After dinner.
Enya set down the washed dishes and turned to look at Rosily, who was standing nearby. She naturally knew what the girl wanted to do.
“What is it, darling?”
“It’s nothing, really!”
Rosily smiled sweetly.
She stepped forward and hugged Enya from the side, looking up at her.
After a moment of gathering her emotions, she spoke.
“Mom, you must be tired. If you’re tired, you should go to bed early!”
“Am I?” Enya feigned a look of confusion.
“You are, you are.” Rosily nodded quickly and said with great certainty, “Mom, you cooked and washed the dishes. You must be very tired.”
“Now that you mention it, I suppose I am a bit tired…” Enya smiled and placed her hand on Rosily’s head, stroking her daughter’s soft, fluffy hair.
It felt wonderful to the touch.
With a constant smile on her face, Rosily hurriedly said, “Mom, go get some rest quickly.”
“Mm-hmm. Since my daughter says so, it would be hard for me to refuse. Fine then, I’ll head to bed especially early tonight.”
Enya didn’t argue further and quickly agreed. Rosily followed her, wanting to enter the room, but Enya blocked her at the door and lightly tapped her on the head.
“I’m going to change into my pajamas. Do you want to watch that, too?”
“Ugh…” ‘Well, it’s not like I haven’t seen it before.’
Rosily didn’t think it was a big deal. Hadn’t her mother worn very little when bathing her before?
Despite her thoughts, Rosily obediently stayed at the door.
After waiting for a while and watching the light beneath the door crack dissipate, she leaned against the door and whispered.
“Mom, are you really asleep?”
Enya hadn’t changed her clothes at all.
She was sitting on the edge of the bed. After waiting quietly for a period of time, she finally opened the bedroom door.
Entering the hallway, she looked at the silent living room.
Rosily was gone.
Of course, it wasn’t just Rosily. Estelle was no longer in her room either, having slipped out even earlier than Rosily.
“These two girls, really…” Enya smiled helplessly.
Ever since Rosily and Estelle met, it was as if Rosily had found a clear goal.
Although Estelle always stayed a step ahead of her, the gap between them wasn’t so wide that it couldn’t be bridged.
Rosily did have the Dragon Bloodline, after all; she had a massive physical advantage.
Enya didn’t know if Vivienne had added any special ingredients when “creating” Estelle.
‘Will their rivalry continue forever?’
The helplessness on Enya’s face faded, replaced by a smile of relief.
Seeing both children working hard made her want to work harder as a mother to create an environment where they could grow safely and freely.
Enya walked to the living room and turned on the Magic Lamp.
She rummaged through the clothes hamper, picked up the outfit Rosily had taken off, and sat down in a chair.
From her Sea of Consciousness, she retrieved her “needle and thread.”
The needle was primarily silver-black, accented with gold silk textures, while the thread was even more unique, glowing with a faint blue light.
Enya threaded the needle and began to stitch the torn opening.
This “needle and thread” was actually a special Magic Tool that could perfectly restore broken things, even reattaching severed human limbs.
She had obtained it by chance.
Its previous owner was a psychopath who specialized in killing beautiful young girls, dismembering them, and stitching their bodies back together.
Enya had originally just been passing by and was unaware of the situation.
Unfortunately, the psychopath had targeted her, and the result was, naturally, his downfall.
Objects aren’t good or evil; only the people who use them are.
It didn’t take Enya long to repair Rosily’s academy uniform until it looked as good as new. She leaned in to sniff it; there was no odor, as it was just an outer coat.
“Forget it, I should wash it anyway.”
She planned to wash it tomorrow, as she still had things to do tonight.
Putting away her sewing tools and returning the clothes to the hamper, Enya looked down at herself.
Her tall, perky peaks almost obscured everything below.
She reached out to smooth the hem of her black skirt and decided it was better to change.
She touched her earlobe, remembering that she had given her silver teardrop earrings to Nina as a parting gift.
She had always appeared in that form before, so this was a bit problematic.
Fortunately, Enya had other things she could use to hide her identity.
In the dim sky, thick pillars of lightning occasionally surged within the dark clouds.
The light illuminated the entire land made of piled bones. The low rumbling never ceased, nor did the whistling wind.
Rosily tightly gripped her Gray Sword and traversed the bone-covered earth.
She had grown accustomed to the frenzied Soul Sea Wind here, and her movements were much more flexible than before.
She ducked into the massive skull of a beast, briefly adjusting her breathing while looking outside through the narrow gaps.
After confirming that no enemies were approaching for the time being, Rosily breathed a sigh of rest.
The skeletons here could rise from the ground at any moment.
Furthermore, after she had ventured one thousand meters inward, the skeletons were several times stronger than the ones she had first encountered.
