After work, Liang Rou rubbed her sore waist, picked up her briefcase, and walked over to Xia Rui.
“Knock knock knock”
She tapped on the desk.
“Let’s go. Do you still have anything left to finish?”
Xia Rui immediately closed her laptop and stood up from her seat.
“Of course not, let’s go~”
She threw an arm around Liang Rou’s shoulders, walking out with her, arms slung together.
Xia Rui was more than half a head taller than Liang Rou, which made Liang Rou feel a bit awkward—she always felt like she had to look up at this girl.
She wasn’t short herself, about 160 cm, but standing next to Xia Rui, who was 174 cm, she just looked especially petite and cute.
Even though she’d become a girl now, having another girl’s arm around her shoulders still felt rather awkward.
“But I can’t squeeze into the subway, Xia Rui. I ride my Electric Scooter to the Company every day, so I’ll have to take that… But the Electric Scooter can fit two people. You can sit behind me~”
Xia Rui paused for a second, then seemed to think of something, and immediately smiled, nodding.
“Alright~”
When Liang Rou wasn’t looking, Xia Rui quietly slipped the Car Key back into her pocket.
Xia Rui was thinking, if Liang Rou gave her a ride on the Electric Scooter, then she could openly wrap her arms around her waist, and on bumpy roads, she could even hold on tighter, press her face against her back, and enjoy her scent…
They reached the underground garage, and as they passed a Luxury Car, Liang Rou stopped for a moment.
Xia Rui caught the envious look in her eyes, quietly tightened her grip on the Car Key in her pocket, but in the end, she didn’t take it out.
If she took her own car, she wouldn’t be able to hold Liang Rou’s waist.
“This is my Electric Scooter, isn’t it cute~”
It really was cute.
Looking at the pink Electric Scooter covered in all sorts of stickers, Xia Rui thought of how happy Liang Rou had been when she put them on, and couldn’t help but smile.
“It’s very cute~”
Of course it’s cute, Liang Rou thought to herself.
After all, her Girlfriend had put those stickers on for her.
Once they got on the Electric Scooter, Xia Rui carefully pinched Liang Rou’s soft waist.
Liang Rou’s body jolted—not out of shyness, but because… she was really ticklish there.
But in Xia Rui’s eyes, it looked like “Senpai is really sensitive, huh.”
The wind howled past their ears as they rode along.
Liang Rou thought Xia Rui was a bit timid, or maybe she just didn’t trust her driving skills.
Every time they hit a bumpy patch, Xia Rui would let out a little yelp and hug her waist tighter.
For Xia Rui, though, the scent coming from her Senpai was even more dizzying than the bumps in the road.
Guided by Xia Rui’s directions, they soon arrived at her Apartment Complex.
Seeing the one-elevator-one-apartment layout, Liang Rou was a little shocked.
She glanced at the nonchalant Xia Rui, who was idly fiddling with her nails, and felt a wave of sourness in her heart.
Goodness, is this some rich family’s daughter out here experiencing life?
After all, the Company-assigned apartments weren’t nearly this nice.
Her own little place—wait, not even hers—was nothing like this.
The bitterness in Liang Rou’s chest grew.
Sigh.
Forget it, there’s no point comparing.
Comparing only makes you angry.
When they got home, Xia Rui briskly put on an Apron.
Liang Rou wanted to help in the Kitchen, but Xia Rui shooed her out.
“Hey~ Senpai, you’re a guest~ How could I let a guest do any work? Besides… I invited you over for Dinner to thank you for taking care of me lately~ There’s no way I’ll let you lift a finger~”
Her words were so sincere that Liang Rou felt a little embarrassed.
She gave a couple of awkward laughs and sat back down on the Living Room Sofa.
Xia Rui pointed to the Game Console next to the TV. “There’s a Game Console here~ Senpai, if you get tired of your phone, you can play some games.”
“Alright, alright. You… go ahead.”
It was her first time visiting a girl’s house—other than her Girlfriend’s—so Liang Rou felt a little uneasy.
She sat stiffly on the Sofa, scrolling through Videos on her phone, bored out of her mind.
Once Xia Rui was sure Liang Rou was absorbed in her phone, she turned and went back to the Kitchen.
“Should I… use it?”
Xia Rui stared at the small Capsule in her hand, her eyes glinting with a strange light.
“Senpai won’t notice anything, right?”
“Hmm… She looks so clueless, she probably won’t.”
Xia Rui’s smile widened.
She glanced back to make sure Liang Rou hadn’t entered the Kitchen, then opened the Capsule and sprinkled the powder into a glass of Cola.
“I just want to get a little closer to Senpai…” she murmured.
Meanwhile, Liang Rou was still in the Living Room, watching Videos and grinning like a fool, completely unaware.
About an hour later, Xia Rui carried out steaming hot Dinner from the Kitchen.
“Senpai, Dinner’s ready! Come and have a taste~”
She wiped the sweat from her forehead in front of Liang Rou, then put her hands on her hips. “I think my cooking is really good~ Don’t worry~”
Liang Rou sat down and picked up a piece of meat.
“Mm, it’s actually really tasty.”
That praise was genuine.
But it was a bit spicy—though she didn’t say that out loud.
Seeing Liang Rou’s eyes darting around, obviously looking for something to drink, Xia Rui quickly brought out a few unopened cans of Beer and… the Cola with the added powder.
“Gulp~”
Liang Rou didn’t hesitate and took a sip of Cola.
Under the table, Xia Rui’s hand slowly clenched, finally forming a fist.
She quietly watched Liang Rou’s expression, and when she saw nothing unusual, she let out a breath of relief.
Looks like this drug really is colorless and tasteless.
Xia Rui smiled, opened a can of Beer, and handed it to Liang Rou.
“Senpai, we’re off tomorrow. It’s fine to have a few cans of Beer tonight, right?”
Liang Rou tilted her head, thinking it over.
It was true—besides, she could hold her liquor.
A few cans of Beer wouldn’t get her drunk, so she might as well not refuse and spoil the mood.
Seeing Liang Rou drink the Beer, the curve of Xia Rui’s smile grew even wider.
Now everything could be explained.
She glanced at the Clock—it was 8 p.m.
The Prophecy would kick in about twenty minutes later.
Until then, she needed to keep pouring drinks, so Liang Rou wouldn’t suspect anything when the Prophecy took effect.
The two of them laughed and chatted over drinks—one genuinely, the other with ulterior motives.
The Clock ticked away, and when the hands stopped at 8:18, Liang Rou squinted her eyes.
“Eh… I feel… kind of sleepy.”
The world seemed to spin before Liang Rou’s eyes.
Her eyelids grew heavy and pressed together, and with a “thud,” she collapsed onto the table, knocking over a can of Beer.
Some of the liquid spilled out, soaking her arm.
“Senpai?”
Xia Rui gently pushed Liang Rou’s arm, but there was no reaction.
“Senpai…”
Xia Rui’s lips slowly curved upward.
She covered her mouth with her manicured hand, her cheeks flushing red.
