Before the two Blasphemers could split up, Truth flashed before them.
She currently took the form of a common adventurer with pink hair and silver eyes.
“What are you two doing?”
If Superman could wear glasses and become unrecognizable, it was only reasonable that Truth could do the same by changing her hair and eye color.
“Who?!”
The two Blasphemers jumped in fright and hurriedly turned around.
They discovered a little brat who had appeared behind them at some unknown time.
Her appearance was exceptionally outstanding, and based on her outfit, she seemed to be a Priest.
One could tell that in a few more years, she would grow into a beauty capable of toppling nations.
“How much did you hear?”
One of the Blasphemers immediately grabbed Truth by the collar and questioned her sternly.
He did not want his meticulously prepared plan of several days to be ruined by such a little brat.
As a member of the Radical Faction of Blasphemers who had sworn to eradicate everything related to the gods without exception, the last thing he wanted to see was Wangsheng City establishing a good relationship with the Ninth Saintess.
The gods had persecuted everyone for so many years, yet the spineless cowards in the upper echelons of Wangsheng City actually wanted to try and befriend her?
‘This is simply the behavior of a spineless coward!’
Therefore, to suppress the Compromise Faction, the Radicals chose to strike hard after their protests proved fruitless.
They intended to directly shatter all the unrealistic fantasies held by the Compromise Faction!
A few days ago, a group of Radicals had hidden themselves near the Mist to wait for the Ninth Saintess’s next move.
As long as an opportunity arose, they would find a way to intensify the conflicts between the Saintess, the public, and Wangsheng City.
Now, they had finally found their chance.
Upon receiving news that the Ninth Saintess had begun construction within the Mist, the Radical Blasphemers immediately decided to blow up the construction site.
They would then let the matter ferment, publicize it widely, and announce that the incident was their handiwork.
“That’s right, we Blasphemers did it. And we aren’t done yet — this is only the beginning!”
In this way, the conflict between the people of Deya City and the Blasphemers would become nearly impossible to reconcile.
The friendly relations between the Ninth Saintess and Wangsheng City would surely be affected as well.
“Hear what?” Truth replied with a puzzled expression, appearing as if she understood nothing.
However, just as the two Blasphemers were about to let down their guard, Truth continued, “Are you talking about how you want to blow this place up to cause a panic?”
“What?!” The Blasphemer was stunned for a moment before flying into a rage.
He raised his hand, intending to slap Truth and take her away.
However, Truth’s movements were faster and more powerful.
With a simple wave of her hand, she knocked the Blasphemer’s hand aside and ran toward the nearest building.
“Ugh!”
The Blasphemer let out a soft groan of pain, his entire arm feeling nearly numb. ‘Where did this brat come from? Why is her strength so high?!’
No, they had to catch her immediately. Otherwise, if she went to report them, the plan would be completely ruined!
“Chase her!” The two Blasphemers immediately pursued Truth, catching up to her just as she slipped inside.
“Heh, you think you can run?”
Today, they would definitely make this little Priestling pay! The Blasphemer had already decided how to deal with Truth.
A lackey of the gods like her deserved no pity. Being sent to the Land of Exile was the best fate for her!
“OK, there are no prying eyes here. Let’s do it here,” Truth said suddenly after being caught.
A faint smile that the two Blasphemers could not comprehend gradually appeared on her face, as if she were brewing something.
“Playing tricks! I don’t believe a little Priestling like you could insta-kill us… Gawk!”
Just as the Blasphemer holding Truth was finishing his boast, Truth’s small hand suddenly transformed into long, slender, black-red claws.
Without hesitation, she slammed them through the Blasphemer’s chin and into his brain. The man’s entire body stiffened instantly, and his eyes gradually rolled back.
He had been insta-killed by Truth.
“Huh?!” The remaining Blasphemer turned pale with fright. ‘Dead… my companion died just like that?!’
Immediately after, Truth turned her head slightly toward him. A sinister red light flashed in her eyes, causing the remaining Blasphemer to feel a soul-deep sense of unease!
Without hesitation, he chose to abandon his teammate and ran deep into the Mist. After all, nothing was more important than his own life!
Soon, Truth’s figure gradually disappeared behind the Blasphemer. He breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed that the strange little Priestling did not dare to venture recklessly into the Mist.
Although running blindly into the Mist would cause one to lose their sense of direction, he believed that with his Rank 3 strength, he could at least protect himself. As long as he stayed alive, everything would be fine. Finding an exit was only a matter of time!
