Chapter 20: My Master Is a Big Liar!

Li Ang suddenly opened his eyes wide, gasping as he felt his intact body, somewhat dazed.

It was no surprise—this simulation was just too realistic.

That suffocating sensation almost made him believe he had truly died.

Coming back to his senses, Li Ang looked around the empty room, feeling a bit lost for a moment.

Li Ang raised an eyebrow at the prompt.

Li Ang looked at the headless body above him, somewhat moved.

Compared to the joyful crowd, Elvy herself stood frozen.

Li Ang’s body transformed into a blood mist swirling with overwhelming magical power, rushing into Elvy’s body.

Her master had been with him all along; he definitely knew something!

Chris felt the sharpness in Elvy’s eyes and tensed up.

He quickly looked around and loudly declared, “The judgment ceremony is now over!”

Then, he slipped away from the crowd.

The surrounding civilians were already startled by Elvy’s strange behavior.

When Chris announced the ceremony’s end, they instinctively took a step back, creating distance from her.

Because her expression was terrifying—what kind of despair could bring about such a look…

Just as Chris stepped outside the crowd, a breeze suddenly blew past him.

A long sword silently pressed against his neck.

Cold sweat immediately broke out on his forehead.

What speed was that? He hadn’t even sensed Elvy’s movement!

“My master… he, he really…”

The girl appeared in front of him, disheveled, her voice hoarse and words incoherent, completely like a lost child.

Chris nervously swallowed.

He could feel he was no match for Elvy in this state and had no idea what that bastard Li Ang had done!

And judging by how close Elvy was to breaking down, she probably had already lost her reason.

Feeling the sharp pain at his neck, Chris immediately proclaimed his loyalty.

Chris was utterly bewildered.

Elvy’s voice trembled.

Chris looked at the sword at his neck, his scalp tingling. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed nervously before slowly beginning, “First of all, this has nothing to do with me. Your master came to me of his own accord…”

“So… master, you lied to me. All of this was a lie… a trap?”

Elvy’s eyes were filled with despair as if she had used up all her strength to say those words, then suddenly she laughed.

“So master isn’t dead, right? That’s a lie too… he lied to me, didn’t he…?”

Lowering her gaze, her long hair covered her eyes but couldn’t hide the tears she couldn’t hold back.

Every word she uttered sounded like a wail or a plea:

“He’s not dead… he lied to me… it was all a lie!”

“A liar! He’s just a big liar!”
