The Second Planโs letter was sent to the Medical Association in Sweet Melon Town.
Now, the Medical Association and the local Church in Watermelon Town had already become the base of the Opposition.
The inns in town were filled with waves of Holy Court Knights, all hosted free of charge by the Innkeeper.
The entire Sweet Melon Town had transformed into a massive military camp, gathering hundreds of Church Knights here.
They were all Veteran Church Knights, contacted by the Papal Left Hand.
Their strength was assured, their faith unwavering, and most of them were Knights Order members who deeply admired the legendary tale of the Demon-Hunting Nun.
If not for the sorrowful legend of the Demon-Hunting Nun spreading across the nation, even the Papal Left Hand might not have been able to summon these battle-hardened veterans from the borderlands.
This was a force of Veteran Church Knights capable of taking on ten foes for every one of their own.
Yet these very Veteran Church Knights had never been valued by the Church, most of them exiled to the frontier to resist the invasion of other nationsโ demons.
For them, the Royal City was a land of heartbreak. Coming back without permission would be seen as rebellion against the Church.
Now, with the Popeโs Grandson and the Papal Left Hand as their guarantors, they could finally act openly, determined to erase the scars of their heartbreak.
โThe next step is Samimiโs planโthe [Pig Demon Nun Judgment Assembly].โ
Qiqi Zhu received a secret letter from the Sword Slope Girl, which she promptly handed to Qiqi Duo. Whether it was Samimi or Saintess Ofica, they both trusted Qiqi Duo; she was the elder sister of the Holy Word Society.
Even so, neither the Papal Left Hand nor the Popeโs Grandson could trust anyone one hundred percent.
The secret letter contained the full plan, but hidden within was a personal note written by Samimi herself:
They absolutely could not reveal the true circumstances behind the burning of the Demon-Hunting Nun to the public. Thus, everyone only knew that the final act was to burn the Demon-Hunting Nun alive.
Samimi intended to use her own death as a warning to the world.
โI canโt allow it! I absolutely refuse!โ
The Popeโs Grandson was the first to step forward in opposition, her anger boiling over.
It wasnโt just herโother Judgment Knights and Medical Association nuns who opposed the plan also broke down on the spot, some even ready to storm the Royal City immediately.
โDonโt be rash. We still canโt act yet. Our chance to save the Demon-Hunting Nun will come at the Judgment Assembly.โ
But the Papal Left Hand urged everyone to calm down. Though everyone was full of righteous fury, the Churchโs influence in the Royal City was anything but simple, and the Royal Cityโs conservative factions and nobility had ties that couldnโt easily be broken.
In dealing with the Knights Order, the Majesty would never just stand by and watch.
Unless a special situation occurredโsuch as the Church offending public opinion.
In that case, the Majesty would absolutely refuse to help, at least not openly.
Currently, the public outside was seething with anger, and with no high officials in the government daring to intervene, this murky affair was left for the Church to handle on its own. Even if someone wanted to step in, it would only be the King or his Royal Commissioner.
Qiqi Zhu saw everyoneโs fighting spirit was high, ready for action, but she herself was deeply uneasy.
This was Samimiโs way of manipulating everyoneโs hearts.
By concealing the most crucial information, she had unified everyoneโs will, faith, and fighting intent, winding them all tight as a spring.
She was using herself as bait to ignite everyoneโs resolve.
โThat evil Samimiโnext time I see her, Iโll put an arrow right through her!โ
Qiqi Zhu still remembered, sheโd originally returned to the Church just to prevent Nanxi from killing people indiscriminately, but now, sheโd been dragged onto this pirate ship by Samimi, caught up in this unprecedented internal Church struggle.
No, this was an internal war within the Knights Order!
In Sweet Melon Town, a massive Knights Order army was already assembled.
But what she never expectedโ
This entire Veteran Holy Court Knights army was actually being led by her!
โSamimi, you really are the death of me!โ
Because as soon as Qiqi Duo arrived in Sweet Melon Town, everyone had pushed her into the role of leader of the Churchโs reserve army, commander of the demon-hunting campaign, and a great general of rebellion.
And now, as the Judgment Assembly approachedโฆ
Two senior-level Holy Court Knights whoโd long been missing finally arrived in Sweet Melon Town to help share the burden with Qiqi Zhu.
โReport.โ
The Mage Moden Jibi from the Royal City was the Kingโs Royal Commissioner, sent specifically to handle Knights Order affairs.
He spent every day inside the Cathedral of the Jialiansi family, but was actually there to keep an eye on Archbishop Tairus.
Because he was the main focus of the Judgment Assemblyโif he didnโt show up on time, the whole show would fall flat.
Apart from Qiqi Duo, the Rain Slope Mage Moden Jibi was the true hidden MVP.
He fawned over Archbishop Tairus every day, praising him non-stop, and secretly reported every arrangement of Tairusโs personnel to Saintess Oficaโs side.
On Saintess Oficaโs side, the Sword Slope Girl and a number of Sanctuary Knights were also preparing for the Pig Demon Nun Judgment Assembly.
But everyone was extremely reluctant, and only a small number of the most loyal Sanctuary Knights knew that the upcoming Judgment Assembly was all just a show.