After confirming his safety, the Blasphemer began to cautiously search for an exit within the Mist.
Perhaps it was sheer luck, but it only took him 1 hour to emerge from the west side of the Mist after encountering four small monsters and three bonfires.
“That… that was so smooth. And here I thought the Mist would be terrifying. Is that all it is?”
Before coming to Deya City, he had heard rumors in several taverns about the terrors of the Mist — things like sinister monsters and disgusting Dungeons.
It seemed those rumors were just hearsay spread by weak Adventurers.
“The plan to blow up the site has been exposed. I have to tell Captain Hughes about that little Priestling immediately. That girl is definitely one of the Ninth Saintess’s people!”
The Blasphemer did not stop to rest. Instead, he ran at full speed toward the south of the Mist to find the rest of his team and regroup.
About 1 hour later, he arrived at the base of a massive yellow rock.
Suddenly, several flashes of white light appeared atop the rock, prompting the Blasphemer to shout hurriedly:
“It’s me, Brendan!”
“Brendan?” One of the white lights vanished instantly.
In its place, a man wearing a yellow cloak slowly stood up. He had been blending in with the yellow rock.
“Didn’t you go on a mission with Kodo? Why are you back so soon? Where is the local who was supposed to meet you?”
“There was an accident. I have urgent news to report to the Captain!” Brendan replied loudly.
Seeing his state, the others hurriedly opened the entrance leading into the rock’s interior, allowing Brendan to see Captain Hughes, who was currently resting.
Seeing Brendan’s frantic appearance, Hughes knew immediately that nothing good had happened.
“Is Kodo dead or captured?”
“Dead. He was killed by a Priest…”
“A Priest?!”
“Listen to me first! That girl might have just been pretending to be a Priest. She manifested a terrifying black-red claw and stabbed it directly through Kodo’s chin, and then…”
Brendan truthfully recounted every detail he had witnessed to Hughes.
The captain immediately stood up, frowning as he asked, “You just said that fake Priest glared at you, and then you felt extremely uneasy?”
“That’s right…”
“This is bad!” Black-red claws, a disguise, an uneasy aura, and she chose not to kill Brendan along with Kodo… The experienced Captain Hughes showed a trace of panic on his face.
“Someone, check Brendan’s body immediately!”
Before Brendan could react, two nearby Blasphemers stepped forward and tore open his clothes to inspect him.
Soon, they found a crimson, sinister mark on his neck.
“Just as I thought…” Hughes’s face turned deathly pale upon seeing the mark.
The mark on Brendan was none other than a Demon’s Stalking Mark!
What “Ninth Saintess’s person”? These two fools had clearly run into a Demon!
And the reason that Demon hadn’t killed them both was that it wanted to toy with Brendan, or rather…
“Perhaps it wanted to use Brendan to find our camp?” Hughes muttered.
He then shouted to his subordinates, “Everyone, pack everything and leave immediately! This place is no longer safe! And you, Brendan, describe that fake Priest’s appearance to me right now!”
Hughes planned to tie Brendan up and leave him here for the Demon after gathering the information.
Otherwise, letting Brendan stay with them would doom the entire group.
“Let me think…” Under Captain Hughes’s intense gaze, Brendan replied somewhat timidly.
He didn’t understand what the captain was so afraid of.
“She was very small, looking to be about 12 or 13 years old. She wore a common Priest Robe, and then… Uh? Captain?”
Brendan suddenly noticed that Hughes had frozen for some reason. His expression was vacant, as if he had been terrified by something.
“Did that fake Priest have pink hair?” Hughes asked, his voice trembling slightly.
“Yes. Captain, how did you know?”
“Were her eyes silver-white, and did she have a round face?”
“That’s… that’s right…”
Brendan was stunned. How did the captain know the fake Priest’s physical characteristics? Had he seen her before? Wait!
Suddenly, Brendan noticed a familiar figure reflected in Hughes’s dilated pupils. Based on the reflection, that figure was standing right behind him!
“How can this be…” Brendan wore the same expression as Hughes.
Why was that fake Priest able to follow him all the way here?
“Is this your nest?”
Truth, standing behind Brendan, spoke up curiously. Her crisp voice was completely out of place among this group of large men.
The surrounding Blasphemers who were packing their things also froze and looked at Truth.
“Huh? Where did this kid come from?”
Thud!
A dull sound echoed. In front of the Blasphemers, their strongest leader knelt directly before Truth.
“Demon Lord, please spare my life!”
