be thinking of you. Goodnight!”
As soon as she finished speaking, her ripening face retracted, and the door closed once more.
Jiang Xiao stared silently at the door for a while, suppressing the urge to drag her back. He covered his face with one hand and looked through the gaps in his fingers at the paused computer screen.
‘It’s exactly at the worst part. It’s too messy…’
‘Xi’er really knows how to pick them…’
His mind was filled with the words she had deliberately left behind. His entire face under his palm and even the roots of his ears turned bright red.
If this were in the past, he probably wouldn’t have understood… He didn’t know much about what girls did, but because he had looked through the materials Xi’er gave him, he understood everything now!
Thinking of this, he closed his eyes tightly, filled with curiosity about what Xi’er was about to do.
‘I want to see.’
‘Why did you have to tease me right before leaving, Xi’er?’
‘She did it on purpose, didn’t she?’
He felt a mix of exasperation and amusement, feeling somewhat speechless but also finding her incredibly cute.
He really wished he could rush out right now, drag her back, and pin her against the computer desk!
‘Xi’er, there will be no peace for me tonight.’
Song Qiuyu was giggling.
With her hands behind her back, she walked with a happy, light step. However, her heart rate was completely chaotic, and her pretty face was red and succulent. She was incredibly embarrassed.
The sounds of sketches from the Spring Festival Gala and the cluttered noise of conversation from downstairs drifted into her ears. Recalling what just happened, she couldn’t help but cover her mouth and snicker.
‘This is so exciting~’
She was increasingly enjoying the fun of being a girl. This was something only a girl could do—teasing a boyfriend with lewd antics.
‘Jie jie jie.’
‘If I can’t tease a girlfriend, I’ll tease my boyfriend mercilessly!’
‘Poor Jiang Xiao’s head will definitely be filled with images of me doing that thing tonight.’
At that thought, her heart began to throb wildly. She covered her chest with both hands and quickened her pace. She really did need to take care of herself now.
“Autumn Rain Bro.”
Jiang Li’s cold voice appeared from behind her without any warning.
“Heh…”
Song Qiuyu stopped abruptly, her train of thought interrupted. She took a few panicked breaths as her heart sank. She quickly used her cool sleeves to chill her face, lowering its temperature before turning around with forced composure. She tilted her head in confusion.
“Jiang Li, why are you here? Do you need something?”
“I saw that you stayed in my brother’s room for a long time, so I snuck up to give you something good,” Jiang Li said indifferently.
‘Something good?’
Song Qiuyu froze. She didn’t understand the meaning behind Jiang Li’s words and blinked her eyes in confusion.
Before she could voice her doubts, she spotted the girl pulling a box out of her pocket. The appearance of the box was something she was all too familiar with.
Song Qiuyu’s heart suddenly thumped. She stared intently at the box lying flat in Jiang Li’s palm, gradually identifying it, understanding it, and slowly… losing her breath.
