Chapter 23: Minotaur diary

“Slap!”  

Li Zuhao had no choice but to grab the nearby water cup and splash it onto Kaixin Min’s face.  

“Ah?” 

Kaixin Min snapped awake this time, suddenly sitting upright on the sofa with a thud.  

“You’re okay…” 

Li Zuhao wanted to say something.  

Kaixin Min hadn’t fully seen his face yet, but her fists instinctively swung out.  

Her memories were still stuck at the moment she was drugged by that man; waking up, her first reaction was naturally to annihilate every man around her.  

“Pff~” 

Li Zuhao inexplicably took a punch to the stomach and immediately collapsed to the floor.  

“Huh? Why is it you?” 

Kaixin Min was about to stomp the man’s head, but luckily, just before executing her finishing move, she realized it wasn’t President Lei.  

“Stop. I’m here to save you.” 

Li Zuhao barely managed to save his own life.  

Kaixin Min’s fists dropped, and she fell silent for a moment.  

Logically, she should have said thank you.  

But this man always made it impossible for her to utter an apology.  

She just didn’t want to say it. 

Saying sorry just wouldn’t come out—it was about pride she couldn’t swallow.  

“Uh…” 

Li Zuhao rubbed his belly and struggled to stand up.  

“Where’s President Lei?” 

Kaixin Min’s tone softened considerably.  

“I threw him out the window.” 

Li Zuhao said as he moved over to President Lei’s desk, starting to rummage through some things.  

“What are you looking for?” 

Kaixin Min approached and whispered.  

“Looking for something to use as leverage against the President.” 

Li Zuhao flipped through Lei’s files and notes, answering casually.  

Kaixin Min froze, momentarily unable to react.  

She thought carefully and finally understood what he meant.  

Unexpectedly, this guy had such brilliant wisdom?  

They were now completely at odds with President Lei. 

It was clearly 100% his fault.  

But since he held all the power, it wasn’t considered his fault—it was the fault of small fry like them.  

For little people like them to survive, the simplest way was to find the powerful’s dirty secrets to threaten them.  

Suddenly, Kaixin Min noticed Li Zuhao’s palm wrapped in bandages stained with blood, and all her thoughts vanished in an instant.  

“Your hand is bleeding?” 

Kaixin Min asked cautiously.  

“I…I’m fine.” 

Li Zuhao hesitated.  

But it wasn’t that he really didn’t want to say anything—it was just an act.  

He had originally planned to use the wound on his hand to gain sympathy from Vice President Hao Tianhui. 

But that woman was tougher than he imagined, completely indifferent.  

Among his main targets now, Sword Club Ace Sakiharu Wen was the softest-hearted, followed by delinquent gal Kaixin Min, then his mysterious mother at home, and last was Vice President Hao Tianhui.  

No choice now—he had to use the same tactic meant for Hao Tianhui on Kaixin Min instead.  

Though Kaixin Min said nothing more, Li Zuhao knew her heartache must have deepened.  

Because she saw the bloodstains on the windowsill and instantly knew why Li Zuhao was hurt—it was an old wound reopening.  

Don’t be fooled by Kaixin Min’s carefree appearance; after knowing these delinquent gals for a few days, Li Zuhao realized she was actually the most rational one.  

So Li Zuhao knew she could figure out the reason behind his injury on her own—it was all to save her!  

No need for him to explain more.  

Overexplaining would seem forced.  

Sometimes a man just has to stay silent.  

If a woman can’t grasp the meaning behind that silence, then they’re simply not meant to be.  

At this moment, everything was said without words.  

Li Zuhao insisted on being strong, saying nothing, continuing to search for evidence, deliberately acting reliable.  

Though most of the files on President Lei’s desk were incomprehensible to him—even though they were in Chinese, the combination of professional terms and ledgers made no sense.  

Li Zuhao wore a solemn face.  

But in truth, he really couldn’t tell if President Lei had any hidden accounts or corruption.  

“Hm?” 

Li Zuhao suddenly found a notebook tucked under the counter—this should be a diary.  

He flipped it open and couldn’t help but show an evil smile.  

“What did you find?” 

Kaixin Min asked.  

“See for yourself.” 

Li Zuhao handed her the diary.  

Kaixin Min skimmed it briefly; it was more like an account book than a diary.  

It neatly listed names and dates, with very little extra information—usually just a brief description.  

But what was recorded was shocking.  

Dates, boys’ names, girls’ names, and behind them a brief record of how President Lei snatched other people’s girlfriends.  

“Ah?” 

Kaixin Min flipped through it continuously, gasping in disbelief.  

“Here’s a Diary of the Minotaur. With this, we can threaten his pristine image. I’m out of here. You just pretend you don’t know anything, act like you just woke up, and tell others you found President Lei falling out the window. Play dumb and say you know nothing—they won’t dare touch you.” 

Li Zuhao pocketed the diary and quickly slipped out through the window.  

“What are you planning to do with this?” 

Kaixin Min asked as she chased after him.  

“Consider it a form of redemption. I’ve hurt many girls before; now I want to save them.”  

With that, Li Zuhao jumped out the window, landing agilely into the bushes below.  

Kaixin Min leaned out the window, watching his limping figure fade away, her mind in turmoil.  

“President Lei’s dead!”  

But in the end, she did as Li Zuhao instructed. 

After everyone left, she suddenly shouted dramatically.  

Kaixin Min called the Student Council members in and told them she had been asleep and, upon waking, saw President Lei fall out the window.  

The Student Council members were puzzled but believed her since it was plausible.  

They were President Lei’s close aides and knew about his womanizing routines; surely he slipped out the window during a rendezvous.  

Kaixin Min’s story was flawless and reasonable.  

But the most important thing now was to rescue President Lei!  

Kaixin Min slipped away amid the chaos.  

She wanted to find Li Zuhao, but he had long since disappeared.  

“Saving girls? Are you worthy?”  

Doubt filled her heart, especially about Li Zuhao’s last words, which annoyed her greatly.  

Li Zuhao hadn’t gone far; he sat down under a tree by the nearby playground.  

He took out his phone and contacted an old acquaintance.  

Soon, Student Council Vice President Hao Tianhui from the High School Division arrived and sat beside him, quietly asking, “Were you the one who caused that commotion just now?”  

“I want to ask you a question.” 

Li Zuhao didn’t answer but asked instead.  

“What question?” 

Hao Tianhui looked confused.  

“If that Lei guy falls from power, wouldn’t the President’s position fall to you?” 

Li Zuhao asked calmly.
