At this moment, Julie’s face was flush with the dizzying glow of sudden happiness.
Though she tried her best to maintain a dignified composure in front of Enya, the corners of her mouth twitched upward, impossible to suppress.
It made her expression look quite peculiar.
“Laugh if you want to,” Enya said, reaching out to pat Julie on the shoulder.
She was just about to continue feeding Julie sweet words to keep her assistant loyal and dedicated to her future work when a buzzing sound vibrated against her body.
Enya’s brows knit instantly. She reached out and covered the pocket of her skirt, feeling the rhythmic tremors of the mirror within.
Before the others could react, Enya issued her instructions. “Cough—I have some matters to attend to. You girls rest here for a bit.”
As she spoke, she was already heading toward the stairs.
Enya hurried up the steps, the rhythmic clack-clack of her small high heels against the stone tiles echoing through the stairwell.
Julie and the other two girls looked at each other in confusion, wondering what could be so urgent.
‘Could she be feeling unwell?’
It was understandable; nature called, after all.
They simply assumed Enya was rushing to the powder room. The other two walked over to congratulate Julie, and the three of them began chatting in low, melodic voices.
Enya entered a room and immediately locked the door. She pulled out a black Magic Crystal engraved with golden patterns and let it drop naturally to the floor.
With a soft ding, the guest room was gradually washed in a somber, muted gray tone.
Only then did Enya pull the bronze circular mirror from her pocket.
She glanced around the room and walked slowly toward the bed.
During that walk, a black bubble enveloped her before bursting in a kshana, transforming Enya into the image of a Black Nun.
The nun’s habit was pitch black, decorated with vertical stripes from top to bottom.
The upper half clung to the curves of her body, accentuating Enya’s slender frame and ample curves.
The lower half consisted of a voluminous skirt propped up by a bustle, revealing a pair of feet clad in black matte high heels.
Enya looked down at her outfit and took a deep breath before slowly exhaling. She lifted her skirt and sat down.
“These heels are a bit too high…”
Even though she was used to them—capable of walking swiftly in 12 centimeters without twisting an ankle—it didn’t mean she enjoyed wearing them. Unfortunately, this was a set; she couldn’t swap the pieces out individually.
“This is all Antiros’s fault!”
After a quick grumble, Enya placed the mirror on her lap. Her fingers, encased in black lace, tapped lightly on the surface of the glass.
As the mirror’s surface rippled, the scene before Enya’s eyes underwent a massive transformation.
The originally elegant guest room became a massive vaulted corridor.
The floor was paved with polished, dark gray stone slabs.
Luminous chandeliers hung from the arched ceiling, and the stone pillars on either side were fitted with candle brackets, filled with burning white candles.
Orange flames flickered.
Enya turned slightly to look at the scenery beside her.
The walls were set with brilliant stained-glass windows.
She turned further to look behind her, where a massive set of doors stood tightly closed. That was the place she had come from…
Withdrawing her gaze from the door, she turned toward the end of the path. She cleared her throat, lifted her skirt, and began to walk.
The thin heels tapped against the floor, creating a crisp sound that struck at one’s desires.
At the end of the corridor was another set of large doors.
As Enya approached, they opened on their own, leaving a narrow gap.
She stepped inside without breaking her stride. Beyond lay a circular hall featuring an exquisitely crafted round table. Behind every chair was a door, signifying that each person had their own private passage.
Enya scanned the room and realized that not only was she not late, she was actually a bit early.
As the organizer of the meeting, the Great Witch Antiros had not yet appeared.
Enya curled her lip and looked around as she walked to her designated spot.
She pulled out the red leather chair and sat down primly.
If she hadn’t entered as the Black Nun, she wouldn’t have bothered maintaining such a posture for them to admire; she wouldn’t have minded lounging lazily for a nap.
While waiting for the Mirror Meeting to officially begin, Enya mentally organized what she wanted to say to facilitate the information exchange.
She had several questions she wanted to ask Antiros.
As Enya was deep in thought, one of the doors opened, immediately drawing her attention.
A Golden Fox Princess sat down in her chair.
She rested her elbows on the table, staring at Enya with blue eyes.
Her face was blurred by a mosaic, making it impossible to see her features clearly.
This Miss Fox Princess seemed curious about the current Black Nun version of Enya. She stuck out her small pink tongue and licked her cherry-red lips.
“Hey, you, the black woman over there. What’s your name?”
“…”
Enya didn’t really want to deal with her, so she answered casually. “You may call me Ms. Moth.”
“I don’t mean that. I’m asking for your real name.”
The Fox Princess clearly didn’t believe “Ms. Moth” was a real name. Enya remained sitting upright.