Their main job was to spread the news of the Judgment Assembly as far as possible, causing a sensation across the entire country. As for how the people of the Royal City felt about it, that didnโt matter.
At this point, no one could control public opinion anymore, and any debate was just white noise.
For the Church, only the path of brute force remainedโfirst, use the Judgment Assembly to take down the leading Demon-Hunting Nun, then crush all opposing forces and punish every dissenter involved. This was always the Churchโs favored way of handling things.
And we would fight the armed power of the Church to the bitter end!
โTo the Churchโs ruling armed force, right and wrong, justice and evil donโt matter. What they need is stability and prosperity. They donโt care about lawโwhoever breaks the order gets flattened, and whoever brings peace gets protected. As for us, weโre obviously the ones breaking the order. If we canโt defeat that man in the end, nothing will be resolved. But our current strength isnโt enough to face him yet.โ
As the days drew closer to the Judgment Assembly, Sword Saintess Ofica still had her head full of troubles, burning the midnight oil every night, but still unable to come up with a truly beautiful plan.
She and the Rain Slope Girl never expected that their own names would also become part of the Churchโs opposition.
Originally, the Holy Word Society was a force dedicated to protecting the Church, a hidden power that ensured safety, but now they were leading the charge in open rebellion.
However, to them, Rain, Arrow, Flame, and the four Saintesses couldnโt represent the Holy Word Society as a whole.
This was entirely the personal action of just the four of themโit had nothing to do with the Society itself.
Without the help of one of the four senior Holy Word Slope Girls, or the famous Tortoise Saintess Makima returning, their chances of victory werenโt high.
Our strongest on this side was still the Papal Left Hand, but in theory, he couldnโt make a move.
Because if he intervened in the Churchโs internal affairs without caution, he would trigger the appearance of the Church Guardian Deity, and then it would truly become an all-out Church civil war.
Sword Saintess Ofica calculated over and over againโeven if public opinion was on their side, the actual power gap was still huge.
After all, this was the Otherworld. Just as some could single-handedly conquer the world, others could conquer the universe with their own strength. Fist was the only truth.
What was public opinion in the Otherworld anyway? Merely an empty excuse for so-called justice.
But for a Transmigrator like Samimi, it was a very important thing.
She needed a legitimate reason in order to show her full potential.
โAll preparations are ready. My fate is in my own hands, not in the heavens.โ
Samimi had nothing much to do these days, so she spent most of her time meditating in the Healerโs Room, cultivating her energy.
But what she didnโt expect was that Klose also stayed in the Healerโs Room, making a small bed next to hers and meditating there as well.
From now on, the Dream Witch Klose had awakened her Magic Talent, so she could also meditate and absorb magical power from the world.
Of course, her magical talent was never going to be greatโbecause to become a mage, one needed years of cultivation. Fall behind by one step, and youโd be a half-baked mage for life.
Thatโs why magic wasnโt something ordinary people could learn. Even if a commoner child was born with Magic Talent, theyโd easily fall behind, their talent wasted, so high-level mages only came from noble families and the Magic Family.
Samimi herself had started meditating and absorbing magic power from childhood to reach her current level.
Let alone someone like Klose, whoโd already grown so big before starting to practice magicโher mana could never reach that of a proper mage.
But it didnโt matter, because her magic was obviously meant to complement her martial skills. She didnโt need much mana or deep magical knowledge.
Just like Church Knight Qiqi Zhu, whose poison element magic didnโt need to be especially powerful; as long as it could be used on her weapon, it was good enough.
This was what we commonly called [Magical Warrior].
Klose had been clinging to her ever since Samimi had beaten her up, even sneaking in to learn her methods for practicing magicโa truly remarkable person.
โYouโre such a thief.โ Samimi had originally been happy at seeing her rival become her lapdog, but now, she just felt annoyed instead.
โWhat did you say?โ Klose asked.
โI said youโre a thief, stealing my techniques,โ Samimi accused.
โDoes that count as stealing? Besides, even if you werenโt here, I could still ask Bemore for help.โ Klose replied without a hint of shame.
โBemore? Sheโs just one of my subordinates,โ Samimi scoffed.
โYouโve met her? What happened between you two?โ Klose asked.
โIโm not telling. If you want to know, go ask Bemore yourself. See what she says. If she tells you, then come back and compare stories with me. Iโd like to see just how many facts she changed,โ Samimi replied with a smile.
โFabiana also called you back and didnโt say anything.โ Klose pressed further.
โWhen I beat you up and pinned you to the ground, did you go back and tell them?โ Samimi countered.
Klose was silent for a few seconds before replying, โNone of them even know where theyโre at. Who knows when the Hero Party will regroup?โ
โTheyโre out there training, of course! Unlike you, whoโs just loafing around,โ Samimi mocked.
โDonโt call me a loafer!โ Klose snapped, annoyed.
โIโve answered so many of your questionsโnow itโs my turn. How did you only awaken your Magic Talent now? How can someone awaken magic at seventeen?โ Samimi asked.
โBecause I spent every day thinking of ways to kill you. It just sort of happened,โ Klose answered truthfully.
โYou live a dangerous life,โ Samimi said with deep satisfaction. โSometimes, being remembered by a beautiful girl isnโt always a good thing.โ
