“Meow-Master- You’re here again~”
When the soft, delicate voice of the black-haired cat-eared maid rang out, it felt as if the entire world had quieted down.
Cat-eared maid cosplay was quite popular in the Huayuan Federation, and you could find it in many maid cafes.
Just imagine, after a long day of exhausting assignments and work, you arrive at this place called a maid café.
A girl with black hair and cat ears greets you with a charming smile, her lively eyes looking at you with a pitiful gaze, calling you “Master” in a voice that tickles your ears, while she presents you with a cup of coffee.
It seems as if all your worries melt away.
“Same as usual.”
Ji Yuenian handed over his gold card and stepped into the café.
The interior of the café was not overly luxurious; instead, it exuded an antique charm.
The brown oak floor, redwood tables and chairs, and the melodious strains of a violin filled the air, mingling with a faint, toasty aroma.
It was a delightful blend of rich dark chocolate cake, slightly bitter latte, and roasted chestnut cake wafting together.
Ji Yuenian looked around, expecting the place to be sparsely populated at this hour, but to his surprise, he spotted an old “acquaintance.”
By the window sat a boy with short hair and blue eyes, a bag beside him and a notebook on the table.
He sat quietly, working on his assignments, sunlight streaming through the window and casting a golden glow around him.
“Didn’t expect this guy to have such tastes.”
Ji Yuenian thought to himself.
He had genuinely believed that Jiang Chi was a stone-hearted fellow uninterested in women.
But, unexpectedly, unexpectedly—tch, tch, tch—he could only say that all men understand each other.
With that thought, Ji Yuenian walked up to Jiang Chi, his sturdy frame blocking the sunlight and casting a large shadow.
Jiang Chi looked up, his blue eyes meeting Ji Yuenian’s dark ones.
“Jiang, the campus heartthrob, no one sitting next to you, right?”
A hint of a teasing smile played on Ji Yuenian’s lips, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Jiang Chi frowned slightly, glancing at Ji Yuenian without speaking, but shook his head in response.
Seeing this, Ji Yuenian chuckled and sat down opposite Jiang Chi, leaning back slightly and crossing his legs.
At that moment, the cat-eared maid approached with a latte and a small dark chocolate cake.
She placed the tray on the table and presented the coffee to him.
“Meow~ Master~ Your supreme latte and black forest meow cake love you~~” The maid’s gentle voice chimed.
Ji Yuenian smiled as he accepted the coffee, saying, “Thanks, Wan Yi, little kitty.”
Despite saying this, his gaze remained fixed on Jiang Chi.
Jiang Chi continued to work silently, his head bent over his assignments, not uttering a word.
The maid gently retreated, and Ji Yuenian lifted his coffee, inhaling the rich aroma before taking a small sip.
“Not bad,” Ji Yuenian remarked.
“Jiang, the campus heartthrob, hasn’t yours arrived yet? Do you need me to check on it?”
As he spoke, he speared a small piece of cake with his fork and savored it.
Jiang Chi glanced at Ji Yuenian with indifference before returning to his work, writing something in his notebook.
Ji Yuenian raised an eyebrow. “Jiang, you don’t need to keep pretending to be the aloof heartthrob at a maid café. Every man has his little hobbies, you know.”
“But you don’t need to worry about your cool image; after a few days, this spot will be mine.”
With that, Ji Yuenian triumphantly speared another piece of cake, pairing it with a sip of latte.
Jiang Chi lifted his head, his gaze calm and steady, locking eyes with Ji Yuenian.
“I don’t,” he replied.
And indeed, Jiang Chi didn’t.
His family was in the food business, and his father was a school board member.
It made perfect sense for them to run a maid café outside of school, and as the only son, Jiang Chi was sent by Jiang Yushu to check the accounts, which was entirely reasonable.
Of course, there was also a little ulterior motive from Jiang Yushu, wanting his son to interact more with women and awaken some of the interests a man should have, instead of spending all his time in the library.
“Right, right, you don’t, you don’t.”
Ji Yuenian rolled his eyes, not bothering to hide his disdain.
To not even admit one’s own interests—this guy was too pathetic.
“By the way, how much is that shirt of yours?” Ji Yuenian suddenly asked.
“550.”
“Hmm.” Ji Yuenian nodded slightly, then pulled out ten red bills from his wallet and placed them on the table.
“Wan Yi.”
“Meow meow~ Here, Master~ How can I serve you, meow?”
The black-haired cat maid leaned in obediently.
“Check, and today’s expenses for this young man will be on me. The remaining money is a tip for you from him.”
Upon hearing Ji Yuenian’s words, Wan Yi’s eyes flashed with surprise, but she quickly regained her sweet smile.
She looked at Ji Yuenian and said, “Master meow~ Take care~”
After taking the money, she turned to Jiang Chi, slightly bowing as she said, “Thank you for the tip, Master. It’s an honor to serve you~ I hope you’ll give a five-star review~ Meow~~”
Ji Yuenian stood up, adjusted his clothes, and turned to leave the maid café.
Jiang Chi raised his head, watching Ji Yuenian’s limping figure as he walked away, his gaze then falling on the ten red bills in Wan Yi’s hand, shaking his head slightly.

That night, in the streaming room.
The barrage of comments filled the screen, and as the enemy crystal exploded with a bang, the words “Victory” shone brilliantly on the screen.
Ji Yuenian took off his headphones and yawned.
“Alright, brothers, that’s it for today’s stream. Good night.”
“If you need a boost, join the fan group. We’ll randomly select one person each week, absolutely fair and just.”
With that, Ji Yuenian ended the stream, picked up his phone, and spun around in his gaming chair.
Bao Yue’s Little Den
Bao Yue: “Thanks for your hard work, both of you.”
Meow Meow Hero: “Not hard at all! Snuggling with big brother Bao Yue, I learned so many gaming techniques today. I’m sure my teacher will be amazed. Meow meow happy jpg.”
Bao Yue: “Snuggle snuggle jpg.”
Bao Yue: “Where’s Chi Bao? Why haven’t you said anything? Are you in a bad mood?”
Chi Long Baby Loves Bathing: “I’m here.”
Chi Long Baby Loves Bathing: “I ran into that boundary-less person again today…”
Bao Yue: “Then just punch him! Make him go away! I hate people like that the most, always coming over for no reason. If I met him, I’d punch him once. Gritting teeth jpg.”
Chi Long Baby Loves Bathing: “…I can’t fight.”
Bao Yue: “Uh… Chi Bao is a girl?”
Chi Long Baby Loves Bathing: “No.”
Bao Yue: “That’s strange. I’ve never heard of a boy who can’t fight. Dog head jpg.”
Meow Meow Hero: “This cat can’t fight either, but this cat is also a boy. Justifying jpg.”
After chatting for a while, the three of them logged off.
Ji Yuenian was about to head back to bed for some rest, but as he took a few steps, a sharp pain shot through his ankle, forcing him to sit back down in the gaming chair.
He hurriedly took out Yunnan Baiyao and applied it to the sprain.
As the Yunnan Baiyao touched the sprained area, a fiery sensation surged through him, and the pain intensified rather than eased.
“Damn! This school’s medicine can’t be fake, can it? Why does it hurt more the more I apply it?” Ji Yuenian gasped.
“No way! Let’s try another body.”