Although they were still within the range of ordinary monsters, it made Rosily realize that the deeper she went, the more powerful the bone monsters would become.
Rosily lowered her head slightly, her gaze falling on the longsword in her hand.
She communicated directly with Cang in her mind.
‘Sister Cang, what exactly is this place?’
“I don’t know!”
An energetic voice echoed from within the silver-black sword.
Cang definitely knew, but how could she tell Rosily? This was her Mistress’s task!
Hearing this, Rosily pouted and grumbled inwardly. ‘How can you not know anything I ask?’
“…”
Cang simply played dumb, pretending she hadn’t heard.
Rosily huffed softly.
Her gaze shifted from the longsword to the gaps in the skull. At that moment, her simple shelter began to vibrate.
‘Oh no!’
Sensing trouble, Rosily hurriedly rushed out of the skeletal skull.
Because the ground was made of bone piles, there were many gaps. Stepping on it was unstable, and things often shifted.
While she wouldn’t actually die here, Rosily had no desire to experience the sensation of being killed again.
Usually, she was kicked out of the room once her Spirit Power was exhausted.
After distancing herself, Rosily turned back to look.
At the spot where she had just been, a Magical Beast of the Earth Dragon type, composed entirely of bones, was now standing.
The skeletal beast was six meters tall. Primitive Magic Symbols were attached to its thick spine.
As those runes lit up in sequence, the monster’s aura surged, and it charged with exaggerated speed.
Rosily raised her sword, utilizing the Magic Power in her body to enhance her physical form. She charged directly into the collision—and was sent flying.
‘It feels like being hit by a wall.’
Rosily, having flown nearly ten meters, stabilized her stance upon landing. her gaze remained locked on the giant skeletal beast.
Suddenly sensing she was being targeted, she turned around and used a newly learned Sword Qi Slash to shatter a humanoid skeleton that was attempting a sneak attack.
Rosily glanced down at her feet. She had actually discovered a few clues about this Bone World.
The outermost edges consisted of bones from weak life forms—from rodents to chickens, ducks, and geese—mixed with the bones of human children.
Further in were adult humans and massive quantities of pigs, dogs, cows, and sheep, along with some low-level Magical Beast bones.
At the location where Rosily logged in, she could encounter the skeletons of these large beasts after advancing one thousand meters.
Watching the skeletal Magical Beast in the distance prepare for a second charge, Rosily’s face remained relatively relaxed.
As the skeletal Earth Dragon recharged the Magic Symbols on its spine, a steel blessing effect was added to its body. Its four skeletal legs ran faster and faster.
Rosily gripped the Gray Sword and performed several seemingly casual slashes in the air.
The Sword Qi on the blade was flung out, transforming into arcs of sword light that rapidly struck the skeletal beast.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The continuous sounds of impact and splashing sparks made the scene quite brilliant for a moment.
Rosily calmly ran across the bone piles, dodging the monster’s savage charge.
As they brushed past each other, Rosily didn’t forget to land several more strikes of sword light on it.
Another burst of explosions and flames followed.
Rosily’s sword light seemed to be merely polishing the surface, but through her eyes, she saw that the Magic Power in the monster’s body was being disrupted.
Once the runes on the Magical Beast’s spine dimmed completely, the steel blessing on its bones disappeared along with them.
‘Defense broken. Time for damage!’
The aura around Rosily circulated as she flew toward the skeletal beast. Holding Cang level, she moved like a flash of lightning.
Just as the skeletal beast was about to turn around, the frantic Magic Power on Rosily’s blade pierced and severed its thick spine.
The beast immediately broke into two pieces.
Rosily knew very well that these monsters moved thanks to a mass of spirit fire in their heads. In other words, she had to destroy that.
Faint silver electricity flickered around her.
After landing, she immediately turned and lunged toward the skull, thrusting the Gray Sword deep inside.
‘Sword Qi bloom!’
The piercing Sword Qi instantly flooded the interior of the skull she had previously occupied, shredding the small spark of ghostly blue fire burning within.
The blue light in the skull’s eye sockets vanished.
Rosily let out a soft breath.
Although being constantly buffed by that strange wind was uncomfortable and the enemies attacked relentlessly, she had learned a lot.
For example, the skill she had just used was something she had learned by constantly fighting these skeletal monsters.
There were even more powerful foes further in; perhaps she could learn even greater abilities.
Just as Rosily was thinking this, she felt many more monsters rising. She turned and scanned her surroundings.
Even she couldn’t help but daze for a moment.
There were at least twenty or thirty of them, roughly the same size as the skeletal beast from before.
Their appearances weren’t all the same; they were of different species and appeared to possess various abilities.
“This is a bit like bullying, isn’t it?”
Rosily spoke softly, yet she still braced herself for battle.
On the other side—
Estelle was facing the same problem.