“Isn’t that how the names of Demons work?”
Demons did not have clear names and were usually referred to by titles. A Demon with a name like a human would possess human-like intelligence.
“Oh? So you admit you’re a Demon? My, my, Enya is truly impressive, being able to get her hands on a Demon like you.”
The Fox Princess began to laugh.
Their voice was crisp and pleasant, with a quality that made one’s heart itch, though this was actually an ability.
Separated by a spatial layer created by Antiros, it naturally couldn’t affect Enya, though she was still somewhat speechless at the fox spirit’s behavior.
“…”
“Hehehe, don’t be angry, don’t be angry. Am I not just stating facts?”
The Golden Fox Princess seemed to be doing it on purpose.
In front of Enya, she began to talk about Enya’s past actions—though, of course, none of it was good.
In her telling, Enya was a murderous, thieving villain who kidnapped innocent women and committed every possible evil.
She was a god-awful woman who deserved to be locked up for a lifetime.
‘The ones I burned were cultists, the ones I killed were cultists, and the ones I robbed were also cultists. If saving those women from the Heretic Cult’s sacrificial rituals counts as kidnapping them, then I guess I’ll take the blame.’
To summarize the interruption, the Fox Princess was finding every possible way to slander Enya’s character in front of “Ms. Moth.” Enya sneered inwardly.
‘Just you wait, Zeta!’
On the surface, however, Enya quietly listened to the girl disparage her to her face, nodding from time to time in agreement.
Once the Fox Princess, Zeta, was muted by Antiros—who had arrived at some point without anyone noticing—Enya smiled and spoke.
“Isn’t that quite nice?”
“As expected of the Demon Nun.”
Vivienne had just sat down in the seat next to Enya. Upon hearing Enya’s words, she turned her head and tossed out that remark.
At that moment, next to Zeta, a tall woman with wavy purple hair spoke up calmly. “Where is the Demon Nun from?”
“I’m curious as well,” Eliv added after taking her seat.
This was… a group attack!
“…”
Suddenly finding herself in a tight spot, Enya chose to stay low, pretending she had also been muted and couldn’t speak.
The atmosphere of the Mirror Meeting felt a bit off, but fortunately, Antiros changed the subject.
“Let us begin officially.”
The second Mirror Meeting that Enya attended had officially begun.
In truth, there wasn’t much for them to discuss, as they were scattered all over the continent.
Most topics concerned events affecting the entire land or specific nations.
90% of the active contributions to this group came from Vivienne and Eliv trading information, as they had several collaborative projects in the real world.
“The terminal over at Red Pine City should be completed next month. It will be ready for use then, transporting supplies to the north.”
“Understood. I’ve noted it.”
Eliv appeared to have a heavy expression. She glanced at the Black Nun, Enya.
“Recently…”
“!!!”
Enya turned her head slightly to look at Eliv, her mind racing. ‘Is she going to tell everyone I’ve been seen in White Stone City?’
However, that quick turn of the head was caught by Eliv. The blurred head of the Elf dipped slightly.
Eliv paused for a moment before saying, “The Seal of the Northern Mountains is growing increasingly loose…”
“…”
Vivienne tapped her fingers on the table, lost in thought. “The south is temporarily safe.”
The purple-haired Demon Lord Princess shared a bit of good news, allowing the heavy atmosphere to relax slightly.
“That’s good. At least we won’t have to fight on two fronts,” Vivienne said, leaning back against her chair with a sigh of relief.
“We’ll take it slow. There’s no rush.”
“Mhm.” Eliv nodded.
Enya knew the Seal of the Northern Mountains likely had something to do with the Goddess of Night.
She decided to ask Vivienne about it after the meeting.
Although asking Eliv directly would provide more details, Enya couldn’t very well approach her as the Black Nun.
She was currently playing the role of “Ms. Moth,” and Enya herself was still a “Princess” on the run.
After Vivienne finished, it was Enya’s turn. She scanned the circle and asked her question.
“I want to know the recent movements of the Cult of Calamity, as well as the identity of the hidden spider-like entity behind the organization known as Golden Town.”
“The Cult of Calamity?”
Zeta snapped upright from her slouched position over the table.
“I know about this! I remember they’re looking for a defector. They didn’t do it themselves, though; they spent a fortune hiring assassins.”
“…”
The defector was undoubtedly Tulius, but he was currently in a state between life and death.
In reality, he was dead, but in a certain sense, he was still alive.
Killing him was impossible, and even finding him would be a massive headache.
Just as Enya was thinking this, Zeta the Fox Princess spoke again.
“I’m the one who took the contract.”
“!?”
Beneath her black mask, Enya’s eyelids couldn’t help but twitch.
